Whether you’re taking a dip in the private swimming pool, lounging in the sun on the terrace’s day bed, or even peering out of the large windows from inside the home, the position of this villa offers some truly stunning vistas to enjoy. 

Start your relaxing days here with the breakfast that has been prepared for you. We would love to enjoy our coffee alfresco on sunny days, to enjoy the morning breeze and get a first glimpse of the valley each day.  Then, get competitive and let off some steam in the games room before lunch. 

A trip to the Duoro wine region of Portugal wouldn’t be complete without the wine, so why not treat yourself to a wine tasting which can be reached in as little as thirteen minutes by car? Select your favourite wines to take home and pair with a delicious dinner that can be cooked alfresco on the barbecue. Then, enjoy the meal outside too so you can admire the sun setting over this wonderful panorama as you sip your wine.

Valley of the Wines

Facing an impressive mountain backdrop, this hillside villa overlooks the charming town of Ribeira Brava. Set back from a black-sanded beach and the cafe-lined promenade, we recommend stopping by the historic Mother Church of São Bento – beloved across the region for its collection of 16th-century paintings. Nearby lies the sun-soaked Ponta do Sol, but you couldn't be in a better place to explore the island, with easy access to the highway.

Surrounded by a wealth of natural beauty, this observatory home lets you enjoy a bird's eye view from the secluded terrace. Just imagine flicking through a local newspaper beneath the shade of an umbrella or admiring sunsets from the comfort of the infinity pool. We think the summer kitchen serves as a great hangout spot, inviting you to sit atop carved barstools and try a glass of Madeira wine. After an all-day adventure, how about firing up the smoky grill and serving your loved ones an alfresco supper?

Edge of Forever

You’ll find this practical yet homely apartment in the heart of Funchal, no more than 400 metres from cafes, bars, restaurants and the La Vie shopping centre. Visit the Sacred Art Museum and the Gothic-style Funchal Cathedral before finding a spot to picnic in the peaceful Santa Catarina Park. If a day at the beach sounds like a good idea, take the short drive to Praia Formosa and stretch out on the sand. 

Back at your abode, an open-plan living space invites you to kick off your shoes and make yourself comfortable. Rustle up something tasty at the fully-equipped kitchenette or fall back onto the sofa with a good book. Outside, there’s a large terrace for barbecues on balmy afternoons and glasses of traditional Poncha come nighttime. And when you’re ready to get some rest, the king-size bed guarantees a restful slumber.

Sun on My Mind

Live the boho lifestyle in this charming villa, based close to Comporto beach and providing you with a serene resting spot for when you’re not out exploring. We adore the bohemian decor and characterful artwork, such as the coloured glass collection, woven fabrics and wicker furniture, which gives the home a warm and welcoming feel. You can spend sunny mornings out on your shaded terrace, with a large lounge area that makes for a great place for your morning coffee. You can cook up delicious chorizo scrambled eggs in your quaint kitchen area and tuck in alfresco at the shaded dining table. In the evenings, plant yourself in a deckchair with a glass of fizz, and watch the sunset over the fields in the distance.

This villa resides in a peaceful and rural spot in Comporta, an idyllic village that sits peacefully between rice fields and the ocean. You’ll be based just a stroll away from a 60km-long stretch of stunning beaches, and so ideally located for sea swimming, sunbathing, and spotting dolphins swimming off of the coast. It's easy to spend a whole day exploring the vibrant bars and fantastic restaurants that line the seafront.

Beachy Boho

Cue swoon-worthy panoramic views, cocktails on the terrace, and an all-around lavish experience at this waterfront villa inviting guests to enjoy Funchal in a truly luxurious setting. You'll be able to take in the crystalline ocean views from pretty much wherever you are in the home. Still, our favourite spot, without a shadow of a doubt, is the infinity swimming pool (preferably with a cold beverage in hand). Relish in the open air, with the manicured gardens, alfresco dining areas and secluded balcony corners for moments of reflection – all while pinching yourself that this is real. 

Inside, wonderful artwork selections and finishing touches create an atmospheric space dripping in antique Madeiran elegance. The home's central hub extends upwards with two-story ceilings and a large salon – perfect for hosting receptions or social affairs. Meanwhile, marble archways lead out to the wrap-around balcony, which frames the spectacular seascape like a painting on the wall. Each bedroom and bathroom suite provides guests with blissful privacy and the opportunity for moments of solitude when needed. 

Only two minutes from the beach, you'll be within convenient reach of many quality restaurants, bars and shops, alongside the city of Funchal's fabulous cultural hot spots and picturesque harbour. 

By the Crystalline Ocean

Up above the town of Ponta do Sol on Madeira’s south coast, this sugar-cube style apartment embraces traditional architecture on the outside and minimalist modernity inside. The view of Ponta do Sol – a series of orange-roofed buildings tumbling down the hillside to the deep blue sea – is framed by tropical plants, and settling into the beanbag-like chairs on the private terrace is the perfect spot to take it all in. A sparkling rectangle of infinity pool is shared with one other apartment, along with the hillside hot tub. Inside, the walls are kept pristine white without a hint of clutter, and the light-wood kitchen is brightened by sunlight streaming in through a wall of glass. It’s a six-minute walk into the centre of Ponta do Sol where there’s a handful of cafés, bars and restaurants and a local grocery shop. The larger town of Ribeira Brava is a 10-minute drive away. 

