We'd be suitably impressed by the clean and contemporary design of this apartment regardless of where it sat on the map, but the fact that it's found right in the very beating heart of London only adds to its allure.

Get ready to have all your all preconceptions about central homes banished. Here, there's plenty of natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and the stark white walls only lend to this bright ambience. The furnishings and finishes are full of character, and we like the collection of artwork, too. There's no part of the home that feels cramped, especially the kitchen and round dining table which will have you covered if you fancy a night off the local restaurants.

However, if cooking isn't on the cards, some of the UK capital's best culinary establishments can be found within footsteps of the front door, as well as an eclectic array of attractions – the Royal Opera House sits less than five minutes away on foot, as does the London Transport Museum and many of London's West End Theatres.

While the contemporary interiors of this serviced apartment may feel a little stark for some, the dual-aspect sash windows flooding the home with natural light and decorative period fireplaces are a nice touch. It's worth noting there's no lift in this apartment building, so be prepared to notch up your step count with some stairs.

West End Chronicles

This sumptuous home is situated in one of London's most desirable shopping neighbourhoods, Covent Garden. Browse designer stores from Tom Ford and Polo Ralph Lauren to Tiffany & Co, or have a mooch around the myriad of independent boutiques. After all that shopping, enjoy lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants here, and then later head to Somerset House or go for a stroll along the River Thames, both a five-minute walk away. Other attractions include Trafalgar Square, a four-minute saunter and the British Museum, a fifteen-minute amble.

Think well-appointed kitchen, dining table with space for you and a couple of friends, superior quality linens on a ridiculously comfortable bed and a squashy couch for you to relax on after a non-stop day in the city. After a hearty breakfast and a strong cup of tea, step out and explore. You’re less than a five-minute walk from two traditional pubs, a leisurely twenty-minutes from the bustling Covent Garden and just over fifteen from the British Museum. Jump on the Central line at nearby Holborn tube station towards edgy Bethnal Green in the east and well-to-do Mayfair to the west.
