Located near the village of Galaro, at the heart of Zakynthos, you’ll be perfectly placed to explore the island. And if you’d like help deciding what to do, your host can arrange a variety of activities including excursions, watersports and bike tours. It’s worth noting that at full occupancy five guests will be sleeping on sofa beds, some of which are located in bedrooms where other guests will also be sleeping, so this layout might not work for everyone.

The Villa Verde Bliss

Surrounded by vineyards, this home ticks the box on tranquillity, but just because it’s secluded doesn’t mean it's boring. You’ll find the town centre and its buzzing nightlife only a short drive away, and you can spend the next day rehydrating in the shade of a beach umbrella on Tsilivi. Or, if it’s caffeine you need, take a short stroll to one of several coffee shops and bakeries nearby. Although spacious enough, the house isn’t large, so when you need a little extra breathing room, venture into the garden or open the bifold doors separating the living room from the swimming pool for fresh air. 

It's in the Vineyards

On the island of Zakynthos, this luxurious villa is just 500 meters from Tragaki's centre. The garden enjoys some truly beautiful sea views, with space to relax and stay active on the sun loungers and in the private pool, which is open in the summer months. We think this home is particularly suited to families – your host can provide a free cot here on request, and a twice-weekly cleaning service ensures you can focus on relaxing and making memories. You'll definitely want a car here to make the most of your trip and reach nearby attractions like Tsilivi Waterpark, the Port of Zakynthos, and Alykes Beach.

The Ocean's Way

Surrounded by vineyards and century-old olive groves, this wonderfully unique home is a tranquil destination that’s right on Zakynthos’ doorstep. 

Make the drive to Zante's town centre in a matter of minutes and spend days at Laganas Beach, or take a boat trip out to sea. Visit the unique Agios Sostis harbour and eat at a local taverna – if you manage to leave the comfort of this distinctive home behind. 

Designed with pleasing arching doorways and windows, and with walls of patchwork stone, this home is a beauty to behold. Though traditional in style, this home's modern furnishings go a long way in making it feel bright and fresh. 

Bookworms will likely find a seat right under a window best for reading, but poolside in one of the sun loungers is an equally good spot. Lounge by the pool until lunch when everyone can gather around for an alfresco meal. Take a walk around the sprawling garden and come back to enjoy drinks on the terrace at sunset. 

Bask in the quiet and sunshine outside from the balcony or the terrace. When the day draws to a close, round off your day with a luxurious soak in the clawfoot tub.

Ode to Hephaestus

Surrounded by fruit trees and olive groves, days at this villa are meant to be spent outside in the sunshine. Whether you prefer a morning swim or a midnight dip under the stars, the pool is the perfect place to cool off and relax. Enjoy an afternoon stroll through the grounds, collecting fresh eggs for breakfast, picking vegetables from the garden and taking the kids to meet the animals on the seasonal hobby farm. Come dinnertime, fire up the barbecue grill, open a bottle of wine and eat outside on the terrace. The views alone are worth staying for – Zakynthos town, the cliffs at Chrystal beach and the small island of Pelouz are all visible from the balcony – but the cosy living space, comfortable bedrooms and fully-stocked kitchen make staying here a breeze.

When you crave a seaside day, hop in the car and drive ten minutes to Laganas Beach or for a daytime excursion, rent a boat and visit the caves on Marathonisi Island. Lively Zante Town is only fifteen minutes by car if you're in the mood for nightclubs, gourmet eateries and sightseeing – although there are plenty of tavernas and beachfront restaurants nearby if you're not up for a drive.

Where Soul & Spirit Fly

When holidaying on one of the Greek islands, it's tempting to find a home as close as possible to the sea, but there's a lot to be said for settling on somewhere in the mountainous interior instead. When you experience the peace and tranquillity that surrounds this villa in the heart of Zakynthos, you'll see what we mean.

Surrounded by woodland and verdant hillsides, you'll find it easy to completely switch off and relax at this address, with long days in the sunshine sure to be packed with paddling in the pool, sunbathing on the loungers and whipping up dinner on the barbecue. The balconies are a prime spot for catching the sunset, too.

The home itself is generously sized with heaps of natural light coming in through the windows. We have to concede that it's not the most modern when it comes to interior design, with some parts looking a little dated. However, aesthetics aside, there are a few amenities that will help you feel at home, including the corner bathtub and fireplace in the living room.

Although you could enjoy a relaxing stay without leaving the address, there are some attractions to explore not too far away. The nearest village, for instance, is Vougiato only a kilometre away, while Laganas Beach is 9k away. The island's main town is a similar distance, too.







