Each room tells a different story, with unique finds ranging from antique plates to watchful bird art and even a crocodile in the downstairs loo – a model one, don't be alarmed! At every turn, this stunning home manages to surpass expectations.

In the ten acres of grounds surrounding the property, you'll discover a heated swimming pool, a barbecue, a huge alfresco dining area and manicured gardens where you can escape for a moment's peace. Say hello to the bantam chickens wandering about, too – they're sure to be firm friends by the end of your stay. There's even a games room so you can start up a table tennis tournament or practise your putting on the mini-green. 

When you fancy a day out, the stately home and gardens at Canons Abbey are twenty minutes away in the car, while the ears of motorsports fans are certain to prick up when they hear the journey to Silverstone's hallowed circuit takes about half that time.

This beautifully renovated barn is situated in a stunning, secluded position on the edge of Long Itchington village in Warwickshire. Guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding farmland from all aspects of the property. The village's pond and green are within walking distance, where visitors can find a pub for local beer and good food. The barn sleeps eight guests (maximum six adults) and features four bedrooms, including one en-suite bathroom, two en-suite shower rooms, and one family shower room. A walled, gravelled courtyard with a slate patio and lawned areas offers a relaxing outdoor space for guests to unwind. Families with children are welcome, with a travel cot, high chair, and stairgate available upon request. Parking for up to four vehicles is available, and there is WiFi throughout the property. Beautiful bi-fold doors provide plenty of light inside this single-level barn, which was once a grain store. We love the gorgeous stone floor and exposed wooden roof beams framing the high ceiling. A fresh colour scheme of pale cream, yellows and greys complement the rustic yet stylish design. If you can tear yourself away from this love nest, there's plenty to explore. Go for a walk to the historic riverside village of Bidford-on-Avon, sixteen minutes on foot, where you'll find an array of charming pubs, restaurants, shops, and a picturesque church built in 1250. Or visit Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, around a twenty-five-minute drive, while stunning Warwick Castle is a few minutes more in the car. The magnificent Cotswolds are on your doorstep too – Hidcote Manor Garden, near Chipping Campden, just over a fifteen-minute ride, which has one of Britain's most influential Arts and Crafts gardens.

But our favourite bit is the four-poster, king-size bed which guarantees a luxurious night’s sleep. just what you need after a day tackling some of the best hiking routes in the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds Way runs right by the cottage and walks around Sudeley Castle are just a few miles away.

Dating back to the 1800s, this Grade II-listed barn is now a comfortable home-from-home. Underfloor heating keeps toes warm for visits during the cooler months, and the indoor climbing wall and gym equipment will keep active types occupied. When the sun does shine, there’s a dining table and chairs on the decking for alfresco lunches. The Chiltern Hills are on the doorstep, and the Black Lion pub is a fifteen-minute walk away. If you’d like to swap the countryside for some hustle and bustle, High Wycombe is reached in less than twenty minutes by car.


Chilterns Charm

This old dairy, set on the Burghley Estate, is a peaceful getaway for large groups and makes a pretty picture for small celebrations. Throughout the restoration of the dairy and its conversion into cottages, an emphasis remained on the history of this building, and plenty of the original features remain to make this a charming and comfortable stay. With two wings, it also grants everyone plenty of space, though the mezzanine bedrooms can only be accessed through several ground-floor rooms, which might not feel the most private. Still, it's a beautiful space, and the estate is within the Capability Brown Parkland, first landscaped in the early 1700s and still as lush and inviting, perfect for walks with the dogs.

Once an old tailor's workshop dating back to 1906, the owners have lovingly restored the original timber-framed and corrugated iron building, keeping much of its characterful history intact while bringing a freshness and individuality to its renovation through thoughtful repurposing.
 
The main living space stunningly contrasts vintage industrial pieces with contemporary modern furnishings to create a boutique atmosphere in which you’ll love relaxing. We love the warmth of the wooden panelling offset by the simple white floors, as well as the midnight blue walls courtesy of Farrow & Ball. The long, rustic dining table beckons celebratory meals and sets a tone of conviviality that is felt throughout, while a Czech pommel horse works as a coffee table next to a Victorian sofa, creating a blend of textures and eras that feels like a seamless step through history.  Factor in the industrial pendants hanging from the ceiling, not to mention the wonderfully comfortable bed dressed in Egyptian cotton sheets, as well as the gorgeous copper shower, and you’ve got everything you need for a singularly stylish stay. 
 
