When presented with this prime spot in the south of Paros with a glorious view of the sparkling Aegean Sea in the distance, the two civil engineers that designed this villa decided to opt for simplicity. Judging by the finished project, we'd say that was a wise choice.

The building embraces Cycladic architectural trends for clean lines, boxy shapes and pure white walls. The outside space is dominated by the swimming pool, which is surrounded by loungers and a covered terrace area that's home to a traditional stone barbecue. It's perfectly possible to spend your whole day out here, admiring the Mediterranean panorama.

Heading inside, the generously sized rooms are home to contemporary furnishings and a sleek minimalist kitchen, although there are enough quirky touches to keep it from looking too anonymous – the driftwood lampshade above the dining table is particularly eye-catching. On the lower ground floor, there's also a large multi-functional room that holds workout equipment and games.

As you can guess from the coastal view, the nearest beach isn't too far away – Paralia Makra Miti takes only seven minutes to reach on foot. The town of Alyki is a five-minute drive away and the island's main town of Paroikia takes a quarter of an hour.

If sea views are what you're after, this contemporary villa is certainly up to the task. Admiring the Aegean will be effortless here, whether you're swimming in the private pool or dining alfresco on the terrace. The interior is sleek and minimal, although the white-washed rooms lack charm. That aside, with en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan living area, groups will have more than enough space to unwind. Location-wise, the small and secluded Makria Myti Beach is only a five-minute walk away. Further afield – about ten minutes on foot – is the fishing village of Aliki, home to tavernas, shops and eateries aplenty.

One of the more modest villas in our collection, this home's excellent location meant that we felt compelled to include it. As you look out at the sparkling Aegean Sea while tending to the barbecue on the terrace or make the sixty-second stroll down to Farangas Beach, you might be inclined to think we made the right choice.

That's not to say the home itself is a compromise in any way. The architecture is traditionally Cycladic in influence, with arched doorways, exposed stonework and wooden ceiling beams. Some of the furnishings are in keeping with this aesthetic, like the weathered coffee table and mirror frame, but there are others, such as the mid-century-inspired chairs in the living room, that add a little more contemporary flair.

As well as the beach almost literally on your doorstep, there are restaurants and a few more seaside spots in the next village over of Aliki, around five minutes' drive away. The island's main town of Parikia takes just under twenty minutes to reach in the car, too.

In the hills above the charming fishing village of Aliki, this brand new villa has beautiful sea and sunset views. In Aliki, you’ll find a handful of restaurants and upmarket tavernas lining the seafront, traditional bakeries and two sweeps of sandy beach. And it’s just a fifteen-minute drive to Paros town to catch the ferry or simply explore a charming harbour town.

The first thing you’ll notice on arrival at this villa is the beautiful view of the Aegean Sea from the terrace. Perhaps this is best enjoyed while soaking in the hot tub and plunge pool, or while reclining on the built-in sofas and sunbeds. Dining outdoors comes courtesy of a shaded pergola.

The view continues inside, where big windows in the bright living room take in the sea panorama. It’s open-plan living, designed for socialising on plush sofas and around the big dining table. This villa in the south of Paros is blessed with a sweeping view of the Aegean Sea and Cycladic islands on the distant horizon. Thankfully, you're not short of spots from which you can enjoy this panorama. As well as a terrace complete with an alfresco dining area, there's also a balcony on each floor to give you a little more elevation. You could even admire the landscape from the swimming pool if you so wished.

Inside, the design is big on cleansing white shades, whether on the walls, furnishings or minimalist kitchen. As well as being cooling during the summer months, this stark palette makes for a blank canvas against which colourful touches really pop off, like the wave feature wall in one of the bedrooms or the collection of house plants. It would be remiss at this point not to mention that there's a Jacuzzi in the master ensuite, too.

As you can probably guess from the view, it won't take too long to get to the beach. Farangas is a twenty-five-minute walk, for instance. The island's main town of Parikia takes a similar amount of time to reach in the car.

Sitting on 2 acres of swaying olive trees, with walls cloaked in crisp white, this villa doesn't fail to impress. The interior is sleek and modern while retaining the traditional whitewashed walls, earthy tones, and pops of blue that are so intrinsic to Paros. 