In a Perfect World

Consider waking up to the warm sun on your face, the scent of fresh flora, and views of undulating luscious greenery. This villa is paradise and more. Nestled in the herbaceous Agios Sostis landscape, this home overlooking Lagana Bay is an idyllic retreat for a family or group of friends seeking a quintessential Zakynthos experience.

Inside, a modestly traditional and thoughtfully modern interior awaits. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow the Ionian Ocean light to flood into the traditional-beamed space and neutral tones reflect the calm island disposition. It’s easy to pass the time lost in your new summer read on the plush sofas or lounging in your poolside hammock, breathing in the salt-perfumed breeze. 

We’re sure you will be wanting to spend most of your time soaking in the sun on your sand-blasted terrace, but if you can pull yourself away, head to Agios Sostis Harbour. Here, you can cross the sea-grazing path to reach the crystalline waters of Cameo Island – it's a picture of paradise.

Come sunset, you’ll want to be nestled around the outdoor dining table, enjoying a grilled barbecue dinner of octopus and a crisp glass of local Verdea wine.

Homer's Acropolis

For those who appreciate traditional charm, and who want to stay in a more authentic village setting, this comfortable home is spacious, stone-clad and ever-so private. Surrounded by olive groves and farmland, it's tucked away in the village of Vanato and feels far from the busy resorts – yet it's just 3km from Zakynthos Town and the long sandy beaches of Tsilivi. 

All arranged on the ground floor, this place is full of character – we love the fireplace, the vaulted timber ceilings and the numerous patio doors that allow most of the rooms to open out to the garden. There's a modern, fully kitted-out kitchen, a built-in barbecue outside and tables both indoors and out. And the master bedroom is a real treat, with its vast space easily fitting not one but two king-size beds pushed together for the ultimate luxury. Step outside and your flat lawns are perfect for kids to play on, with a private pool, sun loungers and plenty of privacy thanks to walls and screen hedges. 



The Wife of Merops

This villa is a really special home. It can be found in Machairado village – an almost untouched part of Zakynthos at the heart of the island. The home is on a vast plot of land, tucked away amid acres of lush greenery so if peace and quiet are what you’re craving, you’re in luck. 

You could easily spend your whole stay on the property, with your every need catered for. Hire a private chef and enjoy your meals at any one of the many dining areas in the grounds – we’re particularly fond of the tables on the covered terrace, where you can shelter from the midday sun and still enjoy the views all the way to the mountains. A huge brick barbecue sits alongside its own bar area to the side of the pool, the perfect setting for celebrations. 

The heart-shaped pool takes pride of place at the centre of the outside space. The hydro-massage jets mean it’s a hub of relaxation. After a morning spent floating and feeling your worries melt away, head to the tennis court. There’s also table tennis, a basketball hoop and billiards, so nobody is likely to feel bored. 

If you do feel the urge to explore beyond the gates, you can be in Zakynthos town in just fifteen minutes. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and activity, and you can be back in time to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. 


Heart of Zakynthos

Nestled in a valley of vineyards and olive groves, this tranquil country house estate, just a ten-minute drive away from Tsilivi Beach, offers an authentic taste of Zakynthos. It is set in the historic village of Agios Kyrykos, which boasts strong ties to some of the island's best wineries. The estate itself also has an impressive wine heritage, having harvested one of the most popular grape varieties within the region for the best part of two centuries. We recommend popping by the village for a bottle of the good stuff, best enjoyed perched by the pool at sunset, glass in hand, gazing out to the fruit trees kissing the horizon. 

Though reminiscent of classic manor houses, the villa is newly-built, offering modern interiors with enough space to accommodate eight guests. In the lounge, floor-to-ceiling doors open up to the glorious sundeck, which offers a pool and hydro-massage, as well as a barbecue and a large dining table – perfect for alfresco dining. Perhaps the star of the show, though, is the home's heavenly views of the natural landscape, spanning uninterrupted as far as the eye can see. 

Poet's Vineyard

Stylish and spacious, this home is ideal for large groups. It’s in a peaceful setting close to Zakynthos Town, yet is tucked away amid vineyards so feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle. The outside space is centred around the seasonally-heated pool, with comfortable loungers around it and plenty of room for gathering together with pre-dinner cocktails – the fire pit is perfect. There’s an open-air spa for relaxing, and children can tire themselves out in their own play area. You’ll need a car to get around, but the beaches are only a short drive away.