Your locale in the heart of the quintessential Cotswold village of Woodmancote makes it easy to explore this bucolic region, with countless picture-book towns and villages a short car journey away. Cirencester is a twelve-minute drive, Bibury is reachable in twenty-two, while Cheltenham is twenty-three minutes away by car.

After many years unoccupied, this former barn was treated to a complete revamp in the late 2010s. Today, a remarkable home awaits guests visiting rural Oxfordshire. Huge glass walls and stark white walls mean that the space feels immediately bright and inviting, while there's a superb mix of modern touches and more homely furnishings — bold pieces of artwork and the sleek grey kitchen sit quite happily alongside deep red rugs and picnic baskets repurposed as coffee tables.

Out through the glass doors, there's a charming walled garden complete with a lawn, patio and neat plant beds. Bat boxes and an owl loft have also been incorporated into the property to help the local wildlife. If you fancy a little more nature-spotting, there are plenty of walking routes throughout the surrounding Blenheim Estate. The city of Oxford takes around twenty-five minutes to reach in the car, too.

Welcome to a rural retreat that serves up not only the perfect idyllic location, surrounded by fields but also bags of style and comfort. There's nothing rustic about this place, with underfloor heating, window walls and a high-end kitchen and bathroom. A modern oak barn that feels private and secluded, it's the ideal space to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace of life.

Start your day with coffee at the breakfast bar, and decide between a long walk in the Chilterns and exploring the nearby towns and villages (we recommend the market town of Thame, just an eight-minute drive away). The original features, like the working fireplace and traditional windows, make the space feel cosy despite the large size. With ample space for socialising, it would suit a larger group looking to be well-placed to explore the charming villages of the Cotswolds.

Sat within the grounds of a working farm in rural Oxfordshire, this cottage is as cute as a button. The interior has been fully modernised — save for the stone fireplace — although it still feels homely thanks to the rural artwork on the walls and the plush furnishings. Add to that a sleek tub in the bathroom and relaxing should be no problem at all.

That's even more so the case on summer afternoons, as there's a garden with seating and a table. When you grow tired of idling in the sunshine — if you do — you're in an ideal spot for outdoor excursions. The Cotswolds AONB can be reached in around twenty minutes' drive, as can Blenheim Palace and the surrounding parkland. Closer to home, there are a pair of pubs and a cafe in the local village of Adderbury, only twenty minutes away on foot.

The building in which this apartment sits has had many functions in its near-two-century history — straw hat factory, corn merchants and estate agents to name a few. Today, however, you'll find a gloriously contemporary home that'll help you have an exemplary stay in Dunstable.

As you look around for the first time, you'll feel instantly at peace, something to do with the soothing greys used throughout. In the living room, a pair of purple sofas, parquet flooring and the chandelier make for a classy space in which to unwind, while the sleek corner kitchen is plenty big enough for cooking up special dinners.

As is the case with many period properties, there's an inordinate amount of natural light from the tall (triple glazed) windows — what else were you to do before the widespread introduction of electric lighting? — but you can also head down to the building's communal courtyard for your fix of Vitamin D, too. There's seating and a table, as well as free Pashley Cycle hire for the duration of your stay.

In local Dunstable, there are enough restaurants and cafes to keep you going, and there's a wealth of attractions that are easily reached nearby. London is only an hour away by train, but slightly closer to home, the Chiltern Hills AONB is rich with walking routes and historic sites — Ashridge Estate is twenty minutes' drive, for instance.

Think honey-brown stone walls with an A-frame doorway, and a private garden bursting with bloom fit for the Chelsea Flower Show. Spend sunny days gathered together on the lawn, listening to birds sing and breathing in the fresh and flowery scent of the cottage garden.

Inside, it’s an ode to cottage-core living, with wooden beams running along low ceilings and the old stone bread oven in the living room harking back to the cottage's 400-year history. Set in the centre of the Cotswolds, you are perfectly positioned for exploring the north and south of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at your leisure. The picturesque town of Bibury is just a ten-minute drive away, while Roman ruins lie six minutes in the other direction in Cirencester. Closer to home, why not take a stroll to The Gilbertine for a spot of brunch, or try out the Village Inn at Barnsley, or The Crown at Ampney, both just a five-minute drive away.

Bursting with Bloom

You’ll find this renovated church in the village of Paxford, an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It may not be suitable for children due to the staircase design and historic fixtures throughout the home, but it offers a relaxing retreat for four guests.
