Inside the décor is fresh and functional, providing everything you need for day-to-day life, but we’re not sure you’ll be spending a lot of time in there when the outdoor space is so good. Head outside and make a splash in the dolphin-shaped swimming pool, then dry off on a sun lounger as you sip a cool drink. When you get hungry, fire up the barbeque for a freshly-grilled feast, and serve up your culinary creations at the alfresco dining table – delicious. 

Rocky Amandakis Beach is just a twelve-minute walk away, where you can soak up the sun and swim in the crystal clear water. If you'd prefer to stretch out on the sand, then jump in the car and drive over to Pessada Beach, fifteen minutes away. And, if you head inland, you can visit the ruined Castle of Agios Georgios for some spectacular views across the whole island.

It's this villa's natural surroundings that really caught our eye – you've got a striking mountainous backdrop with stunning sea views in front. There’s a private pool deck, complete with sun loungers, an alfresco dining area and a barbecue, perfect for spending the entire day relaxing at home or returning from a busy day along the coast. Location-wise, you're a short drive from Trapezaki's quiet sandy beach, with the long stretch of Lourdas beach only ten minutes away by car. While you will have to hire a car to make the most of your stay, the views are certainly worth it.

Surrounded by Magnolias and Mediterranean views, this Kefalonian villa is something to remember. From here, you’re just a short drive from the picture-perfect cove of St.Thomas Bay where you’ll find golden sands and shallow waters – perfect if you’re visiting with little ones. Speaking of, back at the villa there’s a children’s play area and pool for family days alfresco, as well as a built-in barbecue to cook up grilled feasts. Though the bathrooms are on the minimal side, the rest of the house feels modern and inviting – meals are made effortless thanks to the kitchen’s handy appliances, while sleeps are blissful thanks to the coastal breeze through the balcony doors.

Kefalonia is one of the most beautiful destinations in Greece, and this home is one of the most striking holiday homes we’ve seen. Staying here, you’re able to enjoy all that the island has to offer from a luxurious and serene villa, with your every need catered for. 

The villa has a traditional stone exterior, with stylish touches like floor-to-ceiling windows. Light streams into the home, adding to the subtly tranquil style of the home. Each bedroom has its own special features, be it a private balcony for you to take your morning coffee on, or a rainfall shower that washes away any lingering stresses. 

Outside, the villa’s magic really starts to show. A spacious terrace leads to the inviting infinity pool, which looks out over the lush land below and beyond to the sea. Dining under the pergola is delightful – with a breeze dancing through your hair and the views stretched out before you, it’s impossible not to relax. Another slightly raised space under a pergola boasts comfortable sofas – this is where you’ll want to watch the sun sink in the sky each evening.

You could never tire of the panoramic views of the Ionian Sea from this villa fringing the laid-back village of Spartia. The contemporary interiors will appeal to all you minimalists, and the private sauna, steam room and gym are a bonus. There's also a playroom and table tennis to keep kids busy. While the infinity-edged pool is impressive, it's worth noting there is open-barred poolside fencing surrounding it, so you'll need to keep a watchful eye on little ones. Location-wise, you're just a few minutes' drive from Spartia's sandy cove beach (2.2km), minimarket, bakery and local tavernas. Or, for a change of scene, the golden sands of Avithos and Agios Thomas are just a fifteen-minute drive.

And when you’re ready to venture out further afield, you’ll find Spartia Beach easily reachable by car.

The Greek living we dream of on cold winter days is brought to life in this villa on the Liakias peninsular. Days are filled with blue; the turquoise swimming pool, the cerulean sky, and the aquamarine Ionian sea. 

The home has been designed for holidays, with simple pine furniture, comfy sofas, and monochrome prints on the walls. However, it still feels homely despite its seasonal use, with wrought-iron bed frames and deep baths to soak in. 

The real scene-stealer? Out on the long front balcony, which has prime views over the ocean and across to Zante. Set at the foot of mount Ainos, this achingly beautiful villa is perfectly set up for friendly get-togethers and family trips to the Greek islands. Located inland, but not far away from the sandy beaches of Trapezaki, Lourdas and Spartia, you're secluded yet ideally positioned. You're also only a ten-minute drive to the vibrant town of Argostoli.

Famous for its black fir and wild horses, this scenic landscape is right at the heart of the villa with a sprawling pool terrace, balcony and large picture windows optimising the far-reaching views at every level. Take it easy with a moment of stillness on the terrace, or perhaps you'll pull up a sun lounger for a morning tan. The rooms are traditional and basic, but the balcony has great sea views and the ground-floor bedroom has direct access to the garden. Your host can help arrange car rentals, plus the private parking will come in handy for those looking to explore some of the island’s most beautiful beaches.

Now that's what we call a view. Perched on a hill overlooking Mounda Beach and the Ionian Sea, it's no wonder this Kefalonia villa caught our eye. Thanks to a private infinity pool and a sunny terrace, you'll have ample opportunities to admire the scenery – although the sleek, minimalist interiors aren't too shabby, either. We also love the location. You'll be just a short walk from local tavernas and cafes, plus an easy drive to the charming streets of Skala. The nearest beach is about 4 kilometres away, so we suggest hiring a car – not to worry, as private, off-roading parking is included.
