Perched on a hilltop within walking distance of Agios Prokopios Beach and a short car ride from Naxos, this room offers a restful stay for a couple or solo traveller. There’s no kitchen here, so you’ll need to head out at mealtimes. Fortunately, there are plenty of tavernas within driving distance of your doorstep. Our favourite feature was the terrace – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool, especially after a nap on the loungers.

Chic and stylish, this suite has an air of understated luxury. While it’s on the small side, the private garden has more than enough space for two and boasts a private pool. There’s no kitchen here, so we think this home is best suited to a couple or two friends who want to relax and take time off from everyday tasks. There’s a Greek taverna close by where you can sample some of the local cuisine, and you’ll have your own dining table to sit and enjoy a coffee each morning. The location is a real selling point – the beautiful Laguna Beach is just 550 metres away.

Happily, you’re just a short walk from the beach so you’re unlikely to spend much time inside. Naxos town is only 10 kilometres away, too, ideal for evenings out.

Perfect for family holidays, this pet-friendly villa places Plaka Beach a 100-metre stroll away. While hiring a car is advisory if you wish to explore Chora – it's 7 kilometres away – we wouldn't blame you if you'd rather stay closer to home. After all, with a private pool, an alfresco dining table and a fire pit, outdoor relaxation is taken care of. There are also lovely spots on the terrace to arrange an at-home yoga class, not to mention sleek living areas inside when you fancy unwinding out of the sun.

This villa might be on the outskirts of Naxos Town, within easy walking distance of all waterfront bars, restaurants and traditional tavernas, but it’s blissfully quiet. That could be because it’s a bit like a palace, set in oodles of gardens. The design is traditionally Cycladic with smooth, white stone hewn into towers and walls. We love the moat-like swimming pool that surrounds a stone terrace accessed by a humped bridge. Wooden decks and raised stone patios house beanbag chairs, loungers and stone sofas shaded by macrame parasols. 

This place was made for entertaining, with a sleek taverna-like bar and semi-open kitchen the ideal spot for drinks and meals in the open air. Stone archways lead to raised lounges with Moroccan-style sofas and there’s a second kitchen with an old fireplace and pots and pans hanging from the centre island like the kitchens of old Greece. Bedrooms are pure romance, with candle-filled alcoves and Cycladic tradition radiating from thick stone walls. Those who value privacy above all else can opt for the separate guest cottage in the gardens.

It's five minutes on foot to the centre of Naxos Town, and also a five-minute walk to the crystal shallows of St George Beach, perfect for swimming.

Admire the Venetian architecture, visit the Archaeological Museum and fill up on local fare in a family-run taverna.

You can stroll easily to Paralia Glifada, but you’ll need a car to get around further.

Naxos averages more than 10 hours of sunshine a day in the summer months and almost no rain in June, July, August and September.

The interior space is a haven of calm, cloaked in crisp colours and natural textures – it's the perfect place to hang out and find some respite from the heat. The eco-conscious ethos here means there are photovoltaic panels and solar water heaters, along with recycling practices on-site. If you want to catch some rays, you can head onto the terrace to stretch out on a lounger, but if you prefer the shade then the cool terrace is the place for you. And, there's even a hot tub where you can enjoy a long, revitalising soak under the stars come evening. 

The surrounding gardens are luscious and green, with trees and a pond – you can even visit the estate's vineyard and vegetable farm to pick up some local produce. From here, you can take a seven-minute drive down to Agios Georgios Beach for a day relaxing on the golden sand and swimming in the crystal clear water. And, if you want to savour some local seafood or sip a cocktail in one of the trendy bars, buzzing Naxos town is right there too.

The main town and ferry port is around twenty minutes away by car, but there’s nothing better than embracing the quiet of your beachside locale. A long infinity pool makes the most of bay views and you can watch boats drift by from the suntrap of a rooftop terrace. There are plenty of spots for wining, dining and reclining on the vast patios and balconies. Bedrooms have been designed suite-style and embrace the breezy minimalism of the Cyclades.  

Blue Apollo

Boasting sea and mountain views, this tranquil villa with its typical Cycladic style promises a memorable coastal retreat. Set over three floors, there’s space for up to nine guests to spread out here – although bear in mind that at full occupancy, two will be sleeping on the bed in the living area, so privacy is lacking. There’s a communal pool, shared with the neighbouring two villas, perfect for cooling off in the Greek sun, and when you fancy a beach day, it’s a mere 600-metre stroll to the sands of Plaka beach.

Nestled against a breathtaking backdrop of rugged mountains, this home impresses from the offset. Its whitewashed facade is situated across two separate units, providing an idyllic base for families and large groups. With its sun-soaked patios, shaded pergolas and two glistening swimming pools, you'll love spending your days here soaking up the Cyclades sun.

Inside, white walls echo the villa's dreamy exterior and usher in sunlight to flood the space. Warm tones and earthy textures cloak the living spaces, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The bedrooms, on the other hand, take on a regal guise. Adorned with lavish decor and striking accents of bronze, copper and gold, they promise a divine slumber fit for Zeus himself. 

We love this home's ample outdoor spaces. Start your days perched on the balcony, sipping coffee in the soft morning sun and gazing at sweeping views of the mountains and the sea. You can even spot Chora in the distance, the island's lively capital. Spend your days wandering the cobblestone streets, admiring Cyclades architecture, ancient castles and the enchanting Temple of Apollo. If you're after leisurely days on the coast, you're in the right place. The white sands of Laguna Beach, a popular surfing spot, are just 400 metres away – a six-minute walk from your front door.

This villa is in a peaceful spot, just a five-minute walk from the beach. While it may not be the most luxurious in our collection and feels dated in parts, with views of the Aegean Sea, a private pool, and a choice of outdoor seating areas, it has plenty to offer. Keen cooks can make the most of the fresh herbs and spices growing in the garden and there’s a dining table seating twelve for alfresco meals. And when you’re ready to explore, Naxos Town, with its lively port and charming old town, is a 16-kilometre drive away.

With sea views, a private pool and a selection of sunny and shaded terraces to soak up the Greek weather, this villa is made for outdoor living. Inside, the home is simple and serene in typical Cycladic style, and while some may not favour the built-in furniture, it certainly adds to the character of this home. Nearby, you’ll find Kastraki beach just one kilometre away and a trip to Naxos town will reveal lots of local delicacies – our personal favourite is arseniko cheese, a must-try while on the island. 

Cycladic Gem

Compact but cosy, this stylish apartment may be petite, but it has all the luxe touches you'll need. Mornings here begin with a coffee on the balcony, followed by an afternoon dip in the private pool. As the day draws to a close, end the evening with an alfresco glass of wine as the sun goes down before getting cosy in front of the fireplace. Mixing classic Cycladic design with an antique flair, the living area is an excellent spot to kick off your shoes and relax. A DVD player and movie library will keep you entertained during chilled nights at home, while the two sumptuous bedrooms promise a good night's sleep. We also love the sleek bathrooms – the high-end toiletries, fluffy bathrobes and lavish rainfall showers are hard to resist. 

The kitchen here is tiny, so we don't think you'll be doing a lot of cooking – not a problem, considering Naxos' array of tavernas, bars and restaurants is only a seven-minute drive away. Also close by is Agios Prokopios Beach, about five minutes by car – perfect for when you crave the feeling of sand between your toes.
