This quirky flat in Sheffield has urban cool written all over it. Lush greens, bold oranges, leafy plants and bamboo accents give the place a natural, bohemian flair. We think it's as cosy as it is stylish, making it an excellent base to come home to after a busy day. The private balcony is the icing on the cake – it's the perfect spot to sip morning coffees and evening cocktails as the sun goes down. Everything you need for a relaxed stay is taken care of – there are two stylish bathrooms so nobody needs to wait in line, Netflix on the smart TV if you want to chill at home and a desk if you need to do a bit of work. Cooking is anything but a chore in the sleek kitchen, which has plenty of dinnerware for when you're in the mood to rustle up a meal. Java junkies will also be pleased to see both a Nespresso machine and a cafetiere. Best of all, the location is pretty much perfect. Set in vibrant Kelham Island, there's a wealth of independent eateries, bars, music venues and pubs within walking distance. Plus, the city centre is just a twenty-minute stroll away – trust us, you'll never be short on things to do here.

Are You Mine

A cosy getaway for two, this charming cottage is packed with character and has idyllic views of the Peak District to match. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking – imagine lush green fields, grazing cattle and tree-dotted hills, all spread out before you – and the best place to admire the rolling countryside is the garden. Sharing a bottle of wine as the sun goes down will become your evening ritual – with views like that, it'll be hard to tear yourself away. There's also an excellent outlook from the bedroom, which you'll wake up to daily.

Make yourself comfortable on the squishy sofa following a long day wandering the Peaks and snuggle up for a movie night – you can sign in to your Netflix, Prime and Disney+ accounts, so there are plenty of films to choose from. When you grow peckish, the kitchen is well-stocked and well-suited to rustling up delicious meals, but if you don't fancy cooking, Foolow's village pub is only a twelve-minute stroll away and serves excellent food and refreshing local ales.

And speaking of exploring, there's a network of public footpaths on your doorstep – simply lace up your walking shoes, head out the front door and the Peak District is yours to ramble and roam. Also close by is Bakewell, home to an array of shops, restaurants and a weekly Monday market – it’s just fifteen minutes by car.

Summer Dusk, Autumn Dawn

If you can bear to leave your palace and its grounds, be sure to head to the nearby market towns of Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth - full of history and local food and drink. You'll also be next to an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Head to Shropshire Hills for unparalleled views and hikes, and return to this rustic, regal fantasy of a home for unforgettable evenings with your group.

The Tudor Crest

Within a mile of Sheffield's city centre, this contemporary home makes a good base for your adventures. Broomhall is home to tree-lined streets, coffee shops and pubs, two universities, and Sheffield Botanical Gardens. It's quiet yet still close to all the action. Back home, you can enjoy sunny days in the private garden or spend chilly evenings getting cosy in the living area. In addition to the three comfortable bedrooms, the lounge features a sofa bed for one guest. Desks are available for digital nomads, a sleek kitchen is ideal for home chefs, and pets are welcome to tag along for a fee.

Broomhall in Bloom

Take a break from the fuss and flutter of daily life and retreat to this traditional English cottage in the charming village of Tideswell. A former sweet shop, this boutique-style home combines original features with contemporary furnishings to create a modern yet warm and inviting space. Stepping inside, you'll find pearly white walls, ceilings and stone floors, while the log burner and wooden beams overhead keep things extra cosy. Explore the rolling green fields of the Peak District National Park right on your doorstep, or enjoy a morning walk through the village, passing cheery pubs, bistros, fish and chip shops and quaint little tea rooms. Stop off for a classic scone with jam and clotted cream or tuck into a full English breakfast close by or visit the award-winning restaurant 'The Merchant's Yard' for a special occasion. In warmer months, make the most of the sunny south-facing courtyard and relax with a bottle of something sparkling after a day spent roaming this beautifully unbridled landscape. 

Toffee Treat

Walking into this beautiful cottage, you’d probably not be able to tell that it is over three-hundred-years old, or that it has a fair amount of experience as a coaching inn. Save for the exposed beams, brickwork, and basic structure, this home’s undergone a complete makeover that’s turned it into a very hospitable, little home. We, of course, love historic touches and found that the ones present here add a bucketload of charm to this home, and the choice of furnishings only further serves to make this space comfortable and inviting. Sink into the plush velvet sofa – by the way, we think the blue around the house brings a brilliant luxe contrast to the space – with the fire crackling at your feet as you catch up on your reading. 

Reading that can also be done outside when the weather is just right. Head out with a cup of coffee and embrace the peace and quiet, enjoying the view of the cathedral when you’ve put your book down for a quick break. 

Back inside, the kitchen – which features a beautiful aga cooker – connects to a dining room by the way of a conservatory, which makes even cooking a social affair as some guests can get breakfast ready whilst others bask in the light streaming in from up above. 

As if this home could get much better, it’s also very close to the famous Peak District National Park and a day out there, admiring the lakes and moors as you hike the round hills, is an absolute must. When you return too tired to cook, head to the local pub or chip shop for a quintessentially British end to your day.

