The atmosphere is homey and warm – we're particularly fond of the exposed stone walls, crackling fireplace and bright blue door and window frames. But most of all, we're swooning over the outside space. Oodles of terraces and balconies show off the exquisite sea view – just stretch out on a lounge chair, pour yourself a glass of wine, and bask in the tranquil Aegean scenery.

If you can pull yourself away from the panoramas, Tinos Town (known as Chora to the locals) is just a thirteen-minute drive away. As it’s the capital of the island, you'll find a myriad of restaurants, bars, shops and galleries to tickle your fancy. For a beach day, Paralia Lichnaftia is a ten-minute drive, although there are plenty more sandy shores to visit along the coast. You can even enjoy a day trip to Mykonos – it's about half an hour away on the ferry.

For a modern escape to Greece, this villa is an excellent choice. It can be found just outside of Tinos town – a ten-minute walk is all it takes to reach the many bars, restaurants and shops of this lively hub. The well-loved beach at Agios Fokas is 500 metres away, so if you want to while away your stay on white sands, you can do so very easily indeed. 

You needn’t leave the villa for a dip though, as you’ll have your own private pool. Dive in first thing in the morning, and spend your days alternating between soaking up the gorgeous Greek sun and cooling off in the refreshing water. The villa looks out over the sea, with views stretching as far as Mykonos – this really is a lovely spot. When you need some shade, you can retire to the small patio or head inside. 

The villa is stylish and chic, with everything you might need for a beach break. The petite kitchen is ideal for whipping up a snack or mixing cocktails – if you’re anything like us, pre-dinner cocktails as you watch the sun set are a must for a holiday. The communal pool terrace serves as a potential social spot for solo adventurers, though it's a sunny place for everyone to unwind. Agios Fokas Beach and its cafe-dotted promenade sit within walking distance. But a short drive away is the island's namesake town of Tinos, which holds a working port, hiking trails, and an archeology museum.

With a focus on combining natural elements with forward-thinking design, this modern home might be compact, but you know what they say about small packages. Only a few minutes away on foot, you can choose to spend the day on the tree-lined, Agali beach or visit it daily to take a sunset stroll before popping in at the nearest restaurant for dinner. Of course, if it’s exploring you want, you can also visit the Archeological Museum of Tinos or the Museum of Marble Crafts.

The two main villas both benefit from stark white walls, homely wooden furnishings and stylish lighting, while there's also a balcony from which you can survey Cycladic countryside. By contrast, the guesthouse has a darker, more intimate atmosphere thanks to the exposed brickwork and stone tiles.

These individual units offer a degree of flexibility for visitors wanting privacy, but they all share the outdoor space, which is dominated by a swimming pool ideal for cooling off in the middle of the afternoon. Later on, the barbecue is sure to be a-calling. 

The surrounding village of Pyrgos has a pair of museums, some impressive Greek Orthodox churches and a handful of restaurants. Vathi Beach sits just over ten minutes away in the car, while the island's main town and its extravagant architecture is a half-hour drive away.

This alluring villa is the perfect marriage of Cycladic charm and modern living. Sunlight spills into the sleek living area, which is minimal, chic and styled with woven baskets and marble floors. It all feels very natural and cool – in fact, the design is inspired by the wild Tinos scenery outside – but with a fully-equipped kitchen, air conditioning and fast wifi, you certainly won't lack contemporary comforts.

When you fancy venturing out (not that we'd blame you if you'd rather stay home), the village of Pyrgos is less than a ten-minute drive. Vathi Beach's rocky shores are perfect for swimming – it's about fifteen minutes on foot – and the vibrant town of Tinos is drivable in thirty-five if you want to pick up the pace. Airport transfer, daily cleaning and breakfast are all included with your stay – sounds like a perfect holiday to us.

Between the beach and the beautiful village of Pyrgos on Tinos, this villa has some of the best views on the island. Here, you’re perched above the Aegean Sea, a ten-minute walk from the soft sand of Vathi Beach. Make the three kilometre drive to Pyrgos, a hilltop village in striking blue and white said to be one of the prettiest in the Cyclades. 

Arriving at the villa, the first thing that took our breath away was the view from the infinity-edge swimming pool. The pool juts out over the hillside, with the sparkling ocean stretching before you and the hazy silhouette of Mykonos sitting on the horizon. Rustic-style stone patios are home to loungers, bean bag chairs and floor cushions for a bit of boho chill. Dining can be taken on the patio, shaded by a pergola and with a stunning sea view. 

Inside, a medley of fawn, honey and driftwood-coloured soft furnishings continue the boho vibe. Crisp white walls whisper of Cycladic tradition and floor-to-ceiling glass doors give you that sea view, even when you’re doing the dishes in the sleek, white kitchen.