Set On The Sea

Sharing its sea views and its fabulous infinity pool with just one neighbouring home, this modern villa is in a quiet, rural part of the island. The interiors are minimalist and strikingly contemporary, with all-white walls, pale wood floors and bespoke matching furniture. Simple and stylish throughout, floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the panoramic vistas and the bathroom features a natural stone wall and sliding glass doors to a private courtyard. But it's the outside space that dominates this place. A sun terrace with access to the pool is the perfect spot for evening drinks, while a private balcony off one of the bedrooms is a peaceful place for morning coffee. The infinity pool seems to spill over the edge of one of the island's typically steep slopes and the sea views from here are simply breathtaking. And for a real treat, spend some time each evening in your private hot tub, a quirky circular outdoor bath sunken into the sloping lawn. Best of all, you'll have access to the owner's lush subtropical gardens, filled with fresh fruit, palm trees and herbs. Beneath you, banana farmers go about their business, tending their crops, and it's a pleasant stroll down to the sea, while keen walkers will be able to hike off uphill to take in even more impressive views. 

Heart & Sol

Admire the aquamarine sea and blue hues in this amazing villa. The roof terrace is where you'll be spending most of your time, with a gas barbeque, bar, and a pool, what else could you want? Spend your evenings relaxing on the terrace, drinking wine and tucking into the traditional Portuguese cuisine.  Put your bartender hat on and practice making cocktails at the rooftop bar, and sip the night away listening to your favourite songs. 

The living room boasts a balcony that has a gorgeous view of the ocean, giving you ample opportunity to see the plethora of boats that sail past daily. You'll find two beaches nearby, so you can spend your days in the sun with the sand between your toes. There's also a variety of eateries in the area, so take your pick and dine out in style.

Aqua Reflections

This restored farmhouse sits in the nature-rich Portuguese region of Minho, encircled by valleys, sparkling rivers, plenty of cycling routes, and historical towns. You get a beautiful slice of that breathtaking nature from your countryside oasis. 

Whether you’re playing football on the soft grass, admiring the view from the terrace, or listening to the birds chatter while lying around the pool, nature is all around. You’re even welcomed by bougainvillea and cypress trees as you approach the stone brick home.

You’ll first notice the home’s traditional façade. Made up of three houses, two of which have long histories – the main house was a baker's, and the annexe, now a games room, was a distillery. Make use of the original bread and pizza oven for unforgettable meals, and whittle away evenings playing pool and drinking local wine. 

There’s plenty to keep you entertained here, but perhaps all you really want is to catch up on your book beside the pool. Let the hours drift by, breathing in the fresh country air while topping up your tan. Come dusk, the place to be is your balcony – nothing beats watching the sun dip into the sea. 

When it’s time to explore, you’re less than a mile from Afife and its beachy cafes, surf shops, seafood restaurants, and long stretch of sugary white sand. When you’re not catching waves or relaxing on the beach, hop on a hiking trail to one of the nearby waterfalls and discover the rugged mountain range. 

Valleys & Views

On the wild shores of Portugal’s Atlantic coast, the region of Comporta boasts golden sand dunes, abundant pine forests and miles of spectacular scenery. It’s also renowned for its signature small thatched cabanas – crafted with locally sourced wood and grasses from the riverbanks. And this home (just a short walk from the beach) perfectly embodies this rich tradition of craftsmanship and heritage. 

Consisting of multiple buildings nestled amongst the trees, the owners have designed this space to honour the unique spirit of its surroundings, whilst adding a range of luxurious features. From the art and objects to the natural tones and textures, every detail inspires a wonderful sense of calm. 

Enjoy relaxing by the fire in the large open-plan living and dining room, savour delicious meals prepared by your private chef and experience total serenity in the elegant bedrooms (each with its own bathroom). Follow the views outside and you’ll find the garden welcoming you to wander through the trees and savour a refreshing dip in the pool. And with multiple seating areas, this is the perfect setting for magical sunset drinks and barbecue meals that linger long into the evening. 

However you choose to spend your time here, every moment promises to be enriched by the natural beauty of this location. 

Golden Earth

Set in the heart of the spectacular Douro Valley, this 17th-century estate boasts sweeping river views. The vibe here is country living with a touch of grandeur - think exposed brick walls, four-poster beds, chandeliers and shutters. And with rooms spread across the main house and four charming outbuildings, there's plenty of space for up to sixteen guests. Spend your days lounging by the private pool or wandering the landscaped gardens, then choose between cruising the Douro River or sampling the region’s finest wines at one of the surrounding vineyards. This is slow living at its very best.

Vines of the Douro

Blessed with an enviable clifftop location looking out over Funchal Bay, we can envision long afternoons laid out on sun loungers that evolve into evenings on the terrace, with a glass of wine in hand, watching passing boats bobbing on the ocean waves as the sun slowly sinks towards the horizon.

While the Atlantic views have to be seen to be believed, the home's interior is equally as lovely. Step through sliding doors into a bright and breezy open layout living space with comfy seating, a rustic wooden dining table and a sleek kitchen with a 50s-inspired chequerboard floor. Elsewhere, the main bedroom also benefits from direct access to the outdoors, so you can wake up to outstanding 180-degree vistas each morning.

Steps away from your front door, not even the scenic Miradouro do Lazareto can compete with your private panorama. Stroll along the cliffs towards the narrow, winding alleys of Funchal's charming Zona Velha, but not before hopping on the cable car up to Monte for a whole new perspective on the city.
