Upon the English Riviera, staying in the warm climate of the sophisticated town of Torquay feels like the equivalent of Cannes. Hop off a yacht at Torquay Marina and take an eighteen-minute stroll to this fabulous apartment, fit for any VIP. Upon arrival, your host will have a bottle of wine waiting for you. Before you even start exploring this modern flat, pour yourself a glass and say cheers to the start of the holiday. Do you like a home with a view? Because this one offers several. From its many large windows, you can spot the bay, beaches, harbours, the marina, and of course the big blue sea itself. On a sunny day, we recommend taking a bowl of olives and a chilled prosecco out to the private balcony – pop up the parasol if it gets too hot. Indoors, pristine white and cream interiors make the space feel fresh, with a mint-green sofa which you can sink into after a long day of beachside activities. South Devon might feel distinctly Mediterranean, but you’ll certainly enjoy ending the day with a refreshing cup of Earl Grey.

Pollock Palms

Sitting just a short walk from Torquay Beach, this apartment boasts a stellar location. Though the interiors are fairly simple and it might feel a little cramped with four guests, it’s perfectly practical for a coastal stay. After a day strolling along the promenade or soaking up the sun on the beach, you’ll enjoy unwinding in the cosy living room with a glass of wine – though keep in mind the sofa bed will accommodate your third and fourth guests. From here, you’ll be able to enjoy the Torquay Seafront, seafood restaurants and watersports on offer, while boat trips can be taken from Torquay Harbour.

There’s no doubt you’ll be dazzled by this spectacular apartment the moment you step through the front door – the views of the sea alone are enough to wow anyone. But then there’s the gorgeously decorated, luxurious interior, which makes this sea-facing pad a truly rare gem.

We love the sleek, modern décor and the plush furnishings, inviting you to make yourself right at home and relax after a day of coastal exploring. 

While there’s no shortage of excellent dining options in the area, you may also opt for rustling up something delicious in the well-equipped kitchen, in which case the stylish island and stools will provide the perfect setting for a romantic supper. 

Enjoy a night of restful sleep in the plush bedroom, but not before an indulgent bubble bath in the spa-like bathroom. In the morning, you’ll wake up restored and ready for another day in sunny Devon. 

With A View Like That 

Situated just a short walk from Torquay Harbour, this home within an apartment complex is a lovely spot for a coastal stay. Though the interiors aren’t so inspired, it has everything you need for a fuss-free stay – including a well-equipped kitchen and cosy living room for unwinding after a day boat tripping along the English Channel. Your furry friends are also welcome to join for an additional fee. The nearest beach, Meadfoot, is a fifteen-minute walk away, while the harbour offers plenty of opportunities for waterfront dining.

The Harbour Hideaway

Two buildings make up this family-sized home on the outskirts of Torquay. It’s a fifteen-minute walk from the town centre for all the seafood and sailing you can handle. Large families or groups of friends can spread out between two living rooms, two indoor kitchens and a basement chill-out room complete with arcade games, beanbags and a huge flatscreen TV. We love the long dining table in the conservatory, crowned with twisting vines. But it’s the outdoor space that drew us in, with a hot tub on the covered terrace, curtained lounge area and a full outdoor kitchen protected from the elements.  

Seaview Glory

Located in one of the most desirable areas of Torquay, this elegant home is the perfect setting to experience the atmospheric charm of Devon. 

As you make your way up the grand staircase and into this apartment, you’ll want to pause and soak in the bright and warm presence. With views across the beautiful garden, there’s an uplifting and romantic tone here. And whether you’re relaxing in the tower bedroom or preparing your morning coffee in the kitchen, it’s easy to enjoy the intimacy of this space. 

Outside, it’s only a five–minute walk to the centre of the village where you’ll find local shops, cafes and a pub. From here you can walk to the Prehistoric caves at Kents Cavern and then on to the stunning Meadfoot Bay.

Devon is brimming with natural beauty and this home makes the perfect setting to explore its stunning coastline. After a day full of fresh sea air, you’ll love the feeling of coming home to relax in this stylish space.

