Dating back a hundred years, this remarkable villa close to the south coastline of Split is a shining example of how a property's historical character can be preserved in the restoration process.

The home's interior retains an air of grandeur, with antique wooden furnishings, high ceilings and glossy tiled flooring, but there are plenty more modern additions. The bathrooms are ultra-sleek with a couple of large tubs and there's also a gym, sauna and library up on the first floor.

We'd be willing to bet that the swimming pool wasn't there when the home was built in the early twentieth century, but it'll be no less appreciated during the summer months — the same can be said for the Jacuzzi, too. One thing that hasn't changed in the intervening years is just how breathtaking the sea view is from this outdoor space and it makes for a beautiful backdrop as you dine under the pergola.

One thing we really love is the different options that the location offers. Plaža Ježinac sits just around the corner when you fancy a dip in the sea and the Old Town is only twenty minutes away on foot. The forests and walking routes of Marjan Hill are a ten-minute walk away, too.

One Hundred Percent

Ocean views and a heated indoor pool – it’s easy to see why this villa ticks all of our boxes. Spread over three floors, the space is bright and contemporary, with a terrace on every level, so you can pick your favourite perch to soak up panoramic vistas of the horizon and the pirate town of Omis. Nestled against the mountains, the location offers plenty to keep the whole family entertained – hiking and biking trails, a zipline across a canyon, and rafting on the river Cetina. And when you fancy a night on the town, Split is just 28 kilometres away.

Borak Bliss

No, you're not seeing triple. This villa perched on Ciovo Island actually boasts three separate living areas, kitchens and outside spaces. With one of each on every floor, it's a good fit for groups of friends or extended families wanting privacy. Although the contemporary design is a little understated, we think the sea views are pretty impressive, whether you're admiring them from the garden or the rooftop terrace. The swimming pool, meanwhile, is a welcome relief from the Croatian rays – as is the beach, just 5 metres from your doorstep. Even better, you'll have access to the resort's 24/7 gym as well as space to moor a boat – ideal for quick trips back and forth to Split.

The Sea's Three

Located in the coastal village of Župa, this villa puts you right in the heart of the beautiful Biokovo Nature Park. Because of the rural location, you’ll need a car to get around, but if you ask us it’s worth it to enjoy close proximity to many beautiful hiking trails. Dogs are welcome, so this is the perfect place to enjoy some walks and soak up your surroundings. At home, there are plenty of ways to relax and unwind thanks to the wellness area complete with a sauna and massage table, the outdoor pool and an alfresco dining terrace. When it comes to keeping the kids entertained, the putting green, tennis courts and basketball net should do the trick. 

The Green Season

Nestled on the hillside above Hvar Town, this modernist villa gazes out over terracotta rooftops to the sparkling Adriatic. You’ll be within strolling distance of the town’s restaurants, shops, and winding, traffic-free streets, with the turquoise sea just beyond. Back home, floor-to-ceiling doors on both levels blur the line between indoors and out, while the main bedroom opens directly onto a private balcony. The infinity pool and outdoor lounge sit in a lavender-scented garden – perfect for sunset cocktails. And when adventure calls, the historic town of Stari Grad is a short drive away, or you can charter a boat to uncover the hidden coves and lagoons of the enchanting Pakleni Islands.

Hvar Town Hideout

With unspoiled countryside, world-class beaches, and charming towns, you'd be hard-pushed to find anywhere in the world that comes close to rivalling the Dalmatian Coast. You’ll have first-hand knowledge of this breathtaking landscape after your stay at this spectacular mountain villa. Set in a lush botanical garden with hundreds of flowering plants and a pretty fishpond, you’ll be relaxing among some of the most dramatic scenery that Croatia has to offer. In our opinion, the views of the hills and countryside are best enjoyed from the waters of the high-tech swimming pool, with its programmable massage and counter-swimming options. You’ll be enchanted by the atmospheric alfresco dining and lounging areas, while your kids will love the playground with its trampoline, slides and swings. The peace is palpable, but if it gets too quiet, you can pipe music to the pool area via the speakers. The interior has its own remarkable views of the pool and garden, the sweep of which can be seen from the windows of the luxurious bedrooms and their traditional fixtures and furnishings. This old-world feeling is countered by the ultra-modern bathroom, while the arched windows allow plenty of natural light to flood in. You’ll be perfectly positioned to explore the ‘real Croatia’, with two villages, the Biokovo National Park and the Celina River, a short drive away – the latter is ideal for kayaking and taking a wild swim, while there are three mountain bikes at the house for exploring closer to home. The beach is nearby, too, though the countryside en route is very enticing. You’ll be able to plan visits to all these attractions without distraction from your piece of Adriatic Eden. 

Eden on the Adriatic

Nestled next to the Adriatic Sea in the charming fishing village of Bobovišća, this cool, contemporary villa will tick every one of your holiday boxes. Entering the home, you’re welcomed by a tranquil open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, with generous sliding doors that take you out to the first of many terrace areas and the infinity pool. From here, you'll get your first glimpse of the stunning bay views you’ll come to love. Neutral in decor with artwork to remind you of your coastal location, this is the true heart of the home.

Step outside and you’ll feel your holiday burst into life – the outdoor space here is the epitome of relaxation. Lounge poolside as you sip sundowners and watch the fishing boats sailing up and down the bay, or take a cooling dip in the infinity pool. Wander down the steps, taking in the beautiful white local stone of the terraced areas, and at the bottom of the garden there’s a hammock for you to enjoy a sneaky snooze, or you can head out of the gate, straight onto the private flat rock beach. If the sea views tempt you out of the villa, hop on one of the bicycles and you can head out to explore this picturesque village – it’ll quickly become somewhere you’re proud to call home, if only for a little while.

Hideaway on the Bay

With enticing views of the Adriatic, you can understand why this villa captured our attention. The best spot for waterfront gazing is the balcony – a glass of wine, optional – but even the kitchen window catches a glimpse of the rolling waves. That sure makes washing up all the more exciting. Sadly, the garden doesn't show off the vistas, but with a private pool, alfresco dining area and children's playground, you'll still be set to worship the Croatian rays. And while the interior isn't nearly as impressive as the panoramas, it's comfortable nonetheless – plus the location is spot-on, walking distance from Pisak beach and village, and only a thirty-minute drive from magical Makarska.
