Built in the 16th century, this Grade II listed home is believed to be the former Keeper’s cottage. You’ll find it just off the 16th-century market square in Tetbury, in a courtyard with private parking. This rustic, historic home is a cosy base ideal for two, though it won’t suit those seeking sleek, modern accommodation. We love the exposed stone and the wood-burning stove, which add to the charm. As well as having Tetbury’s antique shops and cafes on your doorstep, you’ll also be within easy reach of Westonbirt Arboretum, Gatcombe Park, and Malmesbury. 

Quaint Courtyard Cottage

A lush lakeside retreat awaits at this cosy cabin. It sits on a wonderful lake resort in Lechlade-on-Thames, just outside the southern edge of the Cotswolds, so it's ideal for hikers and cyclists as well as lovers of water sports. The cabin is traditional yet stylish, with boho decor that makes it feel like a peaceful haven – and there's a deck over the lake where you can sip your morning coffee. You'll have access to some fantastic communal facilities here, such as the on-site spa, friendly cafe and 850 acres of leafy green spaces. You can even upgrade your stay to include activities such as ziplining and high ropes courses.

The Amber Rose

Fancy staying in a seventeenth-century dovecote on a thousand year-old farm mentioned in the Domesday Book? We thought you might. This stone cottage in deepest Wiltshire is the ultimate countryside retreat. With original features maintained beautifully alongside modern comforts, you have all you need for a carefree stay.

Within the thick stone walls you’ll find exposed beams in abundance, complemented by a delightful mix of contemporary furnishings and fittings. Start your day in style with breakfast on the plush velvet dining chairs or wind down for the night with a soak in the freestanding bathtub.

During the summer months, the real star of the show is the heated saltwater swimming pool. Once you've spent all morning splashing about, you can head over to the terrace where you'll find a barbecue, firepit and ample seating. 

Back inside and up the stairs a fifty-inch Smart TV and sound system await you, with a bit of mood lighting to boot.

When you’re ready to venture out again, embark upon one of many walking routes through Dinton Park, a National Trust site just fifteen-minutes away by foot. And after a long ramble, nourishment awaits at The Wyndham Arms, a mere five-minutes from your door.

Dove's Rest

There’s a real sense of magic to this historic barn. A stay here is like stepping out of time into a beautiful rural dream – a terracotta-coloured vision, surrounded by wildflowers. The exterior renders the modern living area something of a surprise, but it really does work. A contemporary kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows sit alongside original beams and a spiral staircase – it’s the best of old and new. We especially love the second bedroom with its fairytale-style beds (guaranteed to deliver an enchanted sleep). Outside, a babbling stream runs alongside the private garden. We can see ourselves drinking a glass of wine on summer evenings at the outdoor table, looking out over the river meadow as the sun goes down. If you can tear yourself away from your country bolt-hole, the neighbouring footpath leads right to Castle Combe. You’re also a short walk from the local pub and the honey-coloured villages of the Cotswolds await. 

Wildflower Dream

Set on a working livestock farm, this little ray of sunshine can be found nestled among the converted stables. Small but perfectly formed, it's a romantic home with calming, delicate shades and tasteful decor. Perfect for a couple or a solo holiday, it offers easy access to country walks and the beautiful village of Avesbury – the stone circle is just a three-minute drive. With great local pubs and restaurants (one just a short walk from your door) and Britain's best neolithic sites nearby, it's the perfect spot to explore the Wiltshire countryside.

Recently converted, this exclusive collection of cottages sit side-by-side with the host's main farming business, and the land has been passed down from generation to generation since 1922. Set within the Avebury World Heritage site, it's a UNESCO-protected landscape unlike any other part of the country. 

If you're lucky enough to be here during fine weather, make the most of the beautifully-landscaped courtyard – with plenty of outdoor seating space for each of the stables. Or book more than one home and socialise outside with friends and family. You can even hold weddings and events here.

Little Sedum

Overlooking Beazer Garden Maze and Pulteney Weir, Aquae Sulis is a beautifully curated home for two in one of Bath's traditional Georgian mansions. High ceilings, crown mouldings and double-height sash windows are just some of the features that have been lovingly restored to their full glory in order to give guests a magical experience without losing any twenty-first-century luxuries. With its central location, idyllic views and glamorous interiors, a cosy couple are sure to have an amorous trip to one of England's most romantic cities. Spend your days strolling through the streets, visiting the infamous Roman Baths or heading out into the Cotswolds for an afternoon in the countryside.

