This baby blue timber lodge is just as cute on the inside as it is on the outside. As well as having all the essentials for a romantic getaway, there are house plants, colourful pieces of artwork and a turquoise accent wall to give the place a bit of character without overdoing it — one of the hosts is an interior designer, can't you tell? Out through the glass door, there's a large garden with a cosy seating area at the far end and plenty of potted plants dotted about. You'll find that there's a real sense of peace here. The local village of Banningham is small — albeit with a well-recommended gastropub — and there are plenty of outdoor excursions to fill your days with nearby. The birthplace of Anne Boleyn, Blickling Estate, takes ten minutes to reach in the car, while Cromer Beach is a seventeen-minute drive away, too.

Quaint and cosy, this old shoemaker's cottage in the heart of Cromer is a perfect seaside retreat for two. It's just a two-minute walk from Cromer Beach and the Victorian pier, making it a top-notch spot for couples to unwind. 

Inside, the home hasn't lost any of its traditional charm, thanks to the wooden floors, timber beams and vintage furniture. Lighthouses and wooden shoes line the shelves, paying homage to the cottage’s excellent seaside location as well as its history. The living room is warm and comfortable — on chilly nights, snuggle in front of the electric fire with a good book and a glass of wine. While the kitchen is on the smaller side, it still has everything you need to whip up a quick breakfast or light lunch.

As you walk into the main living area of this Grade-II listed townhouse, we're pretty sure that it'll be the view out of the window that first grabs your attention. From this excellent vantage point, you can see the windswept sea and sands of Cromer Beach stretching on for miles. However, when you manage to finally prise yourself away from this panorama, you'll notice that the home's interior is pretty impressive, too. Neutral walls and floors in washed-out shades lend the feel of a beach hut, but the decor is livened up by several knowingly retro touches, such as the brown leather dining chairs and the burnt orange fridge. There might be squabbles as to who gets one of the two four-poster beds, but the other bedrooms are just as tastefully appointed. As you can probably infer from the view, the beach and pier don't take long to reach — about three minutes on foot to be precise — while you can also get to Felbrigg Hall and Gardens in six minutes by car.

This pretty flint barn is just as characterful on the inside as it is on the outside. Relax under the warm wooden beams and exposed brick walls. In the morning, stroll down to the heated indoor pool and work up an appetite in the water before eating breakfast in the farmhouse kitchen. In the evening, gather in the lounge to have fun and play board games. Based just on the outskirts of Cromer, be sure to sample the town's iconic crab on your visit. Spend a day on the sandy beach, stroll on the pier and take in the traditional seafront food, independent shops and entertainment. That's when you're actually at the address, of course. With the wealth of distractions nearby, you might find you're away from the home more than you envisioned. The town of Cromer and its beach take no more than five minutes to reach in the car. In the other direction, Felbrigg Hall and Gardens can be reached in a similar amount of time.

With its large open-plan layout, the living area is the main social hub, perfect for cooking and chatting, dining, and spending quality time together. 

Step through the glass doors and into the garden, where you’ll find expansive lawns and plenty of comfortable seating. Plus, you’re ideally positioned for walking and cycling, and nearby Cromer Beach is just a short way away, offering entertainment for all ages. Guests keen on doing some shopping or in search of delicious food should head to Norwich for its many excellent restaurants, boutique shops and theatres, a short drive or an easy train ride away.

What's not to love about this coastal cottage? It sits on an acre of tree-lined gardens, with a natural brook running straight through the grounds. Just over the footbridge lies West Runton Common, where shops, pubs, a National Trust property and the sea are all within walking distance. It's a mere sixteen-minute stroll to the sandy beach and a nine-minute drive to Cromer – as far as locations go, you couldn't ask for better.

Inside, personal touches are everywhere, from the welcome hamper full of local goodies to the Alexa speakers with Spotify in every room. The heart of the home is the fully-stocked modern kitchen – we think it's a dream to cook in, especially with a glass of wine in hand, and the eight-seater dining table calls for family dinners and free-flowing conversation. While barbecues and cocktail hours in the garden are a must-do during the warmer months, we think there's no cosier spot to relax than the garden room. In the summer, the rain-sensitive electric roof slides open to reveal blue skies and refreshing sea air, while the open firebox and leather sofa are perfect for snuggling up in the winter.

You’ll find this charming brick and flint cottage in the heart of East Runton, a five-minute stroll to the beach and just 1.5 miles from the quintessentially British seaside town of Cromer. Spend your days exploring the area's many sandy beaches, hunt for Cromer's famous crabs or explore the National Trust land at West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath.

We love that the bedroom has been formed from the circular base of the lighthouse tower (though the bathroom is back up the stairs off the living room). And the good news is this lighthouse doesn't have a fog signal, so you won't be woken in the middle of the night. When you feel like exploring, a ten-minute stroll along the coastal path will take you to the North Norfolk town of Cromer, with its sandy beach and an array of shops and restaurants. Or for golf lovers, adjacent to the lighthouse is a golf course.

