The architect of the Queen Elizabeth Ocean Liner designed this home – so you know you can expect something special. Boho meets Art Deco and Bauhaus inside this loft, with dark wood flooring and unique wood panelling featured throughout the space. 

Leaving the building, you’ll descend a truly historic staircase. You might even feel as if it's channeling the vibes of the grand staircase on a royal ocean liner. Hop on public transport to reach East London in less than twenty minutes. This area is awash with high street shops, international restaurants, beer gardens, and rooftop bars.

To really immerse yourself into London culture, stay on the tube a bit longer to reach Central London. Here, you'll find fascinating museums, chic art galleries and the beautiful parks that define the landscape.

There is a cycle hire right outside the apartment block too. After all that shopping or exploring, there’s a private balcony to relax on at this modern, light-filled apartment which has a homely vibe with its plants and prints.

Behind a beautifully renovated townhouse facade lies an interior that is bright and beautiful in equal measures. The living room has the feel of a contemporary art gallery, with high ceilings, parquet flooring and striking pieces on the wall. Although saying that, we haven't been to a gallery with such cute pastel-pink, tufted furnishings. 

The kitchen is just as striking, thanks to the large windows, the flurry of house plants and handsome marble surfaces. So striking in fact, that we crowned it 'kitchen of the year' on Instagram. As well as letting in copious amounts of natural light, the French door also leads out to a charming garden space with some seating for warm evenings. 

Upstairs, the bedrooms are both large and equipped with regal beds, while there's even a balcony space looking out over the rooftops of East London and the distant skyscrapers in The City. However, you don't even have to go far to find things to do in the neighbourhood. Just around the corner, there's the Castle Cinema — an Art Deco building reopened after a local crowdfunding campaign — and Chatsworth Market, which runs every Sunday with a great range of independent stalls.

It might be a cliche to say that Hackney is one of the trendiest parts of London, but that doesn't mean it's not true – especially with homes like this to be discovered there. Spanning the top two floors of a former framer's workshop, this apartment in the heart of East London has it all — light, space, luxury and comfort.

There's a multitude of different spaces in which to relax, from the private reading library and rooftop terrace to the huge bedroom and the glass-walled bathroom complete with an elegant freestanding bathtub. The main living space is a thing of beauty too, thanks to the warehouse-style windows, dark floorboards and deliciously sleek kitchen.

One of our favourite things about the home, however, is the eclectic taste in interior design that makes it truly unique. As well as eye-catching pieces of artwork hanging on the walls, there are skulls acting as paperweights, an ornate chandelier in the bathroom and a vintage television in the living area.

This attention to stylish design feels entirely in keeping with the local neighbourhood, which is renowned for small galleries, trendy markets and quirky nightlife. Both Victoria and Mile End Parks can be reached in around ten minutes on foot too if you fancy a breath of fresh air.

This is a soulful space for those after a more alternative place to stay when they're visiting the UK's capital. Part of a converted former piano factory, the interior is instantly uplifting thanks to the array of bold modern artwork, statement wallpaper and house plants dotted about. You can tell it's been put together by somebody with an artistic disposition. It's up on the second floor with views from the Juliet balconies over the rooftops of Stoke Newington, a quiet neighbourhood with a great village vibe. If you want to explore, the host has left their Dutch bike and guests are free to borrow it. Alternatively, you can rent her car, which is parked in the on-site car park. Clissold Park is only two minutes' walk up the road and is home to a small deer farm. Likewise, Church Street takes only six minutes to reach on foot and offers cosy restaurants, traditional boozers and vintage shops.
