We recommend popping by the village for a bottle of the good stuff, best enjoyed perched by the pool at sunset, glass in hand, gazing out to the fruit trees kissing the horizon.

All arranged on the ground floor, this place is full of character – we love the fireplace, the vaulted timber ceilings and the numerous patio doors that allow most of the rooms to open out to the garden. There's a modern, fully kitted-out kitchen, a built-in barbecue outside and tables both indoors and out. And the master bedroom is a real treat, with its vast space easily fitting not one but two king-size beds pushed together for the ultimate luxury. This is not just a villa, this is a full-on retreat. You’ll find the town centre and its buzzing nightlife only a short drive away, and you can spend the next day rehydrating in the shade of a beach umbrella on Tsilivi. Or, if it’s caffeine you need, take a short stroll to one of several coffee shops and bakeries nearby. Although spacious enough, the house isn’t large, so when you need a little extra breathing room, venture into the garden or open the bifold doors separating the living room from the swimming pool for fresh air.

Get away from the every day with a stay at this stunning seaside home. Based on the island of Zante, close to the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos, you'll be within easy reach of plenty of vibrant bars and gorgeous restaurants when you stay here, while still being in a secluded spot where you can feel truly at peace.

You can spend the mornings enjoying a dip in your private outdoor pool while you wait for the sun to rise over the ocean in the distance. Cook up some breakfast sausages and bacon on your barbecue, and tuck in all together around your alfresco dining set. Head to the shared yoga pagoda to do some salutations to the sun. Grab your towel and head to the beach, which you can access directly via the stunning 'Priest's Cave', and enjoy sea-swimming and sunbathing.

Inside the home, you'll find exposed beams and brickwork that make the home feel characterful and quaint. We love the country kitchen where you can cook up Greek feasts, and the lovely lounge area complete with original fireplace.

This villa is a really special home. It can be found in Machairado village – an almost untouched part of Zakynthos at the heart of the island. The home is on a vast plot of land, tucked away amid acres of lush greenery so if peace and quiet are what you’re craving, you’re in luck. 

You could easily spend your whole stay on the property, with your every need catered for. Hire a private chef and enjoy your meals at any one of the many dining areas in the grounds – we’re particularly fond of the tables on the covered terrace, where you can shelter from the midday sun and still enjoy the views all the way to the mountains. A huge brick barbecue sits alongside its own bar area to the side of the pool, the perfect setting for celebrations. 

The heart-shaped pool takes pride of place at the centre of the outside space. The hydro-massage jets mean it’s a hub of relaxation. After a morning spent floating and feeling your worries melt away, head to the tennis court. There’s also table tennis, a basketball hoop and billiards, so nobody is likely to feel bored. 

If you do feel the urge to explore beyond the gates, you can be in Zakynthos town in just fifteen minutes. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and activity, and you can be back in time to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. 


Heart of Zakynthos

When holidaying on one of the Greek islands, it's tempting to find a home as close as possible to the sea, but there's a lot to be said for settling on somewhere in the mountainous interior instead. When you experience the peace and tranquillity that surrounds this villa in the heart of Zakynthos, you'll see what we mean.

Surrounded by woodland and verdant hillsides, you'll find it easy to completely switch off and relax at this address, with long days in the sunshine sure to be packed with paddling in the pool, sunbathing on the loungers and whipping up dinner on the barbecue. The balconies are a prime spot for catching the sunset, too.

The home itself is generously sized with heaps of natural light coming in through the windows. We have to concede that it's not the most modern when it comes to interior design, with some parts looking a little dated. However, aesthetics aside, there are a few amenities that will help you feel at home, including the corner bathtub and fireplace in the living room.

Although you could enjoy a relaxing stay without leaving the address, there are some attractions to explore not too far away. The nearest village, for instance, is Vougiato only a kilometre away, while Laganas Beach is 9k away. The island's main town is a similar distance, too.







In a Perfect World

With its olive groves, lemon trees, rolling hills and beautiful coastline, Zakyhthos is an island rich in natural beauty. And stepping inside this serene home brings you closer to the natural elements.

For a taste of bustling island life, the port city of Zakynthos is only an eight-minute drive away - here you’ll find a diverse selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Surrounded by the Ionian Sea, you're not exactly short of places to go swimming in Zakynthos, but a villa with a private pool is just too good an opportunity to pass — especially when it's among such beautiful surroundings as this. Overlooked by a rocky hill, we can envision many an afternoon of splashing about in its refreshing waters, drying off naturally on one of the loungers and repeating ad infinitum. When you want a break from the heat, retire to the covered balcony or sprawl out on the living room sofa and enjoy the breeze coming in from the open French door. It's very easy to do nothing but watch the days go by at a satisfyingly slow pace, but if you want a reminder of what the outside world looks like at any point, the seaside resorts of Alikes and Alikanas can be reached by car in under ten minutes.

With breathtaking views of the famous Marathonisi island (aptly named Turtle Island for its distinctive shape), refreshing interiors, and wealth of amenities, this villa offers an unforgettable experience! And, you can drive into Zakynthos Town in just over half an hour to admire the harbour and dine on the catch of the day in the waterfront tavernas.

Located in the village of Vanato, this beautiful villa is a dreamy place to spend your vacation. With a fabulous range of amenities, plenty of charm, and an excellent location just a short drive away from Zakynthos Town and the coast, you're sure to fall in love with this little patch of heaven. 

The bright and spacious living area, with its exposed stone walls and vaulted wooden ceiling, is the perfect blend of old and new. You'll love kicking back and relaxing in these serene surroundings, before slipping on your sandals and heading outside. Challenge your guests to a game of ping-pong or pool, before cooling off in the sparkling swimming pool. There are plenty of sun loungers where you can catch some rays, and the outdoor grill makes it easy to cook up an evening feast to enjoy on the patio. 

