Glass partition walls to the bedrooms (with internal curtains for privacy) mean that light can be used to best effect throughout the home, and the herringbone floors are a stylish choice. There’s even a small garden that gives you a private space to unwind at the end of the day. Located in the Old North, this area is filled with European influences, great bars, and plentiful restaurants. Jerusalem and the Dead Sea are both within around an hour's drive.

We don't know what we love more about this home – the incredible location or the dreamy rooftop terrace. We'll start at the terrace, a radiant spot that's adorned by comfy seating areas and looks out across the city. Whether you're sitting with a coffee in the morning or a glass of arak at sunset, it's the perfect spot for the whole group to gather. 

Wander down from the terrace and into a light and airy living space. A cute dining table connects the sofa and the kitchen – we suggest settling down here for bites of falafel and hummus before snuggling up on the sofa. 

Once you're well fed and rested, head out of the apartment and explore this sparkling city. Dizengoff Square, home of a sprawling shopping centre, is just five minutes away. On your way there, you'll pass copious cafes, coffee shops and authentic restaurants. 

Head in the other direction and you'll reach the golden sands of Gordon Beach in just a minute. Don't worry if you forget your towel or sunscreen, you can nip home and back in less than five minutes.

Located only two hundred metres away from the Mediterranea Sea, you certainly get a sense of this proximity to the ocean in this bright and airy apartment. Save for the boldly coloured pieces of artwork dotted about, the decor is dominated by a palette of washed-out neutrals, which are the perfect backdrop for the copious amounts of natural light that streams in through the glass doors in the living space. Slide open these very doors and you'll find a cute balcony at prime people-watching height. When you want to venture outside, you simply have to follow the street down for five minutes on foot to reach Frishman Beach and the same amount of time in the opposite direction gets you to Kikar Dizengoff and its impressive fountain.

This place had us on that charming balcony alone – and that was before we’d even seen the views at night as the lights of Tel Aviv begin to shine. Compared to the impressive main bedroom suite with balcony access, the second bedroom may feel a bit compact for some. But don’t let that put you off – there’s heaps of space to spill out in the newly refurbished living area. And you couldn’t dream up a better location. Vibey Metzitzim Beach, with knockout sunsets, and the port, with its bustling boardwalk, indoor market and happening night scene, are just a flip-flop away.

One for all you minimalists out there, sleek, white interiors are punctuated with contemporary art for a splash of colour, and pared-back bedrooms (set apart across the two levels) are as light-filled and pristine as they come. But the biggest draw for us has to be that enormous rooftop terrace. With a dining area for alfresco meals and loungers to drop and flop with sundowners, it’s your private oasis in the city. And if you’re impressed now, imagine the view at night when the lights of Tel Aviv begin to glimmer. 

When it’s time to explore, you’re less than a minute’s walk from Tel Aviv’s main promenade, Tayelet. Take a stroll along the boardwalk, then dive into the contemporary coastal restaurants and vibey beach bars.

We adore the sleekness of this home, from the fresh white walls that are enhanced by natural light to the pale blue sofa that reminds us of being near the sea – perfect for chilling on before venturing out and eating breakfast, chatting, and deciding where in the city to visit.

Situated on the renowned Frug street and only a seven-minute walk to Frishman Beach – bring your swimming gear and wander along the sand to pick the right position to relax for the day, having a dip in the water when you need a break from the heat. When the need to shop strikes, head to Dizengoff Shopping Mall before returning down Dizengoff Street for lunch at one of the many restaurants. Drive seventeen minutes to Old Jaffa, visiting the cobblestone streets lined with artisan shops and stopping at an art gallery to see the displays.

Inspired by the city's Bauhaus architecture, there's a strong industrial influence in this home’s interiors, particularly in the functional concrete ceiling tiles and rich-brown floors, but the crisp white walls, plush furnishings and luscious house plants bring the space into a contemporary realm. Unwind with a glass of arak in your sleek open-plan living space and soak up the vibrancy this location affords you.

The white sands of Frishman Beach take just eleven minutes to reach on foot, while the Beit Lessin Theatre and Bauhaus Center are easily walkable too. After admiring the architecture of your area, return home and prepare a Middle Eastern meze spread for your loved ones. While chatting around the glass dining table, you can plan the next day’s itinerary – perhaps to the old Hatachana train station that has been converted into a museum filled with eateries and boutiques.

Aside from this simple but effective colour scheme, there's a minimalist approach to furnishings and finishes – which will either be refreshing or a little unadventurous depending on your personal tastes. We're leaning towards the former camp, especially in the large kitchen complete with the sort of pristine surfaces that you almost don't want to sully by cooking. 

One of the home's biggest selling points, however, has to be the excellent location. From here, the golden sands of Gordon Beach take about seven minutes to reach on foot, while Dizengoff Street is three minutes' walk around the corner and offers a good choice of restaurants, plus cultural institutions such as the Bauhaus Center and the Beit Lessin Theatre.

