Less than a five-minute drive from the village of Lachania, at the foot of the mountains, there's a choice of eateries and a supermarket within reach, and it's an excellent base from which to explore the south of the island. But with a long, sandy beach and clean swimming water on your doorstep, you may find you have all you need right here.

Inside, a mix of contemporary styling and traditional elements gives this place a timeless feel, with all-white walls and cool, tiled floors. There's an open-plan living area with a well-kitted-out kitchenette and sliding doors opening to the terrace, while the bedrooms are calm and spacious – one leading out to a tiny courtyard. Lachanian Escape

Steps from the beach, this villa in the south of Rhodes pairs sea views with an inviting outdoor space to chill out. Lachania beach is a mere 150 metres away, so one minute you can be swimming laps in the pool, then padding barefoot to the soft sand and saline waters of the Aegean Sea. If you want to explore further afield, the charming town of Lindos is a half-hour drive, where donkeys still clop up and down the narrow streets.

Though there’s plenty to keep you occupied at this home. A delightful terrace is home to a swimming pool, sun loungers and sumptuous sofas beneath private verandas. Then there are the first-floor balconies with panoramic sea views and a real reminder of how close you are to the beach. A barrel barbecue can provide the alfresco dining option.

Inside, you’ll find evidence of traditional Dodecanese architecture in exposed stone walls and stone-hewn showers in ensuites. There’s something of a boho-seaside touch to the design with exposed lightbulbs hanging from rope, tree-stump bedside tables and shell centrepieces, plus the odd Grecian urn a reminder of the ancient roots of Rhodes.

Barefoot To The Shore

This trendy villa faces the sea, and you'll soak up glittering views of the Mediterranean from almost every room. Wake up to coastal views from both bedrooms, while in the living space, glass windows ensure you're soaked in sunshine all day. The interior design is decidedly contemporary (think sleek concrete floors) with a touch of Greek heritage, such as in the warm wooden furnishings and ceiling beams. However, we don't think you'll be spending long indoors considering what's waiting for you ouside - an extensive patio area with a swimming pool, sun loungers, and hammocks, all facing the sea. You could easily spend all day here, starting your day with breakfast at the outdoor dining table and finishing with a barbecue as the sun goes down. You can't leave Greece without taking a dip in the Med though, and it's just a short stroll to Lachania Beach. We'd also recommend driving to nearby Gennadi, which hosts beach parties during the summer and is home to quaint Greek tavernas. If history is your calling, it's just a 30-minute drive to Lindos where you can visit the incredible Acropolis. However, we understand if you choose to spend all day on your own patio, lazing on a sun lounger with a book and enjoying drinks as the sunsets.

n the southern coast of Rhodes, near the peaceful village of Lachania, this modern villa is thoughtfully designed and stylishly executed. In the summer months you’ll want to spend most of your time outside. Start the day by stepping out onto the balcony to admire the breathtaking view down to the sea, before heading down to the pool for a pre-breakfast dip. The house is 150 metres from the coastline, and a three-minute drive from the nearest beach. After a day of frolicking in the sea, head into Lachania, where you’ll find alfresco tavernas and laid back restaurants in the tree-lined square serving Greek and Italian fare. The stars here are beautiful, and there’s no better way to enjoy them than soaking in the hot tub back at home.

We're completely in awe of this home's spectacular views. Here, uninterrupted panoramas out to sea paint a calming canvas of blue. With its open-plan layout and large sliding doors, this home's design works to celebrate its picturesque surroundings. Inside, it's all earthy textures and neutral tones. It worths taking some time and pay a visit. You can find there restaurants, bars and super markets.

Tradition Reimagined

This villa, set on a complex, is around a thirty-second wander from the crystal clear waters of Gennadi Beach. If you want to explore further, Lindos, with its charming streets packed with eateries and boutiques, is twenty minutes in the car. For history lovers, it’s just a few minutes more to Lindos’ stunning Acropolis and the Temple of Athena Lindia.

Or you may just want to unwind on hot, sunny days by this villa’s sparkling pool surrounded by whitewashed walls and greenery – we wouldn’t blame you. Relax on a sun lounger with a glass of wine (your lovely host provides a welcome basket with two bottles of local wine and some traditional homemade goodies).

We love the bathroom with its marble style finish and the beautiful bedroom, which opens onto a terrace with Grecian urns and cacti. This place is the perfect Greek retreat for a couple wanting the beach on their doorstep.

Themed with the same industrial concept as the previous ones has a similar layout and accommodates 6 guests comfortably in three separate bedrooms.

Two bedrooms each one with a king size bed are situated on the first floor alongside a walk-in closet room, and a large shared bathroom with twin sinks and a huge walk in shower.

On the top floor you'll find our premium penthouse suite with the most amazing view found on this side of the island. Panoramic view of the entire south coastline at your feet and the surrounding wildlife natural landscape.

Of course it has its own private bathroom alongside a changing area and its own individual terrace with sunbeds and lounge chairs for some relaxing time in total isolation.

There's just no beating a home like this. Right on the beach and with a huge terrace overlooking the water, it's a sleek, modern home with plenty of space for a large group. One for the water babies, every morning you'll have the choice of swimming in the crystal clear sea or the perfect private pool. 

Inside, this stunning home is a symphony of white, with colour coming in the form of bright orange window frames throughout. There's a large, open-plan living space with a fireplace for the cooler months and a comfy sofa area, along with a long dining table and a high-spec kitchen. One of our favourite features is the glazed inner courtyard, where giant cacti, volcanic rocks and the little matter of an indoor palm tree make quite a statement. Bedrooms are all bright and comfortable, with some opening straight onto the terrace, while one has a mezzanine level and its own seating area.  

Just a twenty-minute drive from Lindos, known for its fabulous restaurants and nightlife, you'll also be a fifteen-minute drive from the windsurfing beach at Prasonisi, with supermarkets even closer. Best of all, you're just a five-minute drive from one of the island's most famous beach bars.

The entire villa is themed in a contemporary industrial style, showcasing concrete ceilings, metal fixtures and stoned grey tiles.

This villa offers 3 separate bedrooms each with a king size bed that can accommodate comfortably up to 6 guests.

On the ground floor you will find a full size, fully equipped and stocked kitchen for all your culinary adventures there's an interior dinning area able to accommodate comfortably up to eight guests as well as a lounge area and a guest bathroom.

On the exterior and at the spacious terrace you'll find your large private swimming pool and the individual heated jacuzzi.

There's also a pergola with a dining table for your morning coffee or your late-night dinner in total isolation and privacy.

Going up on the first floor you'll find two large bedrooms, each with a king size bed, a hallway with a large closet and an oversized bathroom with twin sinks and a walk in shower.

With Kiotari beach on your doorstep, you couldn’t wish for a more relaxed seaside escape – you’ll even find your own sun beds and parasols on the beach, courtesy of the owners. While the villa itself has a fairly traditional style that may not be to everyone’s taste, it’s comfortable and offers plenty of space for a family of four to spread out. Outdoor living is a must with the Greek climate, and the sun-drenched terraces, private pool and children’s play area will keep you out in the fresh coastal air all day long.
