It's fair to say that each of the Greek islands has a distinct identity and Spetses appeals to those fond of the finer things in life, with plenty of high-end restaurants and boutiques dotted across the map. You'll also find some rather impressive villas, such as this majestic home.

Spread across three floors, the star of the show has to be the swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with loungers on which to dry off after a dip. Up on the top floor, you'll find another terrace with pleasingly green views, but if you need a break from the sun, there's a verandah with a dining table and a hammock practically begging for a post-lunch snooze.

The interior feels typically Greek with whitewashed walls, shuttered windows and a few boho touches in the furnishings and decorations. The glass doors on the ground floor bring in plenty of natural light, as well as a burst of fresh air when swung open. We've also got kind words for the contemporarily styled kitchen in a dashing shade of grey, too.

When it comes to seeing a little more is the island, there are small beaches within three hundred metres of the home, while the larger Kaiki beach takes about ten minutes to reach on foot. Art Deco aficionados will adore this home on the Athenian riviera. Designed by a French architect in the 1930s, the special house has been modernised over the years but is still rich in original features. From the grand oak staircase to the terrazzo tiles in the hallway, it's a visual feast for nostalgic travellers.

And there's more to see in the gardens – that's right, there are two gardens. On the east side, you'll find a sun lounger-fringed swimming pool as well as a peaceful veranda. The west garden is home to a flourishing orange tree, which provides shade for the six-person dining table. Grill up a storm on the barbecue and spend all evening outdoors.

History buffs can't leave this area without visiting the Temple of Apollo at Corinth, fifteen minutes away by car. The limestone structure is perched on a rocky hill with views over the ancient city. But even closer to home, there are plenty of beaches, shops and tavernas to meet all of your holiday needs – you'll likely hear the Loutraki Waterfalls whispering as you stroll around the village.

This charming home can be found on a vineyard estate just outside of Porto Heli, one of the most stylish towns in Greece. Known as the Riviera of the Peloponnese, Porto Heli boasts stylish eateries, beautiful homes and a rugged yet captivating coastline with countless secluded bays and coves. Just three minutes away from the town is this villa, tucked into the grounds of a vineyard with privacy provided by acres of land. 


The setting may be traditional but the villa is chic and comfortable. An open-plan living space brings in sunlight, and plenty of seating means you can spend your evenings drinking wine and catching up. The bedrooms open out onto a terrace with wonderful views of the vineyard and surrounding mountains – it’s hard to believe you’re so close to the town given how peaceful it is here. 

Make the most of your location by packing a picnic and strolling out among the olive groves. Find a romantic spot in the shadow of the mountains and tuck into fresh bread drizzled in local honey and, of course, delicious local olives. 

The beach is just three minutes away, and you can even take a boat to Spetses, a glamorous spot popular with Greeks for weekend getaways. After just ten minutes on a boat, whizzing through the crystal clear water, you’ll be exploring the picturesque town centre or sunbathing on a quiet beach.

Perched on the edge of the Peloponesse peninsula, this villa cannot be accused of not making the most of its glorious position. 

In the outside space, the view of the Aegean Sea can be admired from the alfresco dining table on the terrace or from the cool waters of the swimming pool. There are further shady spots to be discovered in the garden filled with Mediterranean vegetation.

The villa's interior feels bright and breezy thanks to the large glass windows, high vaulted ceilings and the whitewashed walls, while the furnishings are generally contemporary in style, particularly the transparent dining room chairs and the super-sleek bathrooms.

As you can probably guess from the panorama, it doesn't take too long to reach the sea here — in fact, the closest beach takes three minutes to reach on foot. The port town of Porto Cheli is a ten-minute drive away and you can also catch a ferry to the island of Spetses from Kosta, just five minutes away in the car.

With the glistening waters of the Argolic Gulf and the looming landmass of Argolis on the horizon, plus olive groves and evergreen forest to either side, you couldn't ask for a better view than the one this villa enjoys.

As you would hope, there are plenty of ways to admire this panorama, whether it's while paddling in the swimming pool, dining on the terrace or catching some rays on one of the loungers.

We love the unique decor of this home, as well as the incredible unobstructed views you'll get across the Greek countryside. Those lucky enough to snap up the main bedroom will get fantastic sea views from their own private balcony too. The large veranda is a wonderful space for alfresco dining and if you stay here in the cooler months, there are a couple of fireplaces to keep you warm. Guests will have full access to the lush and well-tended gardens, as well as a private swimming pool. We suggest a car for ease – the nearest beach is 2.3 km away.
