This wonderful home is the kind you’ll fondly daydream about when you’re back at home, listening to drizzle patter against the windows. Everything you might want or need during your stay has been thought of in this luxurious and welcoming home, so you can focus on enjoying every last second of your break. 

The villa is bright and stylish, with decor and finishes that would be at home in an interior design magazine. It’s beautiful, with splashes of colour adding warmth and fun. You’ll wake up to feel the sunshine on your pillow, tempting you to head through the floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors outside to the terrace. Sip an espresso as you breathe in the warm, sweet-scented air. 

The outside space has been as thoughtfully considered as the house. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a sun-worshipper or prefer to lounge in the shade. Table tennis will keep the big kids entertained, while you cool off in the refreshing solar-heated pool. There’s a gym inside, too, so you can easily get a workout in – though we might be more tempted by a yoga session on the terrace. 

When you want to explore further afield, you might stroll to Galé beach, or perhaps hop in the car to visit Troia. History buffs will enjoy seeing the Roman ruins at Cetobriga, while golfers might choose to stay closer to home – Troia Golf is a five-minute drive from the villa. This is truly a holiday home with something for everyone – you’ll never want to leave.  

Tranquil Sands Retreat

Seamlessly blending old and new with an added splash of authentic Portuguese character, this lovely studio apartment offers you a great starting point for exploring the unique and eclectic city of Funchal. Enjoy waking up in these cosy, yet bright spaces accented by original features and some striking stone details, before taking your time over a breakfast of freshly brewed coffee and mouthwatering pastries from a local bakery. Having refreshed in the luxurious marble shower, it's time to decide what to do with the rest of your day. 

Located along the Rua da Carreira, one of the main arteries of Funchal, within a gorgeous period building, this home affords you easy access to many of the main points of interest of the capital of marvellous Madeira. Choose from a great selection of local restaurants, peruse some of the numerous shops, grab a drink in one of the bars, stroll through one of the museums, or pay a visit to the Cathedral of Funchal, Funchal Municipal Garden, Marina of Funchal or the Municipal Theatre. Then of course there's that striking coastline and the extraordinarily diverse natural beauty within the island's inland areas. There really is something for everyone in this cool and quirky capital city. 

Fresh Funchal

Located in the old town of Funchal, this home offers the best of both worlds – the vibrant city on your doorstep, but within walking distance of the stunning coastline. 

Climb the stairs into your holiday haven and you’re met with a contemporary, calm and inviting space – quite the contrast to the bold colours on the home's external walls. On the top floor, you’ll find your social space, with an open-plan kitchen and living area that extends out onto your sun-drenched terrace, a spot where you’re likely to spend much of your time soaking up the Madeira sun. 

If eating out doesn’t tickle your fancy, your sleek kitchen is ready and waiting to test out your culinary skills. Whip up a feast and take it to your terrace to dine alfresco, where the sea peeks at you from between the buildings and the Funchal-Monte cable car trundles by. With the salty scent of the ocean hanging in the air, you’ll soon be itching to feel the sand beneath your feet and the sea breeze in your hair. You're in luck – a short stroll (just a few minutes) and you’ll find yourself on São Tiago beach. Here, you can spend a lazy afternoon in the sea or on the sand with your holiday read, making memories that will last long after you’ve returned home. 

Ocean Daze

This restored farmhouse sits in the nature-rich Portuguese region of Minho, encircled by valleys, sparkling rivers, plenty of cycling routes, and historical towns. You get a beautiful slice of that breathtaking nature from your countryside oasis. 

Whether you’re playing football on the soft grass, admiring the view from the terrace, or listening to the birds chatter while lying around the pool, nature is all around. You’re even welcomed by bougainvillea and cypress trees as you approach the stone brick home.

You’ll first notice the home’s traditional façade. Made up of three houses, two of which have long histories – the main house was a baker's, and the annexe, now a games room, was a distillery. Make use of the original bread and pizza oven for unforgettable meals, and whittle away evenings playing pool and drinking local wine. 

There’s plenty to keep you entertained here, but perhaps all you really want is to catch up on your book beside the pool. Let the hours drift by, breathing in the fresh country air while topping up your tan. Come dusk, the place to be is your balcony – nothing beats watching the sun dip into the sea. 

When it’s time to explore, you’re less than a mile from Afife and its beachy cafes, surf shops, seafood restaurants, and long stretch of sugary white sand. When you’re not catching waves or relaxing on the beach, hop on a hiking trail to one of the nearby waterfalls and discover the rugged mountain range. 

