There isn’t a swimming pool here, but it does have a balcony and a terrace with a barbecue – perfect for alfresco dining. Your host can also help organise a range of extra services, including massage treatments, guided island tours and car rentals. This villa might be on the outskirts of Naxos Town, within easy walking distance of all waterfront bars, restaurants and traditional tavernas, but it’s blissfully quiet. That could be because it’s a bit like a palace, set in oodles of gardens. The design is traditionally Cycladic with smooth, white stone hewn into towers and walls. We love the moat-like swimming pool that surrounds a stone terrace accessed by a humped bridge. Wooden decks and raised stone patios house beanbag chairs, loungers and stone sofas shaded by macrame parasols. 

This place was made for entertaining, with a sleek taverna-like bar and semi-open kitchen the ideal spot for drinks and meals in the open air. Stone archways lead to raised lounges with Moroccan-style sofas and there’s a second kitchen with an old fireplace and pots and pans hanging from the centre island like the kitchens of old Greece. Bedrooms are pure romance, with candle-filled alcoves and Cycladic tradition radiating from thick stone walls. Those who value privacy above all else can opt for the separate guest cottage in the gardens.

It's five minutes on foot to the centre of Naxos Town, and also a five-minute walk to the crystal shallows of St George Beach, perfect for swimming.

You can stroll easily to Paralia Glifada, but you’ll need a car to get around further.

This villa is in a peaceful spot, just a five-minute walk from the beach. While it may not be the most luxurious in our collection and feels dated in parts, with views of the Aegean Sea, a private pool, and a choice of outdoor seating areas, it has plenty to offer. Keen cooks can make the most of the fresh herbs and spices growing in the garden and there’s a dining table seating twelve for alfresco meals. And when you’re ready to explore, Naxos Town, with its lively port and charming old town, is a 16-kilometre drive away.

If a day on the beach is on the cards, you have two to choose from a short drive away. Kastraki beach has white sand, calm water and the chance to take it easy. Naxos Town is fifteen kilometres away, so it’s ideal for dinners out or afternoons strolling the narrow streets and admiring the architecture. Inside the home, it’s pared-back and functional with a neutral colour scheme and raw and refined natural textures. The living space is the perfect place to begin your mornings, perched at the breakfast bar with a cup of coffee or stretched out on the corner sofa. 

Outside, the inviting pool is just what’s needed on long, hot afternoons and the neat terrace is ideal for watching burning sunsets. If you’re keen to explore a little, take the five-kilometre drive to Naxos Town for charming cobbled streets, traditional tavernas and the intriguing Archaeological Museum, filled with ancient Cycladic art.

When the Sun Hits

Perched on a hilltop within walking distance of Agios Prokopios Beach and a short car ride from Naxos, this room offers a restful stay for a couple or solo traveller. There’s no kitchen here, so you’ll need to head out at mealtimes. Fortunately, there are plenty of tavernas within driving distance of your doorstep. Our favourite feature was the terrace – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool, especially after a nap on the loungers.

Views of the Aegean Sea draw the eye from almost every angle at this beautiful boho home. The outside space is dreamy, with terraces for dining and drinking in the views, and a private outdoor pool. The space inside is lovely too, though the living room is on the small side – and at full occupancy two guests will be sleeping there on a sofa bed. Happily, you’re just a short walk from the beach so you’re unlikely to spend much time inside. Naxos town is only 10 kilometres away, too, ideal for evenings out.

This Greek villa – complete with a guest space housing an additional double bedroom – is located on the island of Naxos and is surrounded by over half an acre of gardens and terrace area, allowing you a private and peaceful escape. 

VIP arrivals and departures mean that you can be sipping on refreshing drinks on your way from the airport to this home. When you arrive, why not head straight to the pool area and lounge in the sunshine before slipping into the cooling waters of your private pool where you can swim to the edge and admire the turquoise ocean.

Within a two-minute walk, you can be on an almost-private beach that the villa overlooks, or wander slightly further to the golden sands of Agios Prokopios Beach, which is 700m away.

Have a day out at the Aqua Fun waterpark – just a four-minute drive away – which provides fun for all the family. Or, if Greek culture is what you’re looking for why not visit the Temple of Apollo and Archaeological museum of Naxos, the Archaeological site of Yria Naxos, or the Temple of Demeter – all within easy driving distance.

