This huge villa on the south coast of Syros is equally impressive inside and out. On summer days, you're sure to want to pass afternoons in the swimming pool full of multicolour LED lights and Jacuzzi, before whipping up a feast in the barbecue area. Just beyond this, there's a well-maintained garden as well as a private beach measuring thirty metres long.

Although it faces tough competition, the interior somehow manages to match this. The all-white walls, floor and furnishings are instantly soothing and allow for some of the more characterful touches to really pop out, including bold pieces of artwork, rustic wood decorations and nods to the area's nautical history — the kid's bed shaped like a boat is particularly adorable. The gym and home cinema will be appreciated by some of the guests as well.

In addition to the neighbouring seaside, the town of Ermoupoli takes only thirteen minutes to reach in the car and offers a range of historic monuments, museums, and a gallery. Gria Cave is under thirty minutes' drive away, too.

The perfect home for relaxing and recovering, why not take so time to lounge in the Greek sunshine and enjoy the warmth of its rays on your skin. Then, slip into the cooling waters of the freshwater swimming pool, and enjoy the stunning views while you float leisurely in the pool. 

Just a six-minute drive to Otzias, you can enjoy the sandy beaches and soothing sound of waves lapping at the shore, or dine in one of the local Tavernas. The village of Vourkari – just an eight-minute drive away – provides an opportunity for not only beach days but also scuba diving experiences. 

Coressia, the island’s port, is just a twelve-minute drive away, while the capital Ioulis is a twenty-five-minute drive away. In Ioulis you will be able to visit the archaeological museum and even see the Lion of Kea – an impressive early Greek stone monument that dates back to the Archaic period. 

What’s more, there is a regular ferry connection between Athens and Kea which takes about an hour, taking you to the Lavrion port. From here, you can drive about fifty-six minutes to Greece’s capital and explore everything Athens has to offer. 

After all your exploring, return home to the villa in the evening and cook some delicious souvlaki on the barbecue before dining alfresco as you enjoy the sun setting over the vista.

Parikia, the capital, is only a seven-minute drive – head there for eateries, cultural landmarks and cobbled alleys lined with pretty white houses and flowered balconies. We love the sea and mountain views from the private pool and roof terrace, as well as the spacious garden surrounded by idyllic countryside and olive groves. One thing to note – the villa’s accommodation is split between the main house and an apartment and guest house, so it's ideal for large families and friends. Out and about, there are gorgeous wineries and beaches to explore, including Aspros Gremos, a short drive away.

Comprising of four separate buildings, with shared terraces and a pool, this home has enough space to spread out and come back together for alfresco meals and sunbathing. Located in Sifnos, there are some beautiful beaches to explore, all within a 25-minute drive so we’d recommend renting a car. It’s worth noting that due to the low walls and stone steps, this home is not suitable for young children, but we think it’s ideal for a group of friends looking to relax and socialise.

It consists of three separate self-sufficient villas – perfect when you want to go on holiday with friends or family, but still have that bit of privacy. Set among farmland and orchards, the property has some amazing views and we love that you’re only a short stroll away from Lolantolis beach. If you feel like eating out, the nearest restaurant is also within walking distance and for more options you can head to nearby Dryos.

Like a scene from a postcard, the views from this waterfront villa are pretty spectacular. We could easily spend all day on the terrace, drinking wine in the sun and watching the boats bob in the harbour as the tide rises and falls. Don't even get us started on the Aegean sea sunsets – they're downright magical, and you'll have a front-row seat. 

A former mayor's residence, this home was built in 1850 and has oodles of character inside – think beams on the high ceilings and shutters on the windows. Yet every room is bright, crisp and super sleek, thanks to the minimal decorations and white colour scheme. The design is pared-back on purpose so you can focus on the scenery, but don't let that fool you. It still has all the mod-cons and upgrades you'll want on holiday, including Molton Brown toiletries, Netflix access, flexible housekeeping, an on-call concierge, and the option for private chefs and yacht charters.

While hiring a car is advisory if you wish to explore Chora – it's 7 kilometres away – we wouldn't blame you if you'd rather stay closer to home. After all, with a private pool, an alfresco dining table and a fire pit, outdoor relaxation is taken care of. There are also lovely spots on the terrace to arrange an at-home yoga class, not to mention sleek living areas inside when you fancy unwinding out of the sun.

Perched on top of a hill in the north of Paros, this villa has the double whammy of having no neighbours and a quintessentially Cycladic view of the azure sea and distant islands on the horizon.

On the island of Serifos, this idyllic villa is just a twenty-minute stroll away from Livadi village, harbour and an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops. With so many beaches within easy reach too, you'll never be far away from the island's sparkling turquoise waters from here. 

From the villa's terrace, watch the yachts pass by as you soak up undisturbed views of the Aegean Sea in complete and utter privacy. Whether you're lounging by the pool, gathered around the alfresco dining area or stationed under the shaded pergola lounge area, enjoy the breathtaking vistas that stand before you from morning through to night. 

You can even make the most of the views from the stunning interior of the home too. Dressed in simple elegance, the pistachio green colour scheme offers an equally soothing atmosphere as the terrace. We love the beachy designs and laid-back vibe found inside this light and airy space – as relaxing in this setting couldn't be easier.

The island of Mykonos is known to be partial to a party or two and this sensational villa is certainly built for entertaining. 

As well as accommodating a huge number of guests, there are plenty of sociable spots in which to hang out, from the circular infinity pool and surrounding loungers to the outdoor kitchen area nicknamed 'the restaurant' by the host — deservedly so given the bar, barbecue and curved seating. A Sonos speaker system will have everyone up on their feet, too.

The home is equally impressive behind the boxy walls. There's a bright and airy feel thanks to the plentiful windows, pure white walls and minimalist approach to decor. Snoop around, however, and you'll find some cosy subterranean nooks and crannies that embrace exposed stone walls. 

The surrounding area of Agios Lazaros is one of the more luxurious corners of Mykonos, with plenty of exclusive restaurants, beach clubs and sandy spots ready and waiting to be discovered — Psarou Beach takes less than ten minutes to reach by car, for example.

Party Invitation

Gazing out over the Aegean Sea and just up from a beach, this idyllic home caught our eye with its stunning outdoor spaces, great for catching some sun or enjoying the heat from the shade. With four double bedrooms (all featuring sea views) for six guests, you'll have flexible sleeping arrangements, ideal if you're travelling with kids or groups of friends. You may have neighbours here, but you should hardly notice – no areas are shared communally, so that gorgeous pool is all yours. While you are a little far from the action, as you might expect, the nearest restaurant is less than a mile away – and we think the seclusion only adds to the charm. 

Between Rock & A Blue Place

This villa sits in a complex of luxurious villas in Isterni, just 4 kilometres from Naousa. Here, you can enjoy a tranquil break while being within easy reach of the town’s nightlife and the port. Tsoukalakia beach is 2 kilometres away, and Ambelas beach is a short drive. The villa boasts its own private pool and a lovely terrace with views. There’s a shaded dining area and a barbecue, ideal for those lazy days in the sunshine.

Each ground-floor bedroom features stunning views of Sikinos, Antiparos, and Folegandros, as well as a south-facing patio area outside the bedroom.

The nearby beach is just a fifteen-minute walk away, perfect for those lazy days by the water. If you head out for the day, make sure to bring back some halloumi and ingredients for souvlaki to grill on the BBQ.
