Morning, afternoon or evening, the scenery is sure to take your breath away. Perfect for families, there's plenty of space inside and out to get cosy. On summer days, enjoy alfresco meals in the sunshine or laze on the sun loungers with a good book and glass of wine. Our favourite part, however, is the bubbling hot tub. In the evenings, soak your troubles away with a dip under the stars – turn on the LED lighting to set the mood. Even inside, you can make the most of the view, thanks to the French doors. It's warm and inviting, especially when the wood-burning stove is lit. Snuggle up for a family movie night on the squishy sofas – there's a DVD player and a selection of films to choose from – before retiring to the sumptuous bedrooms. Be sure to pack your walking boots. Not only are there trails and an orchard inside the park to explore, but Strawberry Line and Cheddar Gorge are both a short drive away. Within the region, just four miles from Cheddar Gorge, and a twenty-five-minute drive to the coastal plains of Somerset Levels, this modern eco-cottage is simply immersed in natural beauty. Its wooden exterior blends in nicely with the woodlands and trails nearby, but there are a few features which are somewhat out of the ordinary for a rural escape. First off, the hot tub. That said, we think you might be spending a lot of time at home. This wooden lodge might look understated, but the interiors are superbly stylish, modern, and playful. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the home with light, bringing the outside in – and thanks to certain luxury features, your host has made the 'great outdoors' into the 'fabulous outdoors'. There’s no better way to embrace the ethereal Somerset countryside around Glastonbury than staying in a converted church. In the evening, the stained-glass windows of this gothic church still glow against the landscape, as a roaring wood-burning stove warms up the open living space inside. 30-foot, knaved ceilings inside let the chatter of good times rise to the Gods and there’s a banquet-sized dining table for the whole group on the mezzanine level. Admire the rose stained-glass windows as you sup. 

The kitchen is tucked away and has everything you need for self-catering One of our favourite spots is the sunroom, set with tables and chairs for an idyllic afternoon tea. Either that or the hand-painted claw-foot tub in the main bathroom – ideal for a soak after hiking up Glastonbury Tor. Or, soak the day away in the outdoor hot tub.

This church is tucked into the hamlet of East Horrington, a ten-minute drive from the Cathedral town of Wells where you’ll find shops, cafés and plenty of places to eat. It’s a twenty-minute drive to Glastonbury and the countryside in between is full of walking and cycling trails to explore.

For splendid seclusion set out in the Somerset countryside, this beautiful barn conversion is the perfect escape for couples and families looking to slow down and enjoy each others company. Viewed from the outside, the building wears its humble origins with pride, but sleek skylights and floor-to-ceiling panes of glass looking out over the landscaped garden allude to what lies in store. The open-plan kitchen/dining/living area is the heart of the home, with plenty of natural light and comfy seating beneath its vaulted ceilings. A fab wood burner that serves to heat the entire space and makes for a welcome spot to huddle around after wintry walks. Blue kitchen units, an electric range cooker and a rustic dining table only enhance the contemporary farmhouse style. Elsewhere on the ground floor, you'll find a couple of cosy and inviting bedrooms (one with an en-suite bathroom), both with direct garden access. Clamber up the oak staircase, and there's one final bedroom that makes for a tranquil retreat at the end of the day. Outside, the garden offers a lovely spot to relax and reflect, with views overlooking the surrounding countryside. There's plenty of seating that makes for fantastic alfresco feasts, while the firepit ensures you can enjoy gazing up at the stars well after the heat of the day has ebbed away. After a day walking through the fields, we can think of nothing better than returning home for a soothing soak in the covered hot tub. The locale is quintessentially Somerset – with the seaside town of Weston Super Mare, stunning Cheddar Gorge, the festival town of Glastonbury and the city of Wells, between ten and forty minutes' drive away.

Watch the sun set over the Somerset hills from the lush grounds – we love the stunning views from here. Later, relax in the hot tub or have a soak in the gorgeous slipper bath. When you're ready to venture out, the Georgian splendour of Bath is a twenty-minute drive away. Spend the day exploring the Royal Crescent, the Circus and the Roman Baths, as well as the many museums such as the Jane Austen Centre. Then unwind at the Thermae Bath Spa with its roof-top pool. For a more relaxed pace, there's a pub and café for lunch in Timsbury, around a five-minute stroll. Or put on your hiking boots and explore the glorious Somerset countryside.

If you like the idea of escaping the city for a charm-filled cottage, but could do without dusty beams and draughty doors, this is the right home for you. 

The cottage is warm and welcoming, the perfect setting for a romantic escape. Curl up on the sofa and admire the lush garden as you sip Champagne. When the weather is fine, open up the glass doors to create a stunning indoor/outdoor space. Whip up meals in the kitchen to enjoy outside in the garden, or fire up the barbecue for a real alfresco treat – you might like to walk to the nearby farm shop for local goodies to cook. Soak up the sunshine outside and enjoy the countryside views. In the evening, get cosy around the fire pit before sinking into the oh-so-comfortable bed upstairs. 

You could happily spend your days here, playing board games, reading, and admiring the garden, but if you do want to explore further afield, you have plenty of choice. The East Mendip Way passes right by the cottage, so bring your hiking boots if you want to get a bit closer to the Great Outdoors. It takes thirty-two minutes to drive to Bath, where you can admire the Roman Baths and explore the galleries, museums and theatres – not to mention the excellent array of eateries. Or perhaps you’ll just pootle around the countryside, popping into charming villages – Mells and Bruton are close by – and country pubs whenever the fancy strikes? Soho House members will enjoy its proximity to Babington House. However you spend your time here, you’ll love having such a delightful place to call home.