This converted coach house still retains its original charm – the interior is rustic yet elegant. We love the exposed beams, stone floors and high ceilings. In the cloakroom, you'll find ample space for buckets and spades, and we recommend heading out to the nearby Cromer Beach for the day (a twenty-minute drive). Cromer's Grade-II listed pier is just a seven-minute stroll away, and you'll love wandering along the beach esplanade with an ice cream in hand. The town has plenty of pubs and restaurants serving the famous Cromer crab, along with a selection of independent boutiques. And, with plenty of coastal walks in the surrounding Norfolk area, and a golf course just seven minutes away by car, you won't run out of things to do easily.

A perfect seaside nest for two, the roll-top bath is a delight for a pre-dinner soak – as is the elegant bedroom with one hug of a king-sized bed. And while there’s no outdoor space to speak of, we don’t think you’ll grumble with the beach this close.

With just a five-minute hop, skip, and a jump, you’ll be on its sandy shores – or perhaps a smidge longer with a pitstop at the cliff-top café along the way to grab coffee and pastries to go. For something a little heartier, the village pub won’t disappoint, neither will the 19th-century Sea Marge restaurant with lawns leading down to the sea. Then all that’s left to do is head for the beach for bracing walks that go on for miles. Or hop on a boat and explore the Broads – it’s like a trip back in time.

If you're looking to get away from it all, this home is in the ideal spot. All on the ground floor, it's set in a wing of a Grade II listed Palladian Villa and surrounded by 200 acres of unspoilt parkland. Originally built in the 1930s for use during the shooting season, the main part of this impressive house is now a family home. Beautiful arched windows let the sunlight stream into the spacious living room and offer views out over the grounds. 

Step straight from your door to explore the woodland, meadows and lakes of this vast estate – and if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of deers, badgers, otters and all kinds of birdlife. Or enjoy a few games of tennis on the owner's outdoor court. 

It's only a four-minute drive to the nearest pub, or it's a fifteen-minute ride to the delightful coastal town of Cromer with its pier walk, crabbing, and fish and chips by the shore. By day you can explore the area's sandy beaches, walk the Norfolk Coastal Path or discover the National Trust properties of Felbrigg Hall and the Blickling Estate (a ten and twenty-minute drive, respectively).

We didn't realise, you know, how many films have used Cromer as a film location – there are quite a few, so it's somewhat fitting that this home has its own cinema room with a huge flat-screen television. The kids will be delighted as there's also a games console to enjoy. 

We love the living room with its exposed brick walls, theatrical coloured lights and the large kitchen, which opens out onto the garden. Sip a cup of coffee or glass of wine here on warm evenings.

Then, head into Cromer for a meal at one of its many eateries. It’s no wonder this resort is a favourite with families – take a stroll down the pier and see the end-of-pier show (the only remaining one in the UK). There’s certainly plenty to do in this town – of course, there are the beaches and surfing hot spots, as well as the Amazona Zoo, the Cromer Museum and mini golf course. 

A bit further afield,  the vibrant town of Holt is around a twenty-minute drive away, while the 'capital of The Norfolk Broads', Wroxham, is around thirty-five minutes in the car. Norwich, on the other hand, can be reached in approximately forty minutes.

If the sun makes a regular appearance during your stay, the town's pier, esplanade and beach can all be reached in under ten minutes on foot, while Felbrigg Hall, Gardens and Estate take a similar amount of time to reach in the car.

Burning Love

This three-bedroom cottage in West Runton, a quaint village on the North Norfolk coast, offers an idyllic retreat for family and friends at any time of the year. In colder months, cosy up on the sofa beside the log fire and cook hearty meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. On sunny days, sit out in the garden or pack a picnic to take to the local blue-flag beach, just fifteen minutes’ walk away. There are three large bedrooms, one of which has patio doors leading out to the garden, and two bathrooms with rainfall showers (one over a bath). Days out can be spent walking the Norfolk Coastal Path or visiting the nearby seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer - be sure to try some of the latter's famous crab while you’re there. The village itself has several pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as a links golf course. Be sure to read up about the West Runton Elephant before your visit - the fossilized mammoth skeleton was discovered in the beach cliffs in 1990.

Sand & Shingle

This delightful home was once part of a Victorian villa. It’s been beautifully refurbished and now stands as a fabulous holiday home in the centre of Cromer. This coastal home is just a nine-minute walk from Cromer’s sandy Blue Flag beach, where you can admire the colourful beach huts and build sandcastles. The lovely pier is ten minutes away on foot, and you’re within easy reach of pubs, restaurants, and shops too. Cromer may be a seaside resort, but it’s popular year-round, and it’s easy to see why. 

In addition to boasting an excellent location right in the thick of things, this home has plenty of charm. It’s bright and stylish while still feeling oh-so-welcoming – it’s a real home from home. The open-plan kitchen and dining room are the heart of the home, where you’ll tuck into hearty breakfasts to set you up for the day, and unwrap takeaway fish and chips in the evening. If the weather turns chilly, you might curl up on the sofa in front of the wood burner. When it’s nice and warm though, you’ll want to sit out in the courtyard garden. Perhaps you’ll fire up the barbecue for dinner after spending the day at the beach, and sit out late feeling sun-kissed and relaxed.
