This modern home in central Scottsdale is a resort-like base for those looking to make the most of all that the region has to offer. Spend lazy mornings around the pool and in the gardens practising your put while you plan the day's golfing adventure. If you're not one for the course, choose a spa experience in the area to indulge in. By the day’s end, the pool bums, desert hikers, kayakers, and golfers alike will gather back on the patio for a BBQ and a round of pool in the billiards room. If the desert chill sets in, congregate around the open fire in the living room; its reclaimed wood backdrop adding a shade of boho-chic. All five bedrooms are spacious, bright and welcoming, making sure you'll get enough rest to wake up ready to explore the nearby hiking trails, which are only a five-minute drive away. This home has a certain Southern flair and features a gorgeous cactus mural that creates a playful atmosphere. It's unlikely you'll be rushing to get out of this entertainment-packed home, but if you want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants in Old Town Scottsdale that are worth a visit.

Sunny Days Ahead

Want all the amenities of a resort without having to share your space with any other holidaymakers? You’re in luck – this Scottsdale home is pretty much your own private hotel, with a pool, outdoor dining area, grill section, and even a putting green for family mini-golf tournaments. Soak up the sun in the backyard, popping inside every now and then to refill your drink from the bar cart or raid the kitchen for snacks. If the heat of the day gets too much, you can always head into one of the four luxurious bedrooms for an afternoon siesta, or cool down in front of your favourite show in the stylish living room. With two lounges, big, plush bedrooms and a brilliant backyard, you can spend plenty of quality time together while also enjoying your own space. The large rooms in neutral tones are calming and comfortable and there’s plenty to keep you occupied with the pool table, a stack of games and the inviting outdoor pool ready to cool you down from the Arizona heat. In the evenings, cosy up by the fire pit or dine alfresco on the covered terrace, equipped with a barbecue. With Old Town Scottsdale, a selection of golf courses and Phoenix’s top attractions all just 20 minutes away by car, there's no end to the entertainment to be enjoyed here. 

Kit & Caboodle

Just outside of Phoenix, you'll find this fun-filled home that demands you spend at least some time at the homestead. We love the outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying southwestern-style barbecues. Combine this with the game room (complete with bar), swimming pool and golf putting area, and you may be spending less time exploring the local area than you imagined. You won't be disappointed when you do decide to go out, though, with numerous nearby parks ideal for a desert trek.

All Play

Nestled in the Arcadia neighbourhood, with downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix in easy reach, this smart home is a great place for explorers to kick back and relax. There are plenty of places to hang out with your loved ones, from the cool and crisp living room to the back yard where you can roast marshmallows by the fire pit. The interior design is effortlessly cool with a touch of desert luxury, and we particularly liked the well-equipped kitchen with a chic little breakfast bar. After a morning coffee, culture vultures can head to Scottsdale Arts District, while hikers can take a drive to the trails of McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Reconvene at one of Arcadia's cafés or restaurants to share stories about your adventures, before heading home to mix some drinks in the cocktail shaker and settle in for a movie night.

Polished marbled floors lead you to a luxurious living and dining room, six large bedrooms – four of which with en-suite bathrooms – and a master bedroom that opens up into the patio. Your host has gone the extra mile to accommodate all kinds of groups, with the option to split any super-king bed into generous twins, so you'll never have to compromise on personal space. Within the blissful confines of the boundaries, you can also admire mountain views and the breathtaking Arizona sunset as your day draws to a close. Or in a short drive from the estate, you’ll find hiking gems, golfing, shopping, fine dining and the neighbourhood bars and eateries of Old Town Scottsdale.

Living Large

Choose Happiness is a luxurious central Scottsdale affair, complete with anything you need for a happy and relaxed time away. Before we get carried away with the features, it's important to mention that you'll have a plethora of sights and restaurants available within walking distance, but then, you've seen the kitchen, haven't you? The pictures barely do this home justice. When the team that designed this home decided on a mostly natural-tone look, they did so to highlight the high-end minimalist features like the fire pit and the sleek dining area. Arizona being the Copper State, there's a nod to this in the shape of a copper sink in the kitchen, which testifies to the great attention to detail. But let's not forget the more obvious star elements here – a heated pool, an abundance of outdoor seating to hang out, the concierge team at your disposal to book a variety of services, and a private office space for those who can't get completely away from it all.

Choose Happiness

With the Old Town, fashion square mall, entertainment district and Camelback mountain right on your doorstep, The Blue Pearl is a great base for those wishing to explore the best of Scottsdale. The modern home itself is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the Arizona sun, with a lovely back garden. Take a dip in your private swimming pool with a soothing waterfall feature or spend balmy evenings cooking up tasty meals by the BBQ area.  There’s plenty of space, making this a great home for groups of friends or multiple families – that said, there are a few twin trundle beds instead of actual beds. Also bear in mind that one of the bedrooms doubles up as a games room, but the pool table and smart TV make up for it. 

The Blue Pearl

There's plenty of fun to be had at this home in Scottsdale. Packed with activities like a heated pool, hot tub, and putting green, you'll never have a dull moment here. The interiors are bright, breezy and contemporary, while the garden is the definition of sun-kissed. Don't want to miss a workout? The main bedroom has a Peloton bike, and outside, you'll find yoga mats ideal for morning asana. Or you can spend the afternoon playing foosball, ping-pong, and Pacman in the two different game rooms –  just note that the one in the garage doesn't have air conditioning. Last but not least, the location is ideal for exploring, though you'll definitely need a car.

Desert Thrills
