This Grade II listed Manor House is located in the Norfolk Broads National Park and has its own private waterway and a walled garden set in twelve acres of private parkland, providing a sense of English countryside tranquillity. 

We would love nothing more than to enjoy a lie-in here before taking a post-breakfast leisurely stroll around the garden. Or hop into the car and head to the beach – a short nine-minute drive away – to indulge in the soothing sounds of crashing waves and the soft sand beneath our feet. What’s more, the Norfolk Broads National Park provides great country walks, and its proximity to the coast means you can even go sea fishing.

In the late afternoon, why not enjoy a British afternoon tea in the garden on sunny days? Or, on rainy days, curl up with a good book in the home’s parlour, or spend a few cosy hours watching a movie in the cinema snug. 

On warm and dry days, a typical English summer barbecue is in order. So light the charcoals and cook up a smoky, delicious feast. If the weather means this isn’t possible, then the kitchen has plenty of space to create an equally as fantastic meal (and it even has two dishwashers). Then, after a family dinner, unwind with a relaxing bath in the freestanding bathtubs before it’s time to sleep in four-poster elegance.

Inside the home, a vast open plan living area, furnished with timeless furniture and decoration offers a sophisticated space to relax all year round. Whether you visit during the sunny summer's months or in the chill of winter, this home remains a warm, welcoming and tranquil place to retreat to when seeking an escape from the mundane. From the living space, large glass sliding doors invite in plenty of natural daylight from the outside patio – perfect for relaxing amidst the sea air. Located in the charming seaside village of Caister-on-Sea, just north of Great Yarmouth, it's the village's endless sandy beach that's the biggest draw, and rightly so. An ideal starting point for inspiring coastal walks to Hemsby, Winterton, or Great Yarmouth; there's plenty of Norfolk's expansive coastlines to discover from here. Or for a spot of culture, head to Caister's 15th-century old castle (five-minute drive away) - now home to a royal range of vintage cars. When tummies start to rumble, there are pubs for hearty grub within walking distance and, of course, an obligatory fish and chip shop. Or head home for a barbecue in your private enclosed garden, where kids and dogs can roam free with sandy toes. Inside, this home is perfectly set up for an easy family holiday. Upstairs there are smart, clutter-free spaces, including a nursery room with a cot ready to go. Downstairs, the large breakfast bar in the kitchen is a fantastic spot to all come together to rustle up breakfast and hatch plans for a day exploring. Although with that glorious beach just a stroll away, we wouldn't blame you if you stayed precisely where you are.

If you’re looking for a real away-from-it-all retreat that’s truly one of a kind, then look no further than this home on the Norfolk Coast. Featured on Channel 4's Homes by the Sea, it’s located right next to the dunes at Winterton-on-Sea, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A former working lighthouse, it’s perfect for a peaceful stay with a surreal fairytale quality. When we visited, we were particularly impressed by the unusual round rooms that stack up on top of one another. Once filled with nautical equipment, these are now well designed spaces with beautiful furniture and objects, including an impressive library, bunk-bed room for kids, living room, and finally a lofty viewing platform bedroom (not for the faint hearted). Down on ground level you’ll find a contemporary open-plan space where you can cook in the shiny stainless steel kitchen or bask in the warmth of the wood burner as you eat dinner in the relaxed dining area. Folding doors give access out into the small garden for picnics or al fresco breakfasts. Families in particular will love the easy access to seaside life, including great fish and chips, good local pubs, parks and boat-trips. The Norfolk Broads is also nearby; the UK's largest wetland area, it's perfect for boating, cycling and walking. In short, this is a great home for those who want to experience everything a Norfolk staycation has to offer, while staying somewhere with real wow factor.

Just on the outskirts of the pretty village of Filby, a short walk from the broad and a seven-minute drive from the sea, this home is in the perfect spot for exploring the best of Norfolk. Tucked away in a quiet country lane, it's a charming home with tonnes of character, ideal for a family or a small group of friends.

There's nothing dull or neutral about the interior, decorated with bold colours, quirky ornaments, vintage treasures and modern art. The heart of the home is the family room and kitchen, with its stone floor and huge kitchen island. There's a dining table as well as a breakfast bar and squashy leather sofa, so it's a big, sociable space with skylights and double doors out to the garden. A snug just around the corner is the perfect place to cuddle up in front of a film and there's a log burner for added cosiness in the winter.

But what we really love about this place is the outdoor space, which had us trying to work out how we could copy it at home. The gravel patio features an outdoor sofa for drinks in the sun while the lawn is flat and safe for children to play on. And at the end of the garden, a beautiful oak-framed shelter means you can barbecue and eat outdoors no matter the weather. Complete with bunting, a little bar and a mini-fridge, it's more than a little dreamy.

