Two beautiful beaches are just 400 metres away, and the local area is home to traditional Greek fish taverns and cafes which make for an authentic experience.

The Ethereal

With panoramic views over the saltwater Lake Vouliagmeni, Mount Hymettus and the Gulf of Corinth – this home is inspiring. It’s easy to escape the everyday stresses of life here. When you fancy exploring, take a ten-minute stroll to Lake Vouliagmeni with its charming tavernas and picturesque bars. Other attractions in the area include Loutraki Thermal Spa, five miles away, while the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth and Penteskoufi Castle are both around eight miles from this gorgeous home.

You'll want a car for heading into central Athens, but it's an easy walk to restaurants, cafes, and the sandy Yabanaki beach.

The southern Peloponnese is known for its beautiful golden beaches, charming old-world villages and archaeological sites steeped in history. And from this spot in Valira, you'll be well-placed to make the most of it. Hop in the car to explore this picturesque region and you'll find something new at every turn. Head to Bouka Beach for a dip in the sea (just 18km away), nibble on the namesake olives in Kalamata's local eateries or step back in time at the ruins in Ancient Messene. 

Whatever you get up to, you'll love returning to this cosy home after a long day. Open a bottle of Greecian wine and enjoy it alfresco on the patio, breathing in the fresh air. Better yet, take a seat on the balcony and watch the sun dip below Valira's horizon as you dig into a feast prepared on the barbecue. The two outside spaces are hard to resist, but the open-plan layout inside is just as relaxing. Everyone can kick back, put their feet up and chill out together until bedtime, when the comfortable bedrooms are sure to be calling your name.

From refreshing morning swims in the sea to lazy afternoons on a sun lounger and golden hour drinks in a local taverna, you’ll find yourself drifting on a Grecian dream. And for those seeking a little more adventure, follow the hiking trails through the mountains, explore sheltered harbours and discover tiny coves nestled along the coast. 

Wherever the day takes you, this home provides the perfect setting for total rest and relaxation. Watch the sunset whilst swaying in a hammock, gather for drinks on the terrace and enjoy cooking with fresh local produce on the barbecue. And when you’re ready to retreat back inside, you’ll find the air-conditioned rooms set the tone for a restorative night’s rest.  

Strawberry Moon

If you were looking for perfect locations in which to build a home, this spot on the southeastern Peneloponese coastline would be a strong contender. Surrounded by lush vegetation — including trees growing olives, almonds, pears and lemons — it also has the added perk of having direct access to a secluded beach.

Part of a collection of five villas, this home makes the most of its beautiful position with a long terrace area containing an alfresco dining table, a couple of loungers and even a giant chess set. The interior has plenty of glass doors and large windows so you can still marvel at the scenery from inside, too. We're big fans of the decor, which is contemporary in style but subtle and unshowy about it.

As well as Kissakas beach almost quite literally on your doorstep, there are further seaside options a short drive away — like Tserfos just over a quarter of an hour's drive — as well as plenty of hiking routes and the town of Leonidio about fifteen minutes away in the car.



Play the Greek Defence

It's fair to say that each of the Greek islands has a distinct identity and Spetses appeals to those fond of the finer things in life, with plenty of high-end restaurants and boutiques dotted across the map. You'll also find some rather impressive villas, such as this majestic home.

Spread across three floors, the star of the show has to be the swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with loungers on which to dry off after a dip. Up on the top floor, you'll find another terrace with pleasingly green views, but if you need a break from the sun, there's a verandah with a dining table and a hammock practically begging for a post-lunch snooze.

The interior feels typically Greek with whitewashed walls, shuttered windows and a few boho touches in the furnishings and decorations. The glass doors on the ground floor bring in plenty of natural light, as well as a burst of fresh air when swung open. We've also got kind words for the contemporarily styled kitchen in a dashing shade of grey, too.

When it comes to seeing a little more is the island, there are small beaches within three hundred metres of the home, while the larger Kaiki beach takes about ten minutes to reach on foot. The port town of Spetses is a similar amount of time in the opposite direction and offers a great choice of restaurants and a pair of museums to explore.



Tonic Saronic

Just steps away from the water's edge, with views across the Aegean Sea, you'll find this stunning villa. It's the perfect place to reset and relax in style – gather up your favourite people and get ready to make some fabulous memories in the Greek sunshine. 

There's a distinct sense of calm throughout the home, thanks to the natural fabrics and abundance of natural light. Three of the four bedrooms offer direct access to the balcony, where you can sip your morning coffee and breathe in the fresh air. If you follow the steps at the bottom of the garden, you will arrive at your very own little pebble beach and take a refreshing dip in the sea on hot days. And, there's also an alfresco Jacuzzi, which is ideal for long, luxurious soaks under the stars each evening.

It would be easy to never leave this little slice of paradise – especially since your host can organise luxurious extras like butler service and private yoga sessions. However, Astir Beach, with its crystal clear waters, is just a four-minute walk away, as is Vouliagmeni Beach, complete with volleyball courts and a childrens' play area. And, if you fancy heading into Athens to see the sights, then you can drive to the historic city in just half an hour.

Athenian Riviera

This is a stunning home with a big swimming pool, private tennis court, sauna and billiards room. It is located 300 metres from the beach, in a wonderful setting overlooking the Corinthian Gulf and the surrounding hills. The villa is the perfect base from which to explore the Peloponnese region.

The Lost City

Perched on the edge of the Peloponesse peninsula, this villa cannot be accused of not making the most of its glorious position. 

In the outside space, the view of the Aegean Sea can be admired from the alfresco dining table on the terrace or from the cool waters of the swimming pool. There are further shady spots to be discovered in the garden filled with Mediterranean vegetation.

The villa's interior feels bright and breezy thanks to the large glass windows, high vaulted ceilings and the whitewashed walls, while the furnishings are generally contemporary in style, particularly the transparent dining room chairs and the super-sleek bathrooms.

As you can probably guess from the panorama, it doesn't take too long to reach the sea here — in fact, the closest beach takes three minutes to reach on foot. The port town of Porto Cheli is a ten-minute drive away and you can also catch a ferry to the island of Spetses from Kosta, just five minutes away in the car.



One For The Dreamers

Enjoy a serene stay in peaceful Voula at this modern apartment, located just 1km from the coast. This home’s crown jewel is its beautiful wrap-around balcony, which offers an amazing sea view over the Saronic Gulf, and where you’ll also find a hot tub where you can sit, soak and take in the gorgeous vista around you. This home features muted and minimalistic interiors which give it a calm and relaxed feel, with large windows to bring the stunning sea view inside.

Start each day with a dip in the balcony hot tub while you sip on a freshly squeezed OJ and watch the sun come up over the beautiful ocean in front of you. Come inside and cook up some delicious Greek scrambled eggs and dine all together at your stylish dining set, while you discuss how to spend your day. There’s a bus stop nearby where you can easily get to the city centre, and find chic shops, gourmet restaurants and bustling bars. Return to your lovely home and sip on some sundowners on your balcony as you watch the sunset, or get cosy around the fireplace with a glass of wine and talk into the night about the best moments from your trip.
