Take your pick from multiple seating areas to gaze at the scenery, spend lazy afternoons on a lounger, cool off with refreshing swims and embrace the magic of the moment with dreamy sunset drinks – set to the sound of your favourite playlist (thanks to the Sonos sound system). 

For those in search of a little more adventure, wind your way down through the garden to the seafront, set sail on a boat trip, explore the nearby beaches or follow one of the surrounding hiking and cycle trails (bikes are provided). There’s a garage with games for family fun as well as fitness equipment for energising workouts. Inside, there’s plenty of space and all three of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms. Another major highlight is the fact that you can walk to the beach, while the nearest amenities are just a short drive away. 


The Island Artist

A stay in this home brings you endless sea views and a private infinity pool. You can spend slow days lounging on the terrace, cooking on the barbecue and savouring drinks as the sun goes down. There are more incredible views from the rooms and the main bedroom is a special highlight with a luxurious en-suite bathroom. And when you feel like adventuring further afield, it’s possible to walk to the nearest beach, restaurants, cafes and shops in Hvar. Plus, it’s a great base for exploring this beautiful stretch of coastline with Jelsa and Split both within driving distance.

Midnight Cove

Embrace the history is Hvar Town at this 17th-century villa. It was built in 1612, in old Venetian style during the baroque period – think intricately carved stone balconies and wooden shutters – and was owned by one of the oldest Italian families in Hvar. To this day, it’s protected by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.

It sits in the heart of Hvar Town, where the balustraded stone balconies look out over the buzzing old harbour. The waterfront is just a few footsteps away. On the private terrace, a swimming pool awaits in an old gothic-style house. Thanks to glass folding walls, the pool can be indoor or outdoor. The Mediterranean gardens are secluded by high stone walls and terraces are shaded by fig and citrus trees. Dotted around the gardens, you’ll find loungers, outdoor dining and bistro seating fringed with fragrant lavender bushes. 

Heading inside, there’s a private spa on the ground floor, complete with a massage room, hot tub and sauna. Gym equipment is available for those that want to keep on top of their fitness schedule. Upstairs, the big kitchen is a classic farmhouse style and there’s enough room for the group to dine in here. The living room is lined with bookshelves where you’ll find a selection of holiday reads, and we love the view from floor-to-ceiling windows. Bedrooms tucked at the top of the house are cosy, and the main bathroom with its free-standing tub feels fit for the Italian aristocracy that used to tread the halls of this historic home.
