Like a scene from a postcard, the views from this waterfront villa are pretty spectacular. We could easily spend all day on the terrace, drinking wine in the sun and watching the boats bob in the harbour as the tide rises and falls. Don't even get us started on the Aegean sea sunsets – they're downright magical, and you'll have a front-row seat. 

A former mayor's residence, this home was built in 1850 and has oodles of character inside – think beams on the high ceilings and shutters on the windows. Yet every room is bright, crisp and super sleek, thanks to the minimal decorations and white colour scheme. The design is pared-back on purpose so you can focus on the scenery, but don't let that fool you. It still has all the mod-cons and upgrades you'll want on holiday, including Molton Brown toiletries, Netflix access, flexible housekeeping, an on-call concierge, and the option for private chefs and yacht charters.

And the location is fabulous, too. Whether you crave a night on the town, afternoon brunch or a leisurely morning stroll, this is undoubtedly the best spot on the island – mere minutes from the beach, museums and Mykonos' pretty cobbled lanes lined with boutiques and eateries. It can't get much sweeter than that.

Aegean Twilight

With sprays of magenta bougainvillaea, unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea and stylishly rustic interiors, this peaceful villa is just the ticket for those wanting to escape the bustle of everyday life. You’ll feel instantly at ease in the living space with its exposed stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings and collection of modern and antique furnishings – it was our favourite place to switch off and relax. Keen cooks will find everything they need in the fully-equipped kitchen for rustling up tasty dinners but if you’d prefer to take the night off, call upon your fantastic host to arrange for a private chef to treat you and your loved ones.

Start your mornings with a coffee overlooking the glittering bay before plunging into the pool and swimming a couple of leisurely laps. In the afternoon, strap on your sandals and wander down to Platis Gialos Beach, just twelve minutes from your doorstep, and stretch out on the soft sands. Should you fancy exploring a little further afield, the charming town of Apollonia is a fifteen-minute drive away.

Magenta Bloom

Sleek and sophisticated, this Tinos villa is perched on a hilltop, overlooking the Aegean Sea. Up here, it feels as though you’re suspended between sea and rock. It’s a ten-minute walk to the beach at Vathi where a tiny fishing hamlet is perched by the crystalline water. Heading inland, it’s a seven-minute drive (or forty-minute walk) to the village of Pyrgos, whose blue and white buildings have earned it a reputation of being one of the prettiest in the Cyclades.

The villa’s terrace has been designed to make the most of that stunning sea view. Loungers line an infinity-edge pool, overlooking the Aegean below. Plush outdoor sofas create outdoor lounges and you can dine as a group on the raised, covered terrace with a view of hazy islands floating on the horizon. Snatch a moment of pure peace up on the first-floor balcony.

The open-plan living area embraces Cycladic architecture with pristine white walls and stone archways keeping things bright and breezy. You’ll find notes of sea and sky in the blue artworks on the walls, and a decidedly bohemian feel to fawn, sand and driftwood-coloured throws and cushions on plush sofas. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open up to the terrace and let that beautiful sea view inside. Bedrooms are bathed in natural light and open up onto private balconies or straight onto the pool terrace.  

Sunshine Sugar High

Ideal for a romantic getaway, this suite-style villa offers a slice of Greek paradise with endless views over the Aegean Sea. Though compact and lacking a full-size kitchen, the modern boho interiors are whitewashed and cool, while outside, a private pool with breathtaking vistas waits to ease you into holiday bliss. The patio area is equipped with an alfresco dining set – perfect for enjoying the breakfast provided – while the shared grounds offer plenty of nooks from which to enjoy the fiery sunset each morning. When you’re ready to head out for some exploring, Vathi Beach is a ten-minute walk away, while the beautiful village of Pyrgos is 3 kilometres from home.


Villa of the Sun

This stunning Cycladic villa on the Aegean Sea offers more than just a luxurious stay. Wake up each morning to panoramic views of the turquoise sea and nearby islands. Relax on the sun beds by your private infinity pool or cook up an array of Greek dishes on the barbeque. Inside, the living and dining area provide uninterrupted sea views, while the fully equipped kitchen is perfect for whipping up meals with local ingredients. The designs are on the simpler side, though with three bedrooms accommodating up to seven guests (speak to your host for a seventh bed) and a daily housekeeping service, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ready for the beach? Hop in the car to Piso Aliki or Voutakos – both are a short drive away.

Shoreside Mirage

Barefoot luxury awaits at this newly built villa set just a hop, skip and jump from the paradisal shores of Mikri Vigla Beach. Inside, it’s a crisp, pared-back affair, with each bedroom as light-filled and spacious as the next. But we think you’ll spend most of your time alfresco, drinking in those knockout sea and mountain vistas from the lengthy private pool. Ready to embrace island life? Mikri Vigla village, with its seafront tavernas and bakeries, is a short stroll away along the seafront. After a little more bustle? The history-rich streets of Naxos Town are just a nine-kilometre drive away.

