This wonderful home is the kind you’ll fondly daydream about when you’re back at home, listening to drizzle patter against the windows. Everything you might want or need during your stay has been thought of in this luxurious and welcoming home, so you can focus on enjoying every last second of your break. 

The villa is bright and stylish, with decor and finishes that would be at home in an interior design magazine. It’s beautiful, with splashes of colour adding warmth and fun. You’ll wake up to feel the sunshine on your pillow, tempting you to head through the floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors outside to the terrace. Sip an espresso as you breathe in the warm, sweet-scented air. 

The outside space has been as thoughtfully considered as the house. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a sun-worshipper or prefer to lounge in the shade. Table tennis will keep the big kids entertained, while you cool off in the refreshing solar-heated pool. There’s a gym inside, too, so you can easily get a workout in – though we might be more tempted by a yoga session on the terrace. 

When you want to explore further afield, you might stroll to Galé beach, or perhaps hop in the car to visit Troia. History buffs will enjoy seeing the Roman ruins at Cetobriga, while golfers might choose to stay closer to home – Troia Golf is a five-minute drive from the villa. This is truly a holiday home with something for everyone – you’ll never want to leave.

Bring out snacks when you refill your drink and stay out even as the day gives way to a balmy evening.

When you want to take solace from the mid-day heat, the pastel-hued living area is the perfect space to cool down. And when the day turns to dusk, head up to your boho-chic terrace for a wondrous sunset view, accompanied by a glass of fine local wine. 

The beauty of this villa is how secluded it feels, yet exploring the local area comes so easily. It’s located in the tiny village of Aleida de Meco, known for its deliciously fresh seafood, just 2.5 miles from Meco beach. The beach was only discovered in the 1970s and has a nostalgic tinge to its unspoiled sands. If you want to venture further, the lively town of Sesimbra is just 7.5 miles away. There, you can learn why it’s so famous for its wine and cheese, as well as its surfing.

Just 10km from the beautiful town of Sintra, this traditional home makes a great base from which to explore the Portuguese Riviera. It’s also just 1.5km from Praia das Maçãs beach as well as local restaurants and shops. We recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay, but for relaxing days at home, this villa ticks all the right boxes. The swimming pool can be heated (upon request), there’s a terrace for al fresco dining and the rooms are family-friendly – and with three ground floor bedrooms, this is a lovely option for those with reduced mobility. 

Vibrant Dreams

Looking at those views, it’s not hard to see why this home is in our collection. Then there’s the swimming pool (heated upon request), terrace and outdoor fire – ideal for sunset drinks and stargazing. From here, you can stroll down to nearby Praia da Aguda beach (just 1km away) and you’ll find restaurants, bars and a supermarket also within easy reach. For explorations further afield, we suggest hiring a car and visiting nearby Sintra (11km away) and Cape Roca. There’s free private parking, and if you’re looking for a little something extra your host can help organise excursions.  

Portuguese Nectar

With its central location, this home makes a great base from which to explore Sintra. Stepping outside, it’s just a short walk to the majestic sights with easy access to local restaurants, cafes and shops. There’s also a sweet terrace offering great views and while the rooms are basic, we think most of your time will be spent outdoors exploring the region. Guests should also note this apartment is located on the third floor with no lift access.

In the bustling heart of Lisbon lies this functional apartment ideal for couples. While the home isn't full of character, it's just a short stroll from the Mercado da Ribeira and Praça do Comércio – perfect for those looking to explore Lisbon's vibrant street culture and historical landmarks. While the bedroom is small and the living room a little bare, the sofa bed offers flexible sleeping arrangements, and the kitchenette has all you need for cooking. 

The Yellow Moon

This apartment in the quiet neighbourhood of Estrela is ideal for a family or group of friends. You’ll find trendy restaurants in nearby Santos and the Park of Necessidades is a nice place to unwind with a picnic. Catch the bus to the bustling Praça do Comércio or head into Baixa for shops and the medieval Carmo Convent. The home itself is comfortable and is equipped with all the trappings for a fuss-free stay. There’s not much natural light, though, especially in the bedrooms, and space in the living area is tight for a group of six. 

The Artist's Repose

Located in the Graça neighbourhood of Lisbon, this spot offers views across the Tagus River and Lisbon's National Pantheon. Just a four-minute walk from the nearest supermarket and Portuguese bakery, the balcony terrace makes an idyllic little spot to sit with your morning coffee and pastries overlooking the city's rooftops. However, it's worth noting that the kitchen is small, and its compact layout makes it difficult to cook more substantial meals. Conveniently, the bedrooms feature air conditioning, although we think the fourth bedroom (with a double sofa bed) is better suited to one guest rather than two. 




The Watercolour Effect

Compact but cosy, this central apartment is a great base for exploring Lisbon. The balcony is a sweet bonus – not to mention the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastel de nata before setting off. Since it's on the third floor without a lift, this home won't suit guests who struggle with stairs. One bedroom is smaller than the other – it's a good option for kids – and the kitchen lacks an oven, so dining out will likely be on the cards. Even so, you've got a wealth of options nearby, plus you're walking distance from attractions like Praça do Comércio (twenty minutes away), Santa Justa Lift (fifteen minutes) and the Tram 28.

Dias de Amor

Situated in the family-friendly neighbourhood of Santa Catarina, you’ll find an array of attractions nearby. Miradouro da Santa Catarina is three minutes on foot, Mercado da Ribeira is an eleven-minute stroll and the Santa Justa Lift is a fifteen-minute walk away. The stop for the famous Tram 28 is not far too. You don’t need to go anywhere though to enjoy beautiful views over the neighbourhood – just take them in from the home's small balcony, a glass of Portuguese wine in hand. The bedrooms' Juliet balconies are a nice touch here too, perfect for waking up to the Lisbon sunshine each morning. 

Lisbon in the Sun

This apartment’s location in Lisbon is hard to beat. It’s in Santa Catarina, a neighbourhood built on one of Lisbon’s seven hills, so you’ll have some steep inclines to navigate. Happily, the iconic Tram 28 goes straight past this home, so you can hitch a ride and experience one of the city’s top attractions all in one go. The apartment's setting in the heart of Lisbon is its key selling point, along with its narrow balcony overlooking colourful winding streets. There are some signs of wear and tear at this well-loved home, but it makes for a great base. 

Velvet Glaze

Located right in front of Praça da Figueira with views of the square from its Juliet balcony, this apartment puts you in a wonderfully central spot from which to explore Lisbon’s sights. The decor is a pêle-mêle of styles that won’t be to everyone’s taste. And the great locale means street noise is to be expected. However, the interconnecting bedrooms make this spot a good choice for families, as well as those looking to spend their days visiting the myriad cultural hotspots within easy walking distance. 


The Marquis of Jardem

A two-minute jaunt from the family-favourite Estrela Garden, this seventh-floor apartment offers an ideal base for packed itineraries and business trips. Remote workers are promised practicality with the bedroom desk, and while the views aren't breathtaking, the choice of two balconies await your galão breaks. It's not the most charming home – the pipework is old and you're likely to hear your neighbours – but it's a fuss-free option. Fancy heading downtown? It's a bit of a trek on foot, but excellent public transport links sit on your doorstep. There's also the option for on-street parking if you'd rather drive.

We think it works especially well for families who'd like to split into smaller groups – the two self-contained apartments and a separate bungalow can make that happen. With a tick on location, daily cleaning included, and the possibility for events, you can see why this one caught our eye.
