This apartment is steeped in history and has some gorgeous original features, including spectacular bay windows in the living room, an ornate stone fireplace and buffed wooden floors. East of the Cotswolds in the village of Eynsham, this eye-catching home is defined by its confident design choices. With a library so tall you'll need a ladder to reach the upper shelves, the double height living area stands out, as does the expansive kitchen with its turquoise walls and wood-topped island. The four bedrooms are perfectly comfy, though only two offer a king size bed, while there's a range of amenities across the two bathrooms and WC including a striking roll top bathtub. You'll also have access to the pleasant green garden, though we'd advise caution with some of the steeper banks. Eynsham is home to several charming pubs and shops, with Oxford and Burford both in easy reach.

This home is just as charming as the idyllic town in which it sits. The interior eschews minimalism for full-on floral patterns, characterful pieces of botanical artwork and vintage-inspired furnishings — can you honestly say you weren't happy to see that four-poster bed?

While the kitchen may be on the smaller side and lacks a hob, oven or cooking facilities, fortunately, there are plenty of restaurants in Woodstock, from a brasserie to less formal pubs. In addition, Blenheim Palace and its surrounding parkland can be entered in three mintues' walk from your front door.
