We're particularly fond of the Persian-style rugs scattered across the rooms, adding a homely and bohemian flair.

The picturesque port of Loutraki is just a fifteen-minute walk away. Watch fishing boats come and go as you sip coffee at a waterfront taverna. If you're up for a drive, Skopelos town is forty minutes away – pass through luscious landscapes on your way, peppered with red-roofed buildings and traditional churches. When you arrive, meander through colourful narrow streets lined with craft shops and tavernas, overlooking the azure-hued Aegean sea.

A Song to Sing

In the warm waters of the Aegean sea, Alonissos plays host to gorgeous beaches, ancient historical sites, and the vibrant port town of Patitiri. From here, you could board a catamaran to start an island-hopping tour of the Aegean, or you could take an eleven-minute drive to this utterly blissful villa.

Isolated from urban areas, this home really plays into the charming serenity of its surroundings.  Set over two floors, this bright white villa looks traditional from the outside. Sandwiched between blue skies above and the blue waters of your private freshwater pool below, the exterior colour scheme might remind you of a certain national flag. This Greek theme continues with olive trees and a welcome basket full of local wine and fresh fruits. Pour a glass to sip as you explore the grounds, passing below the shaded dining terrace and into the minimalist interiors.

Wooden ceilings with white painted beams mix traditional architecture with a fresh, modern colour scheme. This continues throughout the kitchen, living spaces, and upstairs into the elegant bedrooms. With open ensuites and views of leafy trees, you’ll love relaxing in these zen-like spaces after a long day out in the sun.

You'll also be well located for explorations along the coast of Pelion – the nearest beaches and amenities are just a short drive away.

The Fresh Light

Standing on the terrace of this lovely home, it’s difficult to look away from the view. The Aegean Sea sparkles in the sunlight, with neighbouring islands the only interruption to the seascape. This villa sits on a verdant hillside in sunny Skiathos and it’s an all-round winner. 

One glimpse at the outside area and it’s easy to see how you’ll spend your stay. Plunge into the pool first thing, then sit with a coffee and breakfast under the veranda. The views really are captivating, so don’t expect to be able to get much heavy reading done – we constantly found our gaze being pulled towards the sea. 

There are two beaches – Megali Ammos and Vassilias – within six minutes of the villa. We liked to stroll along mid-morning, which gave us the perfect excuse to shelter from the hottest sun in a taverna, sampling local seafood and crisp white wine for lunch. 

The town centre and its shops, bars and restaurants are just ten minutes away by car. History buffs in your group might like to drive eighteen minutes to Skiathos Castle. This medieval site is now a ruin but was once a key settlement on the island – the stone ruins look especially dramatic on the rugged coastline and the views are magnificent.

Expect terracotta floors, light wood, white-washed walls and supremely comfortable beds that guarantee a blissful sleep night after night. Outside, there’s a sea-facing veranda that makes for a perfect sunbathing spot and a dining set-up for home-cooked dinners that last well into the evening. 

Mornings begin with a leisurely swim in the pool before reclining in the chill-out area with an iced coffee. When the temperature starts to rise, grab your beach essentials and stroll for 600 metres to Paralia Vasilias and watch the day slip away from a lounger. If you’re keen to do a little exploring, jump in the car and take the ten-minute drive into the heart of Skiathos town for a wander through the atmospheric streets and a bite to eat by the windless bay.

Situated within a verdant six-acre olive grove (shared with three villas), this home has a wonderful setting. There’s a private terrace with a pool with the most amazing views over the sea. Inside, the traditional interiors here create a homely atmosphere. One thing to mention – the twin bedroom is on a mezzanine above the living space. Located in the South Pelion area of Greece, there’s plenty to explore. The village of Pinakates is worth a look, with its stone chapels and cobbled streets.
