Bold, bright and modern with a knock-out location, this aparment is close to some of Pisa's best bits. The iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, for one, is only a few minutes away on foot. And so is Mura di Pisa and Lion's Gate. After a long day of sightseeing, the living space is ideal for relaxing. It's worth noting the sofa also doubles as a bed for two guests, but with a door present, you'll find an element of privacy. Apart from a great central spot, we also like the outdoor seating where you can take a moment to yourself every now and again.

When lovingly restoring this historic Tuscan farmhouse, the hosts chose to keep certain period features, such as the brickwork and wooden beams. However, they also oversaw some pretty impressive additions.

Obviously, we have to start with the outdoor swimming pool made from local stone, which sits in the middle of the expansive grounds. A solarium complete with loungers and umbrellas can be found conveniently alongside. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a gazebo just outside the back door where you can enjoy alfresco feasts that stretch long into the evening. Inside the home, you'll find walls painted in pleasing pastels, a modern kitchen dominated by clean lines and some eye-catching feature lighting.

Surrounding the address, there's a stream and woodland for tranquil strolls, as well as plenty of nature reserves nearby. You'll also find a wealth of attractions in the towns of Lucca and Pisa, both reached in just over twenty minutes by car.

Tucked away on the top floor of a historic building in Lucca's charming old town, this chic suite is perfect for a solo traveller looking for their Eat, Pray, Love moment or a couple looking for a romantic retreat.

Beneath its exposed beam ceilings dotted with skylights, you'll find comfortable contemporary furnishings, antique decor and elaborate Renaissance-style touches, all bathed in golden Tuscan sunlight. We loved the elevated shower cubicle behind the bed, though we recognise it won't appeal to everyone. 

Step out, and you'll find yourself within the ancient city walls, which enclose charming streets lined with medieval buildings, quaint shops, and delicious restaurants. Enjoy leisurely strolls along the top of the walls, which offer stunning views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The city's main square, Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, is a must-see and just a few hundred metres away. Additionally, the Basilica di San Frediano, the Cathedral of San Martino, and the Guinigi Tower are all shining examples of its awe-inspiring architecture.

Just outside of Lucca’s medieval walls, this romantic getaway is the perfect home to enjoy the best of both the city and countryside. Inside, the blue and white palette of the contemporary, elegant decor makes the whole space feel bright, with a crystal chandelier and sophisticated dining area adding decadent touches. After relaxing with your morning coffee in the light-filled living area, head out to the shared pool to catch some rays and cool off from the midday sun. The lush, green grounds provide ample opportunities for gentle strolls or hop on the bikes provided and cycle for ten minutes into Lucca's historic centre. After an afternoon of sightseeing, come back home for an aperitivo in the garden, and toast to another idyllic day.