Aquae Sulis

This manor house sits within a private estate where it offers a stylish setting for a luxurious retreat. There’s a swimming pool, jacuzzi and manicured gardens – perfect for special events and celebrations (upon request). You can also enjoy access to the estate facilities, including a spa, cafe and a programme of activities that range from water sports to nature walks. And should you feel like venturing further afield, the Cotswolds is on your doorstep. 


Wild Honey Bee

Experience life in the country at this cosy barn, nestled in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is the perfect spot to relax in nature, as you're surrounded by nine acres of fields, woodlands and idyllic English countryside to ramble and roam – your hosts even have pony and sheep paddocks that only add to the rustic charm. A short walk away is the quaint village of Great Bedwyn, where you'll find a local pub, cafe and shops, and there are a slew of canal towpaths and walking routes that the whole family will enjoy – including the pups. After a long day in the great outdoors, we loved coming home and unwinding in the bright living room, which has sumptuous sofas and a surround sound system that lends itself to family movie nights. The vibe here is warm, homey and inspired by the landscape – from the French doors upstairs showing off the view to the bespoke artwork made by a local artist. Come together for a meal around the dining table – prepared in the sleek kitchen – or, on warm days, enjoy an evening tipple in the garden while the kids let loose in the play area. That's what we call a rural getaway.

Brail Barn

Classy. That's the word that springs to mind when we think of this recently refurbished apartment on Milsom Street in Bath. As soon as you walk through the elegant gated entrance with carved granite and mosaic tiling, you know you're in for a treat. The home is immaculately clean, polished and designed to a high standard. A raft of celebrity portraits taken by the owner lines the walls – a wonderful personal touch. Select a bottle from the wine cooler and relax in the spacious living room, which has a sense of occasion with its Charles Eames leather lounge chair and velvet sofa. This light, west-facing room has two large original sash windows with views over the courtyard and chimney pots. We were surprised by how peaceful this place is inside, considering it's located on one of Bath's main shopping streets. It really is an excellent base for exploring the city's centre and sights. There are lots of luxury and high-end boutiques, as well as restaurants and bars right on your doorstep, where you can enjoy a cocktail or relish a delicious lunch (The Botanist and Ivy Brasserie are opposite). For a day of pampering, Thermae Bath Spa is a five-minute walk, or explore Bath's jaw-dropping UNESCO World Heritage architecture, such as the Royal Crescent, a ten-minute stroll away. A great find – it's no wonder this home has impeccable reviews. 

Georgian View

Staying in this home is like stepping into a scene from an Austen novel – we can just picture Emma Woodhouse wandering the grounds. Corniced ceilings, antique furniture, country views – there's so much character in this Grade II historic building. The home is part of a grand country estate in Wiltshire, but you'll feel as if you have the whole place to yourself in this private south wing. With the living room’s ample seating in front of the fire and the charming wooden breakfast table, you will be equally comfortable drinking tea or wine in elegance. Make sure to stop by a farm shop on the way to cook up a delicious meal in the kitchen or pre-order fresh or frozen meals to make your stay even easier. Take walks in the gorgeous landscaped gardens, stroll over the bridge on the water, and as night falls gather round the fire pit with drinks. You could spend all day at this country estate, but there's plenty to see in the local area too. You're just a six-minute drive from Stonehenge, and it's worth travelling to Salisbury to visit the historic cathedral and wander the cobbled streets. After a busy day, return home to decadent bedrooms and doze off on a beautifully handmade mattress – the very same furnish the Royal Family's residences.

Hartfield

Even before you enter, it’s clear that there’s something special about Faerie World. The high position of the cottage gives a heavenly view of the stream below, and you can hear the babbling water from the terrace, which is itself surrounded by flowers, and makes you feel like you’re in a fairytale. Once inside, the living room and bedroom don’t disappoint. The bedroom in particular, with its Farrow & Ball colours, stands out. The kitchen doesn’t have the same aesthetic charm, but that’s a small gripe, and shouldn't give you any cause for concern.

Faerie World

Overlooking Henrietta Park, the prime location of this home will set you within walking distance of the River Avon and Pulteney Bridge in the heart of Bath – not to mention the collection of fantastic restaurants, bars and boutiques on your doorstep. After exploring the city on foot, this comfy apartment welcomes you back with its cosy living areas and an open kitchen-diner, perfect for laidback suppers at home. The third bedroom is made up of two single beds, so it's better suited to younger families or groups of friends – just note that all six guests will be sharing one bathroom (at full capacity).
