Though we wouldn’t blame you if you spent all your time at the villa itself. An azure swimming pool sits in the manicured lawn, lined with sun loungers. At night, the trees surrounding the pool are uplit, turning this into a magical space after sunset. A huge selection of kids’ pool and lawn toys lets you know this place is family-friendly, and long lazy lunches can be enjoyed on the balustraded terrace above the pool, shaded from the sun. The chef of the group will love the summer kitchen with its built-in grill. Follow the meandering pathways past flowering bushes and greenery to find the secret hot tub beneath a twisting gazebo. This place is full of surprises.

Balsamic & Olive is a rather quirky home perfect for a group of four, irrespective of age. Expect late-night hot-tub soaks under starry skies, dinners with the salty sea-breeze blowing in and morning walks by the relaxed waterfall. We appreciate that we can crank up the AC and tune into Netflix on very hot days but the better days of Summer are packed. Set in Kalithies, history lovers will have their pick of sites to explore and local cafes and bakeries to chill at. Faliraki, a nearby seaside town is a haven of pebbled bays and beaches along with a vibrant night-life to go with it. And of course, when you're done with all that's near you, drive over to Rhodes, a medieval city that's a treasure trove in itself.

Modern and bright, what we love most about this dazzling villa is the garden. You can bet we'd spend every second here making the most of the fabulous weather – sunrise dips in the sparkling pool, afternoon catnaps in the sun-soaked lounge chairs and dinner and drinks in the evenings as the day slowly fades. 

Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows flood each room with light, while the breezy living space's open-plan layout makes socialising easy. We can picture early mornings gathered around the dining table and late nights spent sprawled out on the sofa watching films. The design is perfectly simple, yet it's as sleek and sophisticated as you'd expect from the outside, with modern comforts like rainfall showers and smart TVs only adding to the contemporary feel.

Location-wise, you're an easy twelve-minute stroll from Ialysos Beach when the sea is calling your name. There are restaurants, bars and a bakery within walking distance but for a bit more choice, hop in the car and drive twenty minutes to Rhodes.