The days whittle away as you enjoy a lazy morning reading on one of the outdoor seats, sipping fresh coffee from the Nespresso machine, watching the morning light dance on the calm sea, and the mountains come into focus. After a day of sunning and swimming, you're bound to be hungry. Make your way to the gorgeous Parikia, where its bright white buildings, fuschia coloured flowers, and blue shutters will make you fall in love with the place. Everything about it screams Grecian Summer. It's just a ten-minute drive away and there, you can walk the cobbled streets, nip in trinket shops, drink local wine, and eat all of the delicious Greek food that your stomach will allow.

In addition, four en-suite bedrooms guarantee a great night's sleep, as well as some privacy when you want some space to yourself. All offer direct access to one of three outdoor areas, so there'll be no need to draw straws.

We couldn't fail to be impressed by the outdoor kitchen and barbecue area, which is tailor-made for sociable evenings that continue until well after the sun has sunk over the Aegean. Not to mention the lounge area with sea views, which is a flawless spot to while away a day beneath cloudless Cycladic skies.

With the mercury rising, you might want to head down to the beach club on Faragas Beach, where you can hire sun loungers for the day, enjoy cooling dips in the crystal-clear waters and tuck into sumptuous seafood. Alternatively, drive 15km into the island's capital of Parikia, crisscrossed by winding cobbled lanes and dotted with quaint shops, traditional restaurants and the 13th-century Frankish Castle.

If sweeping views out to sea are what you’re looking for, you’ll love this modern villa. Tucked away in a peaceful residential area on the east side of Paros, this crisp, clean space boasts views of the Aegean from the living room – what more could you want from your Grecian getaway? 

The property has been designed in a horseshoe shape, with the pool and terrace at its heart. The communal spaces and bedrooms lead straight outside, allowing you to embrace the flow of island living. We loved waking up in the morning and slipping straight out of bed and into the pool for a dip, before filling up on pastries and fresh fruit at the breakfast bar. 
For evening meals, you can head to Parikia – just 4km away – or do as we did and fire up the charcoal barbecue. The outdoor dining area is covered by a pergola, handily hidden away at the back of the property for added privacy. Load up fresh seafood and local wine, and settle in for a feast. 

For those able to drag themselves away from the pool, there’s plenty to see and do nearby. The beautiful beaches of Parasporos and Agia Irini are just a few minutes’ drive from the villa, and an excursion to Antiparos, a small island in the southern Aegean, makes for a memorable day out. Hop on a ferry from the petite port of Punta and while away the hours meandering along cobbled streets. Admire the white houses and the magnificent flowers that bloom in the gardens before heading back to the villa to take in the sunset with a cocktail.

If you feel like eating out, the nearest restaurant is also within walking distance and for more options you can head to nearby Dryos. 

The Three Graces

Up above the charming village of Drios, this Paros villa enjoys views over the sugar-cube houses all the way to islands floating on the sea. Spend days swinging in the hammock with a book, or plunging into the bean-shape pool with its infinity edge blending with the blue sky above. The long, covered terrace is home to stone-hewn sofas piled high with cushions and dining for the whole group – particularly atmospheric after sunset when the lanterns are lit and coastal villages sparkle to life before you.

Heading inside, the living room is a vision of Grecian rusticana, with an old whitestone fireplace at its centre. We particularly love the willow-pattern boat motif on the kitchen tiles that blends with nautical-blue cabinets, while the glassware and crockery feel like it’s been made from foraged sea-glass. If you want a quiet moment, there’s a second sitting room, tucked away in an exposed-stone enclave. 

Although sandy Golden Beach is only two kilometres away, it’s not within walking distance as the home is fairly remote and only accessible via a narrow, unpaved road. If you fancy spending the day at a smaller beach, we recommend you drive further down the coast to Drios Beach, three kilometres away. There you'll also find a handful of bakeries for breakfast and tavernas for long lunches by the sea.

The complex offers two villas, with a shared pool. There are offered either separately or together, for large parties of families or friends.

The facilities offered to you in one villa consist of 3 large double bed, bedrooms. There are 3 bathrooms to match. Downstairs, a large open plan lounge dining area is available to you with a fully equipped kitchen. You will also have access to an outdoor dining area, situated on the large terrace, which is accompanied with a barbeque. Outside, you will, of course, be able to chill out by the gorgeous outdoor swimming pool, which is perfect for cooling off from the hot sun. There is also a separate guest room for each villa. The house is fully equipped for preparing breakfast or lunch, there is a dishwasher and washing machine, iron, hairdryer, satellite TV.