Cycladic Oasis

This home is all about the location. Placing you right in the heart of Tinos, it’s just a five-minute stroll to Agios Fokas beach, with plenty of traditional tavernas and shops within easy walking distance. Much like a hotel room, it serves as a great space to rest your head during a coastal getaway. The wifi works well, the mood is calm and the little balcony provides a great spot for sunset drinks.

Sandstone Sea 

When you set your eyes on this villa, you’ll know you’re somewhere special – its white exterior creates a powerful juxtaposition to the grey brick walls that flank it. The chic interior's neutral colours, wood furniture and copious amounts of decorative ceramics make a calming base to retreat to after a day of exploring.

You and your guests will relish breaking bread in the outdoor dining area, overlooking incredible views of the nearby waters, before heading over to the sofas for a cocktail or glass of ouzo. During the day, the history buffs will want to head over to the Castle of Antiparos, while those less-inclined head off to take a dip in the Aegean Sea at one of the island’s many beaches.

Brick & Modern

Between the beach and the beautiful village of Pyrgos on Tinos, this villa has some of the best views on the island. Here, you’re perched above the Aegean Sea, a ten-minute walk from the soft sand of Vathi Beach. Make the three kilometre drive to Pyrgos, a hilltop village in striking blue and white said to be one of the prettiest in the Cyclades. 

Arriving at the villa, the first thing that took our breath away was the view from the infinity-edge swimming pool. The pool juts out over the hillside, with the sparkling ocean stretching before you and the hazy silhouette of Mykonos sitting on the horizon. Rustic-style stone patios are home to loungers, bean bag chairs and floor cushions for a bit of boho chill. Dining can be taken on the patio, shaded by a pergola and with a stunning sea view. 

Inside, a medley of fawn, honey and driftwood-coloured soft furnishings continue the boho vibe. Crisp white walls whisper of Cycladic tradition and floor-to-ceiling glass doors give you that sea view, even when you’re doing the dishes in the sleek, white kitchen. Both bedrooms open up onto the pool terrace so you can wake up to that fantastic view and step straight to a sunlounger. 

Infinity's Edge

Tuck into complimentary breakfasts while admiring sea views stretching to other islands. Ideal for honeymooners, this villa's open-plan layout has a partial wall separating the living space from the bedroom, where cosy comforts, including bathrobes and slippers, are provided. The jacuzzi and sun loungers will tempt you to stay in, though the terrace is slightly overlooked in certain spots. Vathi Beach is within walking distance, but Pyrgos is named the prettiest village in the Cyclades, only three kilometres from here.

The Greek Olive

A frequent feature in interior design magazines, this one-of-a-kind villa merges classic Cycladic architecture with all the must-haves for modern living. White-washed walls, custom-made furniture and looping stone arches give this whole place a serene, almost sculpture-like aesthetic, and with the Aegean Sea stretched out before you, the picture-perfect backdrop only adds to the dreamy feeling.  

As much as we love the interior, our favourite spot is by far the two outdoor spaces. Greet the day with a cup of coffee on the balcony upstairs, watching as the sun slowly rises over the ocean. Then, while away balmy afternoons in the infinity pool (complete with jacuzzi and resistance swimming jets), or just sprawl out on one of the lounge chairs with a cocktail in hand. Come dinnertime, prepare a mouth-watering alfresco feast using the built-in barbecue and outdoor wood-fired oven, digging into your fare around the expansive table. And you won't want to miss the sunsets, either. Pull up a seat, pour yourself a glass of wine and get ready to be dazzled by the purple-painted horizon. 

The island of Paros is begging to be explored if you can drag yourself away from this private paradise. Parikia, the capital, is only a seven-minute drive – head there for eateries, cultural landmarks and cobbled alleys lined with pretty white houses and flowered balconies. Sandy, picturesque beaches are a dime a dozen here and are all easily reached by car – including Krios, Marcelo and Livadia, just five minutes away.

Amethyst Bliss

Traditional Cycladic charm meets modern luxury at this estate on Mykonos. Composed of the main villa and two additional guest houses, it's ideal for large groups who are seeking a heavenly escape on one of Greece's most popular islands.

The interiors reflect the natural beauty outside, with soothing tones, exposed stone, and organic textures all around. There's plenty of space for every guest to find a little peace and quiet here – you might choose to relax on the balcony and admire the views across the water, or book a massage in the spa room. The sparking swimming pool is surrounded by Greek columns, making it an impressive spot for a dip, and when you get thirsty you can whip up a cocktail at the poolside bar. 

The sea is just two kilometres away, where you'll find Ornos Beach, one of the most popular on the island. You can easily spend a day luxuriating on a lounger and paddling in the crystal clear water, before visiting one of the prestigious beach clubs for dinner and drinks. Plus, Mykonos Town is just five kilometers away – wander through the charming streets soaking up the atmosphere, or book in at one of the top restaurants for a lavish feast. The choice is yours.
