Its picture-book natural beauty – with access to open meadows and fields right outside your doorstep – is the first thing you’ll notice, but inside is just as idyllic. Upon crossing the threshold, you’ll find a bright, open-plan living space with a comfy lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining nook for two. The king-size bedroom is made for lazy mornings, and the sunny front patio is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Venture out to the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park, or take a short drive to Oxford.

While the courtyard is accessible and shared with residents of two other apartments, the garden is not, though the home's location in Burford means you'll be around half an hour's drive from some of the area's most famous cities and charming towns.

Set across one floor, the rooms are cosy and family-friendly with plenty of space to socialise in the open-plan living room. There is also a private garden with a terrace and barbecue – perfect for warm-weather dining. And when it comes to local produce, you’ll be spoiled for choice thanks to the close proximity to Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Daylesford Organic – both just a short drive away.

With its 16th-century character and wealth of amenities, this manor home is an absolute dream. Inside, space is anything but tight. In addition to the two cosy sitting rooms – both with woodburning stoves – you'll find a large kitchen, formal dining room, and a piano area for budding musicians. There's plenty of room for children and pups to run amuck while adults enjoy a sundowner or two. Location-wise, Shifford is driving distance from Burford, Oxford, and the Cotswolds – all great options for day trips.

You’ll find this cottage in the most historic part of picturesque Burford. Grade II listed and dating back to the 1500s, this home blends old-world charm and modern comforts. Curl up beside the wood-burning stove beneath wooden beams, and listen to the church bells ring on the hour. The classic country cottage garden is a wonderful spot for a barbecue – you can see neighbours coming and going thanks to its higgledy piggledy nature. Discover atmospheric pubs a few minutes away, set off on country walks, and visit beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water, just 9 miles away. 

The Bell Ringers

Set along the lane which inspired L.S Lowery in his Burford Church painting, this cottage is tucked away from visitors and is one of just four on the road which remains part of Burford Boarding School. A peaceful spot, the cottage is just a minute’s walk from the medieval bridge crossing the River Windrush and all the town’s shops, pubs and restaurants. 

With its distinctive honey-coloured Cotswold stone facade, and an Art Deco panel in the front door – the home a nod's not only to the town's extensive history but also to its link to the Art and Crafts Movement. Upon entering the home you'll be warmly welcomed by a typically English countryside retreat revealing an open plan layout featuring a cosy kitchen, dining area and living area with a wood-burning stove. 

At the back of the cottage, you'll find a hidden garden with a patio, small lawn with a garden bench, planted borders as well as a cute little summer house – perfect for sitting with a book amidst the peace and quiet. The east-west orientation of the garden means it has sunshine on it – weather permitting – throughout the day and on into the evening, making it an idyllic spot for a morning coffee through to evening drinks.

When you're ready to explore the local area, stretch your legs with a blissful country walk around the Cotswolds. Try a five-mile walk out of Burford to Great and Little Barrington along the Windrush Valley and back again, or there's always the option of the two-hour circular walk taking in Fulbrook and Woodford on your way. Burford garden centre is only a mile away and you'll conveniently find the nearest pub (The Highway Inn) just 300 metres away. 

When you arrive home, you needn't worry about traipsing mud through the cottage as there is a handy boot room with a sink, hooks to hang coats, plenty of space to keep boots and shoes. 


The Blue Poppy

Tucked in the pretty village of Milton-under-Wychwood, this home opens its doors to a cosy Cotswolds stay. Stepping inside, you’ll be welcomed by snug rooms, an open-fire and all the essentials you could need to settle in and unwind. There’s also a garden and a patio with a barbecue for warm weather days. Private parking is available for one car and it’s just a short stroll to an award-winning pub. It’s also a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. From here, it’s just a short drive to Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Sitting on the edge of the Cotswolds, this pet-friendly barn conversion overlooks the River Windrush water meadows. While some spots of this home have reduced privacy, including the mezzanine bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with two access points, we love the open-concept living space for casual itinerary planning. The complimentary starter pack and baby travel equipment offer bonuses, but there are gaps in the garden fence which makes supervision necessary. With ample parking, ticking Blenheim Palace and the Bodleian Library off your bucket list is easy.

Windrush Whispers

Close to the Cotswold hot-spots of Burford, Lechlade and Bibury, this Grade II-listed property dates back to the 17th Century and was recently lovingly restored to sleep up to 11 guests. It still feels like a traditional home, with its flagstones, mullioned windows and fantastic fireplace, but with all the modern amenities you need. Only a 5-minute drive to the year-round Cotswold Wildlife Park, there’s also a critically-acclaimed gastropub less than 100m away. With a mature southwest-facing walled garden, patio, barbecue for warmer months, snuggle up by the fire, relax in the hot tub, or pack your wellies for scenic walks direct from the front door when it's cooler. It sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Shipton-under-Wychwood, close to other chocolate box villages including Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, and Chipping Norton. The Oxfordshire Way passes close to the cottage, making this an excellent choice for keen walkers and cyclists. The cottage looks out over fields and boasts a charming garden – you can unwind here. Inside, you’ll find vintage-style wallpaper and textiles, antique furniture, and a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy. We think you’ll love it.
