With a fire pit, EV charger, and private patio, it’s a thoughtful retreat for two and even the dogs can come too.

 Chew Valley Charm

While Wells may be one of the smallest cities in England, it’s bursting with things to see and do. This charming cottage puts you right at the heart of the city’s historic centre, within walking distance of the famous cathedral, market and an array of shops and eateries, meaning you can leave the car at home. The neighbouring cities like Bath and Glastonbury are also easily accessible by bus, meaning you can tick several places off your bucket list in one stay. The cottage itself has a cosy air thanks to a log burner exposed stone fireplace, offering a warm space to gather at the end of each day.


Wandering Wells

This eco-lodge in Somerset sets the stage for a romantic weekend getaway. Life here is about spending quality time in each other's company. Dusky pinks and pops of bright blue create an open-plan living area that's soothing yet vibrant at the same time. Throw open the French doors for seamless indoor-outdoor living and a peek at the private hot tub and the countryside beyond. Spend long summer afternoons relaxing on the stylish loungers. Then, once the sun sets behind the Mendip Hills, slip into the hot tub with a glass of fizz. If you're looking to explore further afield, head to the beautiful town of Bath – a forty-five-minute drive away. The spa-like feel of this stay will have you wanting to extend your holiday soon after you even arrive.


The Gorge

This wood-clad cabin sits at the bottom of the Mendip Hills, surrounded by the beautiful Somerset countryside. Spot wildlife in the Rodney Stoke Nature Reserve, a twenty-minute walk away, or dander into the village of Draycott in ten minutes. And it’s forty minutes on foot along the walking trails into Cheddar town, where you can stock up on the region’s famous protected cheese. Perhaps a grilled cheese toastie on the wood-fired brick barbecue is on the cards when you get back. There’s plenty of room to dine and lounge outside on the wrap-around terrace. Or, fire up the hot tub for a post-hike soak and watch the sunset over the rolling Mendip Hills around you. Floor to ceiling glass doors open up to blend indoors with outdoors and mean you can enjoy the view even when the weather is moody and dramatic, from the comfort of the sofa. The kitchen has everything you need for family meals (macaroni cheese with oodles of Cheddar cheese, perhaps?) and you’ll soon drift off to the land of nod in sprawling king-size beds and peaceful surrounds.

Get Cosy is a perfect little spot to escape to when you need a few days out in nature. This eco-friendly lodge, furnished with high-quality furniture and amenities is located in the heart of the Somerset countryside — far away from the hustle and bustle of any big city. The patio offers lively views and will hopefully help you decide on where to go for a walk and when you come back, soak in the jacuzzi and then cook a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen. The wrap-around terrace is also furnished with a barbecue and a hanging chair, so in the warmer months, most of your time will be spent outside. In the evening, make a dent in your watch list with the help of the big screen TV and then retreat to the luxurious bedroom. 

Get Cosy

Honey Dust's location is something we call 'just right'. It's rural and remote but equipped with modern amenities and is well-connected to a number of Somerset’s sights. Your surroundings are renowned for wildlife and many of the neighbouring towns host farmers' markets – note that you're in Cheddar, so you can get some amazing cheese in the village, just a five-minute drive away. The eco-lodge itself is modern, sleek, and comfortable. You have a beautiful kitchen at your disposal, great for preparing meals to be served on the raised terrace. After a good feasting, enjoy a digestif on the loungers and see if you can spot any rare birds. With a private hot tub, the soaking schedule is completely up to you, as is the time you spend doing nothing but relaxing. In the evening, enjoy a movie night by the wood-burning stove and then retreat to the luxurious bedrooms for a silent night’s sleep.

Honey Dust

Escape to the country with a stay at this large home near Glastonbury. Surrounded by hills, gorges and moorland, the property is perfect for people who love a good walk. Cute market towns, such as Glasto and Bridgewater, add to the bucolic vibe. Recently renovated, the living room is cosy and bright, the bedrooms are light, and we love the large open-plan kitchen ¬– a great place to socialise with friends and family. Plus, the huge garden gets lots of sun in the afternoon. 

Festival House 

This beautiful home, designed by an architect in the 60s, has views, location and mid century charm on its side, and it’s just waiting to welcome you on your next getaway. Only minutes away from Glastonbury high street, spend the morning exploring the quaint shops, sitting down for a coffee at one of the local cafes, and discovering crystals, Norse-inspired curios, and more. Of course, exploring the Tor is a must and although seeing St Michael’s Tower is a unique experience at any time of day, we especially recommend climbing the hill before dusk to watch the sun rise over the valley below. 

Back home, you’ll forget how close you are to town once you’ve settled into the seclusion on offer. Most likely due to the cocoon of natural vegetation and lush garden, but this home really does feel like your own little paradise, and nothing will highlight quite how idyllic it is like the sunken cedarwood hot tub after sun down. Stargaze in between bouts of laughter as you trade stories about the day’s adventures and simply enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful space. 

Midcentury in Somerset

In the tranquil setting of the Mendip Hills, one of only forty-six places in the UK awarded the title 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', this cosy lodge couldn’t be in a better location. With walking trails leading out to the hills, and the coastal plains of Somerset Levels just a twenty-five-minute drive away, it offers excellent opportunities for exploring the southern countryside. That said, we think you might be spending a lot of time at home. This wooden lodge might look understated, but the interiors are superbly stylish, modern, and playful. The golden patchwork sofa feels warm and homely, in perfect contrast to the sleek, grey kitchen. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the home with light, bringing the outside in – and thanks to certain luxury features, your host has made the 'great outdoors' into the 'fabulous outdoors'. Take in the fresh, country air on the sun loungers on the wrap-around decking. Or maybe you'd rather spend an evening under the star-studded sky in your private hot tub. Pop a bottle of English fizz in the wine cooler and relax under the sheltered, starlight roof – you've earned it.

Golden Patchwork

This glamorous modern home offers a different kind of country living. Right by the Mendip Hills, a certified Area of Outstanding Beauty, and a five-minute drive from the town of Cheddar – famed for it's epic gorge as well as a certain cheese – it's one of the recently built, state-of-the-art lodges on a complex in a pretty, rural spot. With a feeling of seclusion and views over the hills, you might forget you're conveniently close to the shops and restaurants of the town.

Steering clear of the traditional style of lodge homes, this place is chic and glamorous, with contemporary timber cladding, a glossy black kitchen and comfy, modern furnishings. We love the L-shaped deck, where you'll find your private hot tub and a secret covered area which comes into its at night – just wait until you switch on the starlight roof. But there's even more to love indoors, with a cosy log burner for winter stays and a fabulous bathroom with a big, freestanding bath and a walk-in rainfall shower. Perfect for couples, this place is great if you're a fan of country walks and moonlit dips (and who isn't?).



Blueberry Fields Forever

This cosy apartment is a sweet option for couples or solo travellers in search of a rustic retreat. Featuring a little balcony with the great views, a garden and snug rooms, there is everything you could need to relax and unwind. Private parking is available and you’ll find plenty to explore in the surroundings. From here, it’s a short drive to the Wookey Hole Caves and Ebbor Gorge National Nature Reserve. The nearest pub and shop are less than a mile away, while the bustling city of Wells is also within easy reach.
