The southern Peloponnese is known for its beautiful golden beaches, charming old-world villages and archaeological sites steeped in history. And from this spot in Valira, you'll be well-placed to make the most of it. Hop in the car to explore this picturesque region and you'll find something new at every turn. Head to Bouka Beach for a dip in the sea (just 18km away), nibble on the namesake olives in Kalamata's local eateries or step back in time at the ruins in Ancient Messene.

The Ocean Reflections

This modern and bold apartment lies in the heart of the vibrant city of Kalamata. While we recommend a car here (there’s parking), you can also explore the city on foot. At the top of our sightseeing list? The Modern Greek Art Gallery, The Benakeion Archaeological Museum, and the Vassileos Georgiou (King George) Square, which is lined with coffee shops and little eateries. If you feel like cooking in for a night, there’s a large kitchen with bar seats, so you can enjoy a glass of wine with your guests as you cook. And when you’re ready for a nightcap, head out to the terrace for the sunset.

Kalamata Kool

Location-wise though, if the glittering blue vistas tempt you to the sea, you’ll find the beaches of Stoupa and Pantazis in Agios Nikolaos just five minutes away by car.