Valleys & Views

Situated in a quiet neighbourhood, this charming home offers a little slice of tranquillity on the outskirts of vibrant Porto. Bathed in natural light, courtesy of the generous windows and use of partition glass to separate the spaces, this sleek home holds a real charm. A small balcony and the cosy terrace areas give you the opportunity to indulge in the Portuguese sun from the comfort of your own home, while the modern kitchen is ready and waiting to put your culinary skills to the test when you fancy a quiet evening in. Pair your meal with a local port, and enjoy the flow of conversation with loved ones over dinner. Afterwards, the sofa welcomes you to sink into it and relax into a movie night – but with plenty of quiet nooks around this home, if you’re not in the mood for a film you can easily find somewhere to settle down to get lost in your holiday read.
 
A mere twenty-minute drive and you’ll find yourself in the heart of Porto where you can visit the Cathedral, marvel at the stately bridges or simply stroll the cobbled streets, stopping off at merchants’ houses and the odd cafe for a little sustenance. However you spend your time in this beautiful city, you’ll make treasured memories that will last long after you’ve returned home. 

On the Heels of Porto

Tucked away in a residential part of town, this Portimão villa is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for an Algarve oasis. The outdoor areas will occupy most of your time here – pools are always welcome, the Jacuzzi is ideal for evening cocktails, and the alfresco dining area and barbecue mean you'll rarely need to venture inside. Speaking of indoors, you'll find several living areas in the open and airy space – ideal if the heat gets too much. And while you won't find much to do in the immediate area, you're a thirty-five-minute bus journey from the beach, and the palm-tree-lined Ribeirinha Promenade is just fifteen minutes away.

Suddenly Portimão

Sharing its sea views and its fabulous infinity pool with just one neighbouring home, this modern villa is in a quiet, rural part of the island. The interiors are minimalist and strikingly contemporary, with all-white walls, pale wood floors and bespoke matching furniture. Simple and stylish throughout, floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the panoramic vistas and the bathroom features a natural stone wall and sliding glass doors to a private courtyard. But it's the outside space that dominates this place. A sun terrace with access to the pool is the perfect spot for evening drinks, while a private balcony off one of the bedrooms is a peaceful place for morning coffee. The infinity pool seems to spill over the edge of one of the island's typically steep slopes and the sea views from here are simply breathtaking. And for a real treat, spend some time each evening in your private hot tub, a quirky circular outdoor bath sunken into the sloping lawn. Best of all, you'll have access to the owner's lush subtropical gardens, filled with fresh fruit, palm trees and herbs. Beneath you, banana farmers go about their business, tending their crops, and it's a pleasant stroll down to the sea, while keen walkers will be able to hike off uphill to take in even more impressive views. 

Heart & Sol

This Caldas de Aregos home is perfect for a relaxing break in Portugal. It’s surrounded by nature in the Douro region, where you can take a cruise along the river and discover local vineyards. If you’re anything like us, you’ll spend most of your time outside, swimming in the private pool and lounging in the sunshine. There’s a barbecue for alfresco dining, and a fully-equipped kitchen inside. We love the blend of traditional features like wood-beamed ceilings with a bohemian vibe – this is a charming and comfortable space to call home. 

Douro Days

With panoramic views over the picturesque fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, this Madeira apartment is all about authentic, coastal life. The balcony has comfy seating and a dining table – perfect for sunny breakfasts or evening glasses of wine – and you’ll also have access to the shared gym and outdoor pool for morning workouts and refreshing dips. The popular 5km seaside promenade to Funchal starts nearby, and the village itself is full of winding streets, vibrant bars and local shops. After a day of exploring, pick a restaurant with a view and unwind with a glass of poncha as the sun goes down.

Seaview Hideaway

Consisting of multiple buildings nestled amongst the trees, the owners have designed this space to honour the unique spirit of its surroundings, whilst adding a range of luxurious features. From the art and objects to the natural tones and textures, every detail inspires a wonderful sense of calm. 

Enjoy relaxing by the fire in the large open-plan living and dining room, savour delicious meals prepared by your private chef and experience total serenity in the elegant bedrooms (each with its own bathroom). Follow the views outside and you’ll find the garden welcoming you to wander through the trees and savour a refreshing dip in the pool. And with multiple seating areas, this is the perfect setting for magical sunset drinks and barbecue meals that linger long into the evening. 

However you choose to spend your time here, every moment promises to be enriched by the natural beauty of this location. 

Golden Earth

Tucked away on a quiet street in Albufeira’s historic Old Town, this studio apartment is the perfect base for a couple or solo traveller looking for a convenient location in the Algarve. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and situated only a few minutes walk from dos Pescadores beach, you couldn’t be better positioned if your priority is proximity to the sand. While the apartment is small, it does have a kitchenette and an alfresco dining terrace where you can enjoy home-cooked breakfasts in the sun.

Sun & Sand

Gather up a small group of your favourite people and whisk them away for a sunny stay on the Algarve. This smart apartment is located in the resort town of Praia da Luz, and make the perfect place to relax between trips to the beach. 

The interior is bright and welcoming, with crisp white walls, cool tiles, and a comfy sofa. There's even a fireplace for if you're visiting during the chillier months – light it up and get cosy with a good book and a glass of port.