This apartment overlooking Atarim Square is the perfect combination of sea, sun, and fun. It’s less than five minutes away from the beach, so you could be swimming in the Mediterranean in no time. Walk a little further to Hilton Beach – it's the premiere surf spot in the city, with shops nearby where you can get kitted out. Although the flat is found in an old building, the home itself is modern and sleek – we particularly liked the kitchen. That said, we can see it not getting as much use as it deserves, as there are plenty of restaurants nearby for all you food fans out there. After you've eaten your fill, there are several lively bars in the area where you can continue the party. Despite all that, the apartment itself is tranquil at night, so you can look forward to an uninterrupted night's sleep in the comfortable beds.

There’s no getting around the fact that the views of the glistening Mediterranean take centre stage at this seafront apartment, looking out over Tel Aviv’s famous Mezizim beach. Step out onto the large terrace and you can hear the waves crashing into shore – it’s a beautiful place to end each day as the sun sets on the horizon. If you can ever part from that view, you’ll find a home of sophisticated, modern interiors awash with white, which invigorate the space and inspire you to slow down. When it’s time to explore more of this city, head south along the seafront promenade to Jaffa Port, one of the oldest known harbours in the world. Grab some lunch and hang out with the hipsters, before hopping on one of the city’s rental bikes to make it back home in time for that priceless sunset. The designer shops of Dizengoff Street are a five-minute stroll away and the surrounding streets are filled with upscale bars and Mediterranean restaurants. Head to the lively nightlife hub of the Old Port, a fifteen-minute walk away, and the beach is just a ten-minute stroll. 

The apartment itself is styled in marble effect and concrete sleekness with sunlight streaming in through warehouse-style windows above the kitchen. Pops of lipstick red come courtesy of sofa cushions and raw wood accents add some warmth. Our favourite thing about this spot has to be the bedroom, with its wall of glass opening up over the leafy-green street below.

Minimalist and sleek, the place is filled with natural light flooding in through the large windows. The open-plan living and dining area offers plenty of room for relaxing after a day of dashing about town, and you’ll also have your own private balcony, perfect for enjoying a cool drink and the surrounding vistas. 

You’ll be able to rustle up quick and delicious meals in the modern kitchenette, although we also recommend trying some of the excellent restaurants in the area. 

Yehuda Shores

Located in Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Street area, just off Old North neighbourhood, where fine-dining bistros, sea-facing bars and sandy beaches all contend for your attention, this beautifully appointed apartment is right in the heart of the action. 

Crisp white walls and contemporary furnishings are par for the course these days in thriving Tel Aviv, but the vibrant artwork and stylish casement windows add a real visual statement to this modern home. Light and airy, natural light floods in throughout the day, bouncing off the wood floors and creating a relaxing spot to unwind after a busy afternoon exploring the city. 

But as much as we love the interiors, our favourite thing about this apartment is the shared deck terrace, complete with sun loungers, outdoor dining furniture and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. We can think of no better place to hang out with friends and family than out here, soaking up the sun and drinking cocktails. 

If you can peel yourself away from the deck, it's just a five-minute stroll to Gordon's Beach and a ten-minute walk to Frishman Beach for leisurely days full of sand, sea and surf. You'll also find local markets, shops and cafes along the famous Ben Gurion Boulevard, no more than three minutes away on foot.

What Page One lacks in character, it makes up for with its wonderful location. It’s right by Hilton Beach (one of Tel Aviv’s most popular), as well as the Marina of Tel Aviv, the perfect spot for sunset-watching and post-beach dinners. The home itself is on the more basic side – and it sadly doesn’t get a lot of natural light either. We did, however, enjoy the living room because it sets the scene for a cosy night in.

This apartment is the epitome of minimalism on the Mediterranean coast, just a short walk from the golden sands and shallow waters of Frishman Beach. Located so centrally, you can immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant and historied culture within moments of leaving your calm base.

Inside you’ll find a light-filled contemporary interior and a sociable open-plan living space. Round grey-hued coffee tables, sleek tiled floors, and a large wooden table accompanied by Kartell Masters-inspired chairs – nothing in this Tel Aviv home is quite ordinary, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Natural light – and a glimpse of the trees outside – streams through huge windows into the vast open space. The plump L-shaped sofa invites you to sit back and unwind with your loved ones after a day of sampling local flavours in the vibrant eateries and browsing the artisanal works in Nahalat Binyamin. 

We love how well positioned this apartment is – take yourself on a tour of the Carmel Market and treat yourself to a flavourful array of local delicacies. If you’re here to embrace the city’s cultural sights, you’re a short walk from the Bauhaus Center. 

Mediterranean Minimalism

This ground-floor apartment in Tel Aviv’s Old North is a warm and welcoming home-from-home. The light-filled home has a pretty, muted colour scheme that makes it a tranquil base – and it’s in a quiet part of town so you can really relax here. Leave the comfortable apartment and find leafy boulevards lined with independent shops and cafes. You’ll be just a few steps from Dizengoff Street, too. If you’re in town for business, you can catch up on work from the dining table.

We love the private balcony – it's the perfect spot to nibble on hummus, sip a refreshing glass of Israeli mint lemonade and watch the sunset. Inside is just as comfortable, whether you're rustling up dinner or burrowing down in the cosy beds. Business travellers can hunker down at the desk in the main bedroom and catch up on work – although, with so much to see and do nearby, we don't blame you if you'd rather switch off.
