From the moment we saw the views from this villa in the village of Firostefani, we were sold. Endless stretches of blue radiate from all sides, best enjoyed from the terrace and hot tub. There’s an alfresco dining spot too that’s just waiting to be used for Greek treats in the sun, and when the rays get too strong, you can retreat inside amid the villa’s cool whitewashed walls. There are a few signs of wear and tear in the decor and the kitchen is on the small side. But with Fira just a ten-minute walk away, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to sample the local fare. And when you’re ready for a dip in the sea, pebbly Gialos Beach is 3.5 kilometres from your door.


Sun Shores

Situated underneath the Venetian-era Pyrgos Castle in Santorini, it's hard to imagine this beautiful setting being the site of a factory, but rather remarkably, this home has an industrial history. In a former life, the building was used solely for the production of wine and tsipouro.

It has since been refurbished to become a set of four self-contained homes that can be booked out all at once. There are still signs of its history, from the cave-like rooms and the massive piece of machinery that sits in the middle of one of the living rooms. 

However, there are plenty of luxurious touches that have since been added, like the swimming pool and Jacuzzi that sit in the middle of the outdoor space, as well as the dreamy rooftop terrace that looks out over the Aegean Sea and neighbouring islands.

The historic village of Pyrgos has medieval streets and alleys to peek around, as well as a handful of restaurants and the aforementioned castle. There's also an abundance of wineries in the local area if you feel inspired by the villa, as well as Kamari Beach, which can easily be reached with a car.

The monolithic structure stands sentry over the surrounding countryside, dotted with vineyards that slope towards the Aegean Sea and offering views over Akrotiri Caldera and Aspronisi island. Spread over three floors, it's intended to function as a single residence. However, with bedrooms on the first and basement levels, plus a separate suite, it can be split into three entirely self-contained units, making it an ideal candidate for multigenerational families or groups of friends who want to retain some privacy.


Low Down Rolling Stone

Relax in the outdoor jacuzzi and take in the fantastic views of the medieval castle. This unique domed villa, influenced by traditional Aegean architecture, is dug into the rocky grounds of the ancient village of Emporio, harmoniously blending in with the beautiful landscape. Sit in the egg chair or get some shade on the loungers. The garden is perfect for an alfresco lunch of saganaki (fried cheese in filo pastry covered in honey). We love it here in the evening when the garden lights come on, giving this space a magical feel. 

Inside, whitewashed walls show off the ornately carved wood furniture to a treat. We adore the four-poster bed in the master bedroom too. This place is the perfect Santorini retreat for a family or group of friends.

If you fancy a day at the beach, Vlychada is just over a mile, while the dramatic black sands of Perissa are just over 2 miles away. For history lovers, Akrotiri, a Cycladic Bronze Age settlement, is a ten-minute drive. 




Poseidon's Land

Santorini is known for its mystical caldera views, charming villages of hilly cobblestone paths, and lavish accommodations. Here, in this hillside villa, you get the best of it all. The ancient streets of one of the island’s most picturesque villages, Akrotiri, are right outside, while the home itself sets the scene for the perfect Santorini getaway.

Commanding vistas of the old Castle of Akrotiri, the sparkling caldera, and the looming volcano are in full view from the outdoor area. Exploring comes easy here. Take the short 200-metre walk to White Beach, hop in the car for a day out in Fira, and visit the iconic viewpoints of Oia.