Return home in the evening and cook up some delicious Greek cuisine on the barbecue before dining alfresco under the shaded pergola, with stunning views while you eat. Then, end the day with a movie night in the villa’s cinema, and watch a film set in Greece such as Captain Corelli’s Mandolin or Mama Mia.

Part of a luxurious villa complex in Naxos, this home plants you in beautiful natural surroundings. Between mountains and coastline, there are several outdoor spots from which to admire the view, from the balcony to the plush sun beds that line the private pool. While the garden is only partially fenced, there are still private spots around the home to enjoy some quiet time to yourself. Plaka beach is just 450 metres away, but if you fancy exploring a little further afield we’d recommend renting a car to get around.

As you arrive, your eye will immediately be drawn to the view. The pretty blue vista is instantly calming – as you breathe in the sea air and drink in the view, you’ll feel your worries melt away. The infinity pool faces the sea, adding another inviting blue shade to the colour palette. The shallow end of the pool has built-in sun loungers, so you can sunbathe while dipping a toe in the water – it’s the most tranquil feeling. 

Inside, the villa is a vision in white. Cool and calm, it’s a lovely space to return to after days spent in the sunshine. Plaka Beach is a nineteen-minute walk from the villa, so you can easily spend your days splashing around in the sea or building sandcastles, then return to the villa in time for sunset. Prepare cocktails to sip on the terrace as you watch the sky shift into pastel shades, then lie out watching the stars.

This elegant two-storey villa is situated in the village of Agia Anna, just 300 metres from one of the island’s idyllic beaches. With a lovely outdoor area, perfect for enjoying alfresco meals and catching the rays, the place is a good fit for families or groups of friends. There are even some herb beds in the garden, in case you feel like rustling up a family feast. Note that there are some stairs inside the home so children will need to be supervised.

With three separate buildings, there’s plenty of room for families or groups. The beach is a ten-minute walk, or you can explore Plaka, Agia Anna, and Prokopios further along the coast. Inside, the bedrooms are on the simple side, but perfectly functional. We'd recommend hiring a car to fully explore, but the bus to Naxos town is great if you want to experience the island like a local.

Where it's wedged between rolling hills and the sea, this waterfront villa was made for beach lovers and sun worshippers alike. With Plaka Beach so close, the private pool almost seems redundant – almost, but what's better than a poolside cocktail in a sun lounger – and local tavernas only a short stroll away, this home gets a big tick for location. But we also like the flexibility of having an adjacent apartment that puts just enough distance between it and the villa for a teenager or grandparent to have a little extra privacy when joining in on a family holiday. There's also ample seating to admire the views from.

Lucky for you, this villa with its beautiful Cycladic architecture and seaside colour palette, has your best interests at heart. Which is exactly why everything about it – from the egg chair in the bedroom to the shared pool and sunloungers – is set up for you to simply unwind. Spend lazy mornings in bed or sitting out on the balcony with a cup of freshly-brewed coffee. When the mood strikes, take a dip in the pool before a long afternoon sunbathing, listening to that special holiday playlist you spent hours creating. If you fancy wandering off site, there are beaches, monuments, and castles to be seen, and if you’re feeling especially adventurous, you can take up windsurfing at Orkos Beach.

If you're looking for a villa that's close to the sea, you're not going to get many nearer than this — the golden sand of Plaka Beach is a mere twenty metres away. Not bad, right?

However, despite this excellent proximity, this home doesn't rest on its laurels. Comprised of two separate houses, both have the same contemporary design that's heavy on soothingly white walls and sleek furnishings. The communal outdoor space is equally impressive, thanks mainly to the large swimming pool surrounded by inviting-looking loungers that sits in the middle of the garden.

There's a barbecue here if you fancy cooking up a grilled Grecian feast, but there's also the option of having a private chef prepare all your meals. The host can also help arrange beauty treatments, butlers and daily excursions, too. When you want to see a little more of the island, there are plenty of hiking routes and historic attractions in the mountainous inland, while the main town of Naxos only takes fifteen minutes to reach in the car.

On the first level, guests will find a spacious living room with a TV and air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table, oven, refrigerator, kitchenware, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, and two single sofa beds. There is also a bathroom and two verandas with outdoor furniture and stunning sea views, as well as two bedrooms with double beds.