Tideswell Cottage

Every care has been taken to modernise this Victorian cottage without diminishing its period charm. We love the old-world touches, like the cast iron heaters, sparkling chandeliers and ornate vintage mirrors. Escaping from the hustle and bustle of the big city is a no-brainer here. Throw open your windows in the morning, and you’ll hear birdsong – you might even see a passing deer or two. Whip up a quick breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen, and then put on your walking shoes. Miles of open countryside await right on your doorstep – the cottage is at the end of a drive where the village gives way to the natural world. You can spend entire days hiking the patchwork of fields and farms crisscrossed by a web of brooks. You’ll quickly work up an appetite after all that exploring. You can grab a meal in the village pub, the local chippy or the Tandoori restaurant. However, if you want more variety, a five-minute drive will take you to nearby Ramsbottom, where you'll have a much wider choice of cafes, restaurants, and food shops. A thirty-minute drive will have you in central Manchester, in the heart of all that the city has to offer. In the evening, fill the bathtub and feel the relaxation wash over you. 


Babbling Brooks

Lying on the banks of the River Wye, surrounded by beautiful valleys and the pretty courtyards of Bakewell, this charming cottage offers spectacular scenery and plenty of creature comforts. A Grade II listed building dating back to the 17th century, this home has been carefully converted whilst retaining some of its original features. Wooden ceiling beams and an open fire housed in stone remind you of times gone by, while the contemporary kitchen and sumptuous seating areas bring a little luxury into the equation. 

Step outside and you'll find a gorgeous garden, complete with a patio and dining table. This is the perfect spot to spend a morning drinking coffee and planning the day ahead. When it comes to exploring, you won't be short of things to see and do here. Bakewell is widely considered a gem of the Peak District, thanks to its Anglo-Saxon roots and plethora of award-winning restaurants and pubs. Home to the iconic Bakewell pudding, it's safe to say that foodies will be in their element here. You've also got the Derbyshire countryside on your doorstep, meaning you can enjoy the fresh air and fine walks with the dog every day. For more adventurous hikes, the snow-capped mountains of the Peak District are a short drive away. 

Whether you spend your days shopping, hiking or sampling the local cuisine, you'll always have a cosy home to come back to. Throw some logs on the fire and open a bottle of wine, then settle in with a movie, or have a go at cooking your own Bakewell pudding in the kitchen to enjoy with some hot custard. 


Bakewell Slice

Nestled in the charming town of Matlock, this 200-year-old stone cottage is quite the find. Inside, you'll find all you need to decompress after a day in the Derbyshire Dales – a cosy lounge, practical kitchen, and two comfortable bedrooms (though the second is certainly on the snug side). Exploring the local area is a breeze. Venture on foot into Matlock for quirky shops and eateries, ride the cable car to the Heights of Abraham for sensational views, or get outdoorsy with a ramble through the nearby Peak District. We think there's something for everyone here. 

Matlock Charm

Built in 1809 and renovated in 2020, grade II-listed King Of The Vale brings together old and new for a wonderful experience in the Peak District. The striking Georgian cottage features beamed ceilings, traditional shutters, sash windows, wood-burning stoves and an impressive garden, all while providing guests with twenty-first-century comforts and design. Prepare wonderful meals in the fully equipped kitchen, then enjoy your creations al fresco or in the modern dining room. With four bedrooms, up to eight guests are welcome to enjoy the home's cosy interiors and excellent position in the charming village of Rowsley. From here, it's easy to visit all corners of the famous Peak District.

King Of The Vale

Lovingly renovated and carefully restored, Clare and Paul have turned this barn into a contemporary but warm home. Expect bold florals in the main bedroom, inviting sink-in sofas in the living space and a fully-equipped kitchenette for cooked breakfasts on slow-start mornings.

One side of the barn overlooks rolling hills and patchwork fields, so you can watch the sheep grazing while you relax with a mug of tea on the royal blue loveseat. Then there’s the outside space, which boasts a hot tub for soothing tired muscles after long hikes through the Peaks and a seating area for cream tea in the sunshine.

If country walks are on the agenda, there are a number of public footpaths by your front door and the serene Combs Reservoir is a mere seven-minute walk away. If you’re keen to explore a little further afield, the charming spa town of Buxton is reached in fifteen minutes by car. And when the day draws to a close, sip a gin and tonic in a nearby pub before heading back to your pad to watch a purple dusk fall over the countryside.

Where Skylarks Sing

With 5 acres at your disposal, this rustic cottage in the Peak District is the ideal escape for anyone looking to indulge in a slice of rural peace. Not so rural, however, that you can’t easily nip into the Georgian gem that is Ashbourne. Explore the local coffee shops and markets whilst you’re there by strolling the cobbled streets and admiring the architecture. The award-winning Callow Hall is five minutes away, and Thor’s Cave – one of the beautiful hiking trails of the area – can be found at the other end of a twenty-minute drive. 

But we bet we had you at rural peace, didn’t we? You’d be right to embrace it and there’s no better way than soaking up all that quiet from your position on the sunlounger. In the summer months, you can ward off the heat by slipping into the beautifully clear, private pool. Autumn and spring would best be spent strolling the large garden – you might even pack a basket and thermos for an impromptu picnic when you find a spot that you’re particularly drawn to. 

Select one of the books in the library and curl up with it on the leather sofa, only getting up to top off your coffee. Evenings can be spent watching a movie in front of the crackling fire or by playing board games – just as long as you don’t forget the cocoa. If it’s not too nippy out yet, you might also find an alfresco meal at sunset to be one of your favourite moments of the day.
