When you're in the mood to see what the Lake District has to offer, you're in an excellent position to do so. Stock Ghyll Force waterfall is half an hour's walk away, while Rydal Cave can be reached in under ten minutes' drive. Luckily the host provides complimentary chocolates for you to pocket as you head into the Lake District for a day of hiking.

And after a fun-filled day outdoors, we recommend a short stroll into Grasmere, where restaurants, bars and tea rooms await.

Embrace the countryside charm of Ambleside from this traditional cottage. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shops within easy walking distance – perfect for families with young children. The little ones will also love the two parks with play areas that are just a few yards away. There’s even a path outside the rear gate leading straight to one of them. While this is convenient, bear in mind that this is a communal path and there’ll be people walking past the back gate throughout the day. But while you’re inside the cottage, you’ll be able to switch off from the outside world – there's a fireplace for ultimate cosiness, as well as plush sitting areas.
