Although this home is situated on an estate, just a ten-minute walk from communal amenities, including restaurants, bars and a spa, guests staying here have their own garden and infinity swimming pool with a hot tub. Daily housekeeping means you won’t have to lift a finger and if you’d like a professional to take care of mealtimes, a private chef service can be arranged. Should you fancy a change of scenery, Bologna is reached in around twenty minutes by car, while Modena is reached in about an hour.

It's situated on a private country estate in the charming village of Lamporecchio, Tuscany, and has well-tended secret gardens, as well as olive groves to explore. This breathtaking property is spread over two floors and benefits from a private patio and communal pool area – the latter of which is shared with four neighbouring properties. We love the master suite with its fireplace – a welcome feature during the cooler months. We suggest a car for ease –  there are restaurants less than 2km away and the pretty town of Montecatini is 15km from the home.

Spread across the farmhouse and a cottage, this charming home can be found in the Tuscan countryside, where it offers both tranquillity and space in spades. Admire the Apennine foothills from in and around the private swimming pool, or spend the morning walking the hilly terrain surrounding the home until you’ve found the perfect spot to settle down.

Racing fans might know Mugello for its circuit, but away from the petrol and screeching tyres, the Mugello countryside is a truly serene Tuscan gem. Just a twenty-five-minute drive from this famous track, and an hour from Florence, this rustic villa is a charming escape to rural life. Set on sloped, landscaped gardens with leafy trees, trailing foliage, and bright Mediterranean flowers, its traditional airs give way to some playful features. Keep the kids entertained with football on the five-a-side pitch in the garden, or head inside via the basement for foosball and a vintage pinball machine (‘big kids’ also welcome). Some might prefer a swim in the private pool, or sipping a negroni on one of the multiple patios, the choice is yours. You’ll also have plenty of choice for indoor relaxation, with three living rooms – one for every floor – and a delightful terrace upstairs where you can sip your espresso every morning. The home itself is traditionally stone-built, with the wooden ceilings on show, an old hearth in the dining room and the farm’s well still on display. Sprawling grounds house a swimming pool with a view over the rolling hills beyond, and a rustic-style loggia for outdoor dining – perfect when you're serving something cooked with fresh vegetables straight from the home's veggie patch. The stone-built, wood-fired barbecue is ideal for summer evenings. 

Apart from Tuscan farmhouse tradition, inside you’ll find some vintage touches like a wireless radio from the early 20th century, and antique furnishings. Greeting you with wrought-iron gates, this eighteenth-century Tuscan villa immerses you in the past while maintaining one foot firmly in the present. Set in rolling countryside, just a short drive from the city of Pistoia, it's about as charming as it gets. Think staggering scenery, beautiful terraces, stone courtyards and terracotta tiles. The estate is private and pristine, with immaculate lawns, fragrant flowers and a backdrop of gently swaying pine trees. It's out here that we think you'll spend most of your time, by the glorious infinity pool with far-reaching views. Up at the house, you'll step into history, with so many character features it could be used as a setting for a film. There's a grand living space, with a magnificent fireplace and huge dining table, along with a rustic kitchen and a second lounge. But it's the bedrooms that we fell head over heels with – furnished with antiques and with beamed ceilings and shuttered windows, they're simply beautiful. The ground floor bedroom even opens to a covered veranda with a table and chairs, and the master bedroom's ensuite has a Turkish bath where you can enjoy some aromatherapy. Dining outside on the terrace is an all-day affair, with a barbecue for some of the fresh produce you can pick up locally. And in the evening, why not slip into the hot tub as the sun sets. And although it feels secluded, this place is just a forty-minute drive from Lucca and an hour from Florence.

Located in the Mugello Valley, you’re a short drive from Borgo San Lorenzo, where you’ll find shops and restaurants, and 36 kilometres from the ever-popular Florence. While the kitchen area is small and there isn’t a huge amount of space for preparing meals, there’s a barbecue outside and the covered loggia is perfect for alfresco dining.

With the shops, cafes and eateries of Lamporecchio on your doorstep and picturesque Pistoia no more than a thirty-minute drive away, this apartment is perfectly placed for a laid-back family holiday.