It’s all about the seafront location here – just moments from the sands of Torquay Beach this minimal apartment provides an ocean view from your private balcony. Keep in mind there are some stairs to climb here, and the second bedroom lacks some natural light, but it’s perfectly comfortable for a coastal stay.

Located within beautiful Victorian building, this superb apartment features a grand living room with stunning triple aspect sash windows from which to enjoy spectacular coast and sea views as well an amply equipped kitchen and stylish master bedroom.

You’ll love flinging open the French doors in the master bedroom and listening to the sound of the sea. Whip up home-cooked classics in the monochrome kitchen and dine alfresco on the beautiful balcony or à deux around the glass-topped table in the living room, all while admiring stunning sea views. Unwind with a glass of wine or cosy up on the lounge-worthy leather sofas in the living room for movie night.

Positioned within easy reach of all that Torbay has to offer, this heavenly home is just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s palm tree lined seafront and vibrant promenade. Why not spend the day at the beach before sample of many seafood restaurants either overlooking the marina or the town’s harbour? Cockington Village and Country Park is just 2 miles away and can easily be reached on foot while Babbacombe Downs is just a short drive away and offers unrivalled views of Lyme Bay and on towards Weymouth.


Seaview Splendour

Although the classic sitcom Fawlty Towers gave the impression that accommodation in Torquay left much to be desired, this majestic townhouse completely dispels that notion. 

Having been renovated in 2022, the design brings together boldly patterned wallpaper, a smattering of antique furnishings, some well-chosen pieces of artwork and tufted furnishings to create an interior that feels traditional but far from stale. The bright blue tiling in the bathroom is rather fetching, too

It must be said that the standout features are found in the garden, which is filled with flowers during the warmer months. As well as offering plenty of seating out on the terrace, there's also a hot tub in which you can pass summer evenings.

If the weather gods are smiling down upon you during your stay, the shingle beach at Anstey's Cove can be reached in under fifteen minutes, while Babbacombe Beach takes ten minutes more than that. The Kent Cavern caves are only eight minutes away on foot, too.


A Pocket Full of Rye

Nestled between Torquay Marina and Babbacombe Beach, which boasts England’s highest cliff top promenade, this charming home places you in a prime spot for exploring this part of Devon's impressive beaches, the bustling harbour and coastal walking paths. 
 
Inside, an elegant and soft yellow-hued interior welcomes you to unwind from the moment you step through the door, whether that’s reclining on the plump leather sofa with your holiday read, gathering around the sleek dining table for an intimate family meal, sharing a bottle of wine on the terrace at the golden hour, or sinking into the hot tub as night falls. The two bedrooms, meanwhile, are equally as stylish with their floral wall prints, vaulted ceilings and sumptuous throws, while wake-ups are made all the more effortless thanks to the bathroom’s pristine, glossy-tiled bathtub.
 
Slip on your swimsuit and head to Babbacombe Beach or Meadfoot (both within a short drive), or make a beeline for Anstey's Cove where you’ll find a quiet shingle beach tucked between high red cliffs and a luscious wooded hillside. If you are here to hike, the legendary South West Coast Path will take you to the vibrant centre of Torquay, where you can reward yourself with a seafood platter overlooking the Marina.

Gypsophila & Sand

This chic apartment not only boasts tranquil views of the English Channel, but it’s also within 250 metres of Torquay Beach. Inside, the place is fresh and funky – we loved the pastel pink furnishings and bold accent walls. After a restful sleep in the comfortable beds, rustle up a full English in the sleek kitchen or pick up some freshly baked pastries from the coffee shop opposite your building. Soak up the warm sunshine on the terrace before slipping on your sandals and strolling along the South West Coast Path. 

When lunchtime rolls around, head into the heart of Torquay, around a ten-minute walk away, to sample the independent eateries. If you fancy swapping the seaside for the country, Dartmoor National Park is less than an hour’s drive from your building.