From here, you can take a short drive to the resort town of Tsilivi, where you'll find a blue flag beach and a selection of water sports to try. Lively Zakynthos Town is only 3km away, and offers a selection of seafood restaurants, chic bars, and pretty winding streets. And, for the best photographs, take the 2km drive up Bochali Hill, which gives you an incredible view across the town and the sea beyond.

This pretty stone villa overlooks the ocean on the idyllic island of Zakynthos. It’s a leisurely twenty-minute stroll to the beach at Kaminia or an easy four-minute drive. If you fancy a night on the town, Zakynthos Town buzzes to life after sunset and is just a ten-minute drive away.

Back at the villa you’ve got plenty to keep you occupied. Like the glittering swimming pool on the huge terrace looking out over the Aegean. Our favourite spot out here has to be the suspended day bed, swathed with curtains. You’ve also got a covered veranda for alfresco dining and a second terrace upstairs with a chi chi chaise longue if you want to live out your romance novel fantasies.

The interior feels grand yet rustic with exposed stone walls at every turn and an old stone fireplace in the living room. Tufted leather armchairs, mini chandeliers and hand-carved wardrobes add the decadence. The master suite is fairytale-esque with stone archways framing glowing candelabra and satin curtains cascading from the four-poster bed. We love the vintage design touches that complement wooden ceilings throughout – a rotary phone here, a steam-punk sink there. 

Island Romance

This home caught our eye with its impressive sea views and idyllic location. Nestled in private grounds – just 2.5 kilometres from the small port of Agios Nikolaos – this is the ideal spot for a refreshing coastal escape. There’s direct access to the sea, a private pool with hydro-massage and a perfectly positioned terrace. You will find lots of steps here so it may not be the best option for those with reduced mobility, but there’s plenty of space for groups and a range of extra services available during your stay – including local day trips and tours. 

Grecian Groove

This striking home is nestled in a sprawling estate of vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees. The idyllic setting, combined with a selection of excellent amenities, makes this villa a heavenly spot for a vacation with family and friends. 

There are plenty of traditional touches throughout the house, from the original paintings to the terracotta tiles and wrought-iron staircase. The interior is cool and calm – it's the perfect place to flop down with a book – while the outdoor space has plenty to keep you busy. Practice your serve on the tennis court, challenge your guests to a ping-pong match, or hop on one of the bicycles provided and explore the grounds. When the temperature rises you can make a splash in the pool, and your host can even arrange tastings of the olive oil and wine produced in the surrounding countryside. 

You could easily spend an eternity here, but if you fancy heading out and about then there's plenty to love about the local region. The sandy shoreline of Psarou Beach is just fifteen minutes away, where you can catch some rays and swim in the crystal clear water. And, with Zante Town the same distance away, there are several bars, restaurants, and boutiques to visit.

This seafront villa, located in northern Zakynthos, is perfect for those looking to unwind while enjoying views of Kefalonia. It was the outside space that caught our attention – we loved the infinity pool with a hydro-massage spot, dining terrace, and of course, the direct access to the beach. Relaxation continues inside, thanks to the steam room. Plus, flexible sleeping arrangements make this place ideal for any group travelling together. If you’re keen to explore, shops and restaurants are around 2.5 kilometres away

A Soul's Rest

Slip effortlessly into island living with a stay at this stunning villa. Located in Zakynthos, this hilltop home offers fabulous views, excellent amenities, and plenty of style – it's impossible not to love it. 

Although it was only built recently, this home is full of homages to traditional Greek architecture – think exposed stone walls and wooden ceilings. There's plenty of space for all your guests to kick back and relax between adventures, and some of the bedrooms even have balcony access so you can admire the sea view. Outside, you'll find a sparkling pool, a hot tub, and lots of seating – pick your favourite spot and soak up the sunshine.

Beautiful Madrakia Beach is less than a kilometre away, where you'll find crystal clear waters and a local taverna. You can also drive to the world-famous Blue Caves – these spectacular natural wonders are not to be missed. And, with plenty of hillside villages and hidden coves to explore, you won't run out of things to do here.

This home is pure indulgence. Experience breathtaking coastal views and luxurious wellness features in this villa, perched above the Ionian Sea.

The Mirrored Grotto

Located on the lush green island of Zakynthos – and with direct access to the sea – this unique villa is a great choice for a family getaway or holiday with friends. The home has been decorated in neutral tones and is spread across two levels with no lift access – so may not be suitable for individuals with reduced mobility. Guests are free to use the gym equipment and will benefit from a fully equipped kitchen area, as well as brick-built BBQ facilities for alfresco dining. We love the ocean views this villa offers, as well as the private infinity pool – complete with a hydromassage feature. We recommend hiring a car for your stay so you can explore the island with ease.

Thankfully, this home makes it pleasingly easy to admire this landscape. Slipping into the infinity pool with a built-in hydromassage area is one way of doing just that, but the surroundings are no less awe-inspiring from the home's terrace or alfresco dining area.

The home itself has been built in the traditional Zakythinian style, with stone walls, wooden ceiling beams and a fireplace in the living room. The galley kitchen has enough space to whip up a Mediterranean banquet, too.

One of the major perks that we should probably mention is that there's direct access to the sea via a stone path and you can borrow kayaks or snorkelling and fishing equipment, as well as binoculars, a telescope and gym equipment. The island's famous Blue Caves can be reached in ten minutes on foot, too.

With the famous Blue Caves just a twenty-three-minute walk away and Shipwreck Beach reachable within twenty-five minutes by car or boat, you'll be exploring the island in no time. If you're looking to escape the crowds, just follow the little stone path that takes you from the villa directly to the sea.