From here it's just a short stroll to the nearby pub and village shop, with Norfolk's beautiful beaches at Caister-on-Sea less than a ten-minute drive and Great Yarmouth just a little further.

Hello blue Sky

Part of a striking period building close to the centre of this buzzing seaside town, the home is modern, spacious and effortlessly cool. Once a post office, this building still retains features like its impressive windows and partially tiled, loft-style walls. But the real showstopper is the incredible vaulted ceiling, with exposed metal struts and a clever mezzanine level above the open-plan living space. Here you and your group can spread out on the comfy sofa, cook meals while chatting over the unique breakfast bar and eat at the industrial dining table. And we absolutely love the vast master bedroom up in the eaves. Surrounded by steel girders and with its own lounge area and bathroom, it's a luxurious and quirky place to sleep. Here you'll be just a ten-minute walk from the seafront and beach, with all sorts of attractions, shops and restaurants right outside your door.

Colourful and modern, this stylish flat overlooks the plaza and has plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable. A fully-equipped kitchen means families can rustle up a meal and dine together, while the cosy living room is the place to kick back and unwind. Fans of bright hues will love this home as you'll find lime green dining chairs, vibrant rugs and bold orange paint inside. But it's not a total explosion of colour – the flashy shades are paired with sleek furniture and white walls, so although the vibe is funky, it's still a relaxing respite after a day in the sun. Speaking of fun in the sunshine, this apartment is in the heart of Great Yarmouth, overlooking the plaza. Britannia Pier and its slew of attractions is a ten-minute walk away, while an eight-minute stroll will take you to the beach. Grab a towel and sprawl out the sandy coastline while the kids splash in the waves. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes in town when you grow peckish, but being so close to everything means you can easily pop home for lunch if you fancy it. Safe to say, this is an excellent family pad for a seaside getaway.

While this is a modern build, and a well-presented one at that, there's a warmth here with the vibrant scatter cushions, comfy throws and green houseplants that makes it feel like home right away. The real highlight of the apartment is outside space – complete with garden furniture, a barbecue and a tall wooden fence for added privacy – sitting out on the patio with a glass of chilled wine is a dreamy way to bookmark any day if you ask us. Perfectly placed, walk to sandy Great Yarmouth Beach in less than twelve minutes and be at Nelson's Monument and the lively town centre in under half an hour. We'd especially recommend a trip to the Merrivale Model Village if you're after a fun family day out – as with most of the popular attractions, it's well within reach here. 

Town Is By The Sea

With three great waterways clamouring for your attention – the River Yare, Breydon Water lake, and the North Sea – the town of Great Yarmouth is quite the destination for watersports fans and beach bums. An eight-minute walk to Great Yarmouth Beach, this penthouse flat is perfectly located for shaking off the sand and cosying up after a long day of exploring. Set in a majestic, red-brick building in a Victorian style, you’ll be impressed from the offset. Ascending to the top floor, it only gets better. From up here, you’ve got gorgeous views of local sights like St George’s Plaza from a triple set of sash windows in the lounge. Pop a bottle of prosecco, say cheers to the start of the holiday, and check out the bustling scene below. In contrast, the apartment is fairly understated. Minimalist furniture and a sleek, white kitchen create a calming atmosphere, but a playful edge comes through with the dark turquoise feature wall. It’s a similar story in the bedrooms, with neutral tones, white, and yellow dominating the colour palette – ideal for relaxing after you return from an evening in the pub.

This rural home in Ludham is a little traditional, and you won’t find any modern features here, though it’s a comfortable and cosy space to return to at the end of a day at Horsey Gap Beach. The garden allows you to make the most of the sunshine, and while the fireplace is only decorative, the living room is a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine.

The kitchen is generously sized with all appliances included and a table and chairs to seat four. There are two bedrooms upstairs: the front bedroom has two single beds, while the back bedroom boasts a solid oak king-size bed with an excellent view of the dunes. Outside, there is off-road parking for one car, with space for another nearby. The yard is fully enclosed with 6ft gate and fencing all around, making it very secure. The village has a dog-friendly pub, cafes, small stores, and a fish & chip shop. Short breaks are available year-round with discounts for single occupancy.

In the evening, when the weather allows it, we would love nothing more than to dine alfresco in the garden at this home. Then, snuggle up inside with a good book or play a board game together.

If you’re keen to explore, grab your binoculars and head over to Upton Fen to catch sight of buzzards and march harriers. Spend balmy afternoons strolling along the unspoilt beaches of Caister-on-Sea, reached in twenty minutes by car, or head into the city of Norwich to sample the fantastic selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.

