This Greek villa on the island of Andros is a 150-year-old manor house surrounded by six acres of orchard including citrus trees. We would love to start each morning here with some fresh fruit from the gardens, relaxing outside at the seating area near the restored old well, under the dappled shade of a tree. Then, lounge beside the pool, enjoying the views of the orchard before slipping into the cooling waters of the private swimming pool. 

The area surrounding this home is also is filled with hundred-year-old, tall Cyprus trees, and lemon and orange trees. Plus, there is a stream running just outside the property which flows to the sea at Paraporti beach – making it a very beautiful and peaceful eight-minute walk to reach the sands and oceans. There’s even a taverna by the beach if you get hungry. 

The town of Andros is just a fifteen-minute walk away – or only ten minutes if you choose to take advantage of the free bikes provided at this home. Here, you can explore the town, admire the Tourlitis Lighthouse, visit the museum of contemporary art, and dine in one of the many restaurants and tavernas. Or, return to the villa at dinner time and enjoy local wine and delicious food – using produce and herbs from the garden –cooked on the barbecue, dining alfresco as the sun slowly disappears behind the trees.

The main town of Andros (Chora) is just a short, four kilometres drive away too for boutiques and restaurants in picturesque narrow streets.

But spending all your days at this villa isn’t such a bad idea, especially when you’ve got a view like this – over the rugged coastline and the sparkling Aegean Sea. The decor embraces its beachy locale with wicker lampshades hung from white-wood pergolas outside, a smooth stone sofa in the corner and a sprawling day bed perfect for stargazing. It all makes the most of that sea view from the wrap-around terrace.

The magnificent mountains and valleys of Andros can only be matched by its striking coastlines. Located twenty-five kilometres from Andros Port, this rustic abode boasting views over the Aegean Sea is a mere ten to fifteen-minute drive from the hidden treasures that are Plaka, Halkolimionas and Apothikes beaches.

The former agricultural lands upon which this home was built were once bustling with rural workers. But this building in particular is what locals call a ‘peristeriona’ – or something similar to what we might call a dovecot. While pigeons were once the cosy inhabitants of this gorgeous stone villa, your communal courtyard with a pool and jacuzzi might not have been part of the set-up back in the day.

Fourteen acres of gardens, vineyards and vegetable patches surround this stone-built villa on the coast of Paros. From the lagoon-style pool, you’ve got a beautiful view of the Gulf of Molos and Molos Beach is just a five-minute walk away. The vast rooftop terrace is perfect for yoga sessions and there’s a heated Jacuzzi up here. Bedrooms are spread out across the main villa and guesthouse in the garden, and there are two spacious living rooms for the group to unwind, not including the fabulous outdoor lounge.

The perfect home for relaxing and recovering, why not take so time to lounge in the Greek sunshine and enjoy the warmth of its rays on your skin. Then, slip into the cooling waters of the freshwater swimming pool, and enjoy the stunning views while you float leisurely in the pool. 

Just a six-minute drive to Otzias, you can enjoy the sandy beaches and soothing sound of waves lapping at the shore, or dine in one of the local Tavernas. The village of Vourkari – just an eight-minute drive away – provides an opportunity for not only beach days but also scuba diving experiences. 

Coressia, the island’s port, is just a twelve-minute drive away, while the capital Ioulis is a twenty-five-minute drive away. In Ioulis you will be able to visit the archaeological museum and even see the Lion of Kea – an impressive early Greek stone monument that dates back to the Archaic period. 

What’s more, there is a regular ferry connection between Athens and Kea which takes about an hour, taking you to the Lavrion port. From here, you can drive about fifty-six minutes to Greece’s capital and explore everything Athens has to offer. 

After all your exploring, return home to the villa in the evening and cook some delicious souvlaki on the barbecue before dining alfresco as you enjoy the sun setting over the vista.
