This contemporary villa, perched on a hillside overlooking the Ionian Sea, boasts ocean views from inside and out. It’s also perfectly positioned to showcase the sun setting over the water – best enjoyed from the terrace with a sundowner in hand. Located within a short stroll of a selection of mini-markets, bars, and restaurants, as well as a pretty pebble and sand beach, you could enjoy a car-free getaway here. Or if you want to explore further afield, Lourdas, Argostoli, and Lixouri are all within easy driving distance.

The Sea Melody

With awe-inspiring vistas of the Ionian Sea, as well as rural and mountain views, this villa is a gem. Enjoy the panorama from the pool and terrace, as well as from this single-storey home’s open-plan living space. We love that all of the bedrooms have French doors to a patio, too. When you want to explore the landscape, go for a stroll through orchards and fields to reach the neighbourhood's shops and eateries. Or have a drive over to nearby Lourdas with its seafront restaurants, bars, and a beautiful beach.

Serene Seascape Sanctuary

You can spot the outline of neighbouring Zakynthos island from the edge of this villa’s infinity pool. Perched high above Kefalonia’s coastline, the view from the terrace is practically a bird’s-eye vantage – ideal while making use of the shaded dining table and outdoor kitchen at lunchtime. Glass sliding doors show off the view from the open-plan living room, and both bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) have huge windows facing the sea. You’re just outside the charming village of Vlachata, where local bakeries provide breakfast options and there’s a handful of rustic tavernas.

Cycladic Lyrism

Perched on a mountainside on Cephalonia's east coast, in the quaint fishing village of Agia Effimia, this stunning design-led home offers dreamy sea views in a secluded location. Just footsteps from the harbour's cafes, bars and restaurants and the golden sands of Beach Elies, this sumptuous pad is the perfect base for exploring Cephalonia in style.

Built using local stone, the home is an ode to the designer's lifelong infatuation with the island. Every detail works to celebrate Cephalonia's enchanting landscape. Interiors are cloaked in a neutral colour palette of creamy beiges and slate greys, creating a calming canvas. Meanwhile, warm timber beams and earthy linens complement the lush foliage nearby. Though each room offers stunning views, the outdoor terrace is the property's masterpiece. From the open-plan kitchen and lounge, open the large sliding doors and enjoy sweeping verandas of the sparkling sea and charming rooftops below. You'll love spending peaceful mornings here, coffee in hand, soaking up the soft rising sun. 

Outside, the pergola shaded dining area is the ideal spot to tuck into your complimentary breakfast and overlooks the crystalline infinity pool and jacuzzi. There's even a discrete outdoor shower nestled in the villa's stone walls, perfect for cooling off after a trip to the beach. With ample seating, including a plush outdoor lounge space and fire-pit nestled at pool height, you'll never want to leave this elegant pocket of paradise. 

Echo In My Heart

At this charming Kefalonia apartment, you’re mere footsteps from the beach and can take advantage of the bars and restaurants of Karavomylos village. One of the island’s natural wonders, the Melissani Lake Cave, is a five-minute walk away too, where the sunshine illuminates a secluded gave lake until it glows ethereally blue. It’s also just a four-minute drive (or half-hour walk) to the port town of Sami, where the ferry leaves to the mainland and a few other islands.

The apartment is set in an exclusive resort, with access to a shared swimming pool should you tire of days on the beach. The interior feels natural and warm, in slate-grey and ombre hues. Wicker chairs at the dining table, straw mirrors and a palette of wood and stone combine to create a relaxing spot to unwind. If you want to soak up the sun, there’s a private balcony with room for four to dine as well. 

The Sun Diety

The view from this home in an elevated position just north of Skala is to die for. The glittering sea extends right across your field of vision from the enormous terrace, with a glass safety barrier so absolutely nothing interferes with your view. Out here, which is where we think you'll spend most of your time, you'll be able to relax on the sun loungers, sip drinks on the sofas and eat at the table under the stars. And just when you think this outside space couldn't get any better, there's a beautiful private pool too, with hydrotherapy and swim-against-the-stream settings.

Inside, it's a fully modernised villa that has maintained some of its character features – so expect a glossy new kitchen and fabulous new bathrooms, along with a pretty fireplace in the open-plan living space and vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms. There's a stunning private balcony off one of the bedrooms, perfect for getting some sea air first thing in the morning, and we just love the bunk beds in the third bedroom – perfect for kids. 

Just a five-minute drive from the nearby village – where you'll find traditional tavernas, shops and everything you could need – and a five-minute drive from the nearest beach, it's in a handy location too.

Pebble Blue

Sea-view shades of blue await you when you vacation in Sea Breeze Haven, perfectly positioned in ancient olive groves overlooking Vlicho Bay, on the east coast of the Greek island of Lefkada. This brand-new villa has four spacious double bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, ideal for a large family holiday or groups of friends sharing. The one hundred and twenty-three square metre villa is built over two storeys and is constructed out of classic Mediterranean whitewashed walls and local stone, with glass-fronted balconies, that give uninterrupted views over the azure Ionian Sea...

Sea Breeze Haven

Settled on a sloping hillside on the southeast coast of Kefalonia, this sunny villa appeals just as much to the history buff as the beach lover. Find Saint George Venetian Castle and the Mycenaean Necropolis of Mazarakata to one side and the coastline to the other – Trapezaki Beach being a short stroll away. You can even spot the water from the terrace, where a vine-covered pergola and stone barbecue create the ideal setting for alfresco meals. Though the inside might not impress as much as the surroundings, it's comfortable, bright and perfect for a family itching for a private pool.

Honeycomb & White

With a sweeping panorama taking in Agia Kyriaki and Myrtos bays, this villa up in the hills of Agkonas is the perfect island retreat. Days can be spent by the swimming pool, lying on the flat loungers and taking in the views of mountains and sea. On the first floor, a bamboo pergola shades the outdoor dining area and a hanging chair looks out over the sprawling vista. 

Inside, it’s an industrial-style space of poured concrete and iron railings with a couple of vintage pieces keeping things characterful. There’s plenty of prep space on the concrete worktops in the kitchen and washed wood cabinets feel bespoke. In the master bedroom, the honey-hued stone wall on display sings of old Kefalonia, and the second bedroom has a distinctly Moroccan vibe.

When it comes to exploring the area, you’ll find a mini market within walking distance, and there’s a beautiful, unspoilt local beach a ten-minute drive away with a handful of cafés to choose from. 

Ionian Embrace

Located in the Kefalonian mountainside, with views over the picturesque harbour and crystal clear waters below, this luxurious villa welcomes you to adopt the unhurried lifestyle of the Greek islands in style. 

Curated by a renowned designer, you'll immediately notice the high-end touch that's been given to this bright space – from the sleek modular sofa to the granite island kitchen, neutral colour palette and hemp decor. For a change of scenery, we recommend you pack your seaside essentials and take the two-minute drive to Ivo beach. Stretch out on the soft white sands and swim in the turquoise waters. Head home for an alfresco feast together on the covered terrace that comfortably seats the entire group under the pergola, before bookmarking the day with a couple of cocktails and anecdotes around the firepit.

Ideal for a friend or family getaway, the sun-kissed terraces provide the perfect place to top up your tan, while the private pool provides welcome relief in the heat of the day. All this, while gazing out at stunning sea views across the Bay of Assos. For days out, nearby Vassilikades offers two tavernas while the picturesque harbour of Fiscardo and the world-famous sandy beach of Myrtos are easily accessible by car.