Although the Norfolk coastline is only half an hour's drive away, you don't even have to get in the car if you fancy a refreshing dip while staying here. Out in the garden, a heated swimming pool will be the place to play and relax all throughout the summer months.

When the British weather has other ideas, however, there's plenty to like about the home's interior, too. This cosy home sits on the Broads National Park border, which boasts over 125 miles of tranquil rivers and lakes that you can explore. Fritton Lake is a six-minute drive or a thirty-minute walk – spend a day out kayaking, or head out to the Norfolk beaches – Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are both around twenty minutes in the car. 

When you return, this home will greet you like a hot cup of cocoa – the muted wall colours are soothing. Whip up some dinner with some fresh, local Norfolk produce and enjoy the fruits of your labour at the dining table. This place is ideal for a family – there are board games aplenty to keep everyone occupied. The master bedroom even has a jacuzzi-style bath, inviting you to have a soak after a long country walk.

You'll be situated in the beautiful resort town of Great Yarmouth where you can find a ton of delicious eateries from around the world as well as many shops to browse. Wander the streets to discover the amazing choice of museums and art galleries too, such as the National Trust Elizabethan House and the riverside Yare Gallery. There's enough space for up to four of your furry friends to join, with a lavish fleece-lined bed for each, throws for those that just won't stay off the sofa, an enclosed garden and a special dog hamper to welcome them. Two-legged guests will love the open-plan living and dining area, the AGA in the kitchen, comfy sofas and plenty of games. You'll definitely want to keep the dogs out of the bedrooms, though, as the Egyptian cotton bedding is far too sumptuous to share. Nearby there are lots of dog-friendly woodland and beach walks, and local pub The Star Inn will be happy to welcome you and your tail-wagging companions. After a day out exploring the best of the north Norfolk coast, treat yourself to a soak in the hot tub looking out over the surrounding fields. If you want to explore further afield, head twenty miles north to Cromer, known as 'the gem of the Norfolk coast'. We think it makes for the 'ulti-mutt' escape.

Spend a day exploring the grounds or spot the local birdlife on a water-trail boat tour on The Broads. Not all the best attractions are saved for the summer months – head to Horsey Beach in the winter to see the grey seals during the birthing season. Regardless of the time of year, this piece of sandy beach is a pleasure all year round – you might still catch views of seals who’ve stuck around for some sun. If you're seeking a culinary experience, there are some charming local pubs in the area. As evening rolls around, pocket a few balls on the pool table, and enjoy a round of table tennis or air hockey, before sinking into the garden hot tub for a soak session under the stars.

Gatehouse Gardens

If you're travelling with furry friends in tow, look no further than this thatched-roof cottage close to the Norfolk coastline. 

Throws for sofas, dog bowls, bags and biscuits all come as standard. Tiled floors downstairs mean there’s no need to worry about muddy paw prints on carpets, and if you don’t fancy one of the many great walks on the doorstep, you can just let them exercise themselves in the garden. Even the local pub — the Lessingham Star, a couple of minutes’ walk — is dog-friendly.

Of course, you don’t need a hound to enjoy this fantastic house. The owners are former residents and it still very much has the feel of a family home. Downstairs, there are plenty of cosy living rooms and snugs in which to rest up after long rambles. In the country-style kitchen, there's an electric range oven for the full rural fantasy, although there's a barbecue out on the terrace if the weather's on your side. Come nighttime, you might be able to see bats or hear owls, foxes and deer from the nearby woodland.

When you want an afternoon out, there's a hedge-lined grassy track that will take you to Sea Palling beach in twenty minutes' walk and the Norfolk Broads can be reached in no more than five minutes in the car. The city of Norwich is a forty-five-minute drive away, too.





The Thatcher's Cottage

Take yourself away from the everyday humdrum and head to the pretty Broadland village of Barton Turf, where this one-bed former farm building offers a sleepy idyll free from obligation. Fling open the French doors for views over rolling farmland – a small patio table is an ideal spot to sip wine with your other half – or indeed, by yourself in blissful solitude. You might spot marsh harriers, deer, hares or even badgers. 

Inside, you’ll find a roomy breakfast bar and a cosy living area. After a cup of tea on the comfortable sofa, strap on your hiking boots and explore. Follow bridleways through the surrounding countryside or charter a day boat and pootle along the River Ant. In the nearby village of Neatishead, a leisurely thirty-five-minute walk away, you’ll find a traditional pub – it’s the perfect place to refuel after an exciting day navigating the Broads and beyond.
