This wonderful home is the kind you’ll fondly daydream about when you’re back at home, listening to drizzle patter against the windows. Everything you might want or need during your stay has been thought of in this luxurious and welcoming home, so you can focus on enjoying every last second of your break. 

The villa is bright and stylish, with decor and finishes that would be at home in an interior design magazine. It’s beautiful, with splashes of colour adding warmth and fun. You’ll wake up to feel the sunshine on your pillow, tempting you to head through the floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors outside to the terrace. Sip an espresso as you breathe in the warm, sweet-scented air. 

The outside space has been as thoughtfully considered as the house. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a sun-worshipper or prefer to lounge in the shade. Table tennis will keep the big kids entertained, while you cool off in the refreshing solar-heated pool. There’s a gym inside, too, so you can easily get a workout in – though we might be more tempted by a yoga session on the terrace. 

When you want to explore further afield, you might stroll to Galé beach, or perhaps hop in the car to visit Troia. History buffs will enjoy seeing the Roman ruins at Cetobriga, while golfers might choose to stay closer to home – Troia Golf is a five-minute drive from the villa. This is truly a holiday home with something for everyone – you’ll never want to leave.

Meanwhile, its two balconies provide private outdoor spaces for morning coffees and alfresco evening cuisine. However, if a holiday for you also means a break from the kitchen, there are plenty of authentic local restaurants a short stroll away.

Just 10km from the beautiful town of Sintra, this traditional home makes a great base from which to explore the Portuguese Riviera. It’s also just 1.5km from Praia das Maçãs beach as well as local restaurants and shops. We recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay, but for relaxing days at home, this villa ticks all the right boxes. The swimming pool can be heated (upon request), there’s a terrace for al fresco dining and the rooms are family-friendly – and with three ground floor bedrooms, this is a lovely option for those with reduced mobility.

Then there’s the swimming pool (heated upon request), terrace and outdoor fire – ideal for sunset drinks and stargazing. From here, you can stroll down to nearby Praia da Aguda beach (just 1km away) and you’ll find restaurants, bars and a supermarket also within easy reach. For explorations further afield, we suggest hiring a car and visiting nearby Sintra (11km away) and Cape Roca. There’s free private parking, and if you’re looking for a little something extra your host can help organise excursions.

On the outskirts of charming Ericeira, this home puts you a five-minute walk from shops, restaurants, and beaches. It's a great spot for exploring on foot, though there's plenty to love here besides the location. For starters, the coastal views are hard to beat. Another favourite is the hot tub – ideal for a sunset soak – while the terrace has alfresco dining covered. The design inside is modern and bright, with a collection of comfortable bedrooms to choose from. As the fifth bedroom boasts a trundle bed, we think this pad is best for eight adults and two children.
