Nestled in the Arcadia neighbourhood, with downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix in easy reach, this smart home is a great place for explorers to kick back and relax. There are plenty of places to hang out with your loved ones, from the cool and crisp living room to the back yard where you can roast marshmallows by the fire pit. The interior design is effortlessly cool with a touch of desert luxury, and we particularly liked the well-equipped kitchen with a chic little breakfast bar. After a morning coffee, culture vultures can head to Scottsdale Arts District, while hikers can take a drive to the trails of McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Reconvene at one of Arcadia's cafés or restaurants to share stories about your adventures, before heading home to mix some drinks in the cocktail shaker and settle in for a movie night. 

A Phoenix Breeze

You’ll find this little oasis in one of Scottsdale’s best areas. Whether you’re up for lazing by the swimming pool or shooting hoops in the Arizona sunshine, this place has got you covered. There’s a roomy backyard, planted desert-style with cacti and palms. Inside, the airy rooms, houseplants and modern art all reflect the state's natural beauty too. Spend those warm summer nights sharing stories around the fire pit as the sun goes down, while the games room, complete with a dartboard and pool table, provides endless entertainment when the temperature drops. If you decide to head out, you'll find plenty of attractions on your doorstep, with Kierland Commons and a TPC Golf Course just five minutes away.

Moon Cactus

Endlessly cool in the hot desert sun, Take A Snapshot boasts a modern, monochrome look that is sure to delight its guests. Located just minutes from Scottsdale's Old Town and its world famous restaurants, bars, shopping and art galleries, there is plenty of entertainment right on your doorstep. But best of all, you'll have a splendid backyard that features a spa, heated pool, barbecue, outdoor dining and lots of outdoor games. We wouldn't even blame you if you hardly left the house when there is such an array of activities waiting right in your garden. Splash around in the pool, work on your tan, play games, then head out for an evening on the town – it doesn't get much better than that. You can even get yourself a personal butler, a private chef, or an at-home yoga class, just ask your host for details.

Take A Snapshot

Contemporary and cool, this townhouse is a superior Scottsdale base. It’s a chic home spread across four floors – so you’ll need to be able to climb stairs to stay here – with a glorious rooftop terrace at its pinnacle. Mountain views and sunshine await on the terrace, while inside, you can look forward to a comfortable and stylish living and dining space, a well-equipped kitchen, and three attractive bedrooms. One bedroom is set up with a sofa bed and boasts a kitchenette, perfect for a couple seeking more privacy. The home is close to restaurants, bars, and shops. It comes with passes for a nearby resort, where you can swim and work out, and there are golf courses close by, too. 

Southwest Modernity

This corner of the USA is famed for its resorts, but you’ll have a private one of your very own at this Scottsdale home. Part of a friendly community, outside the gates there’s enough shopping, food and golf to satisfy enthusiasts of any level. However, inside the doors of this remodelled hillside home, it's all about relaxation with a distinct luxe twist. The master bedroom, in particular, is a showstopper, with its red leather sofa, huge en-suite bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows which make the most of the view of the desert, as well as the fuchsia bougainvillaea that border the entire house. There are two parts of this home we think will get repeat visits — the restaurant-quality indoor bar area that puts drinks cabinets masquerading as such to shame and the outdoor hot tub. Bring the two together — responsibly, of course — for an evening you won't forget in a long time.

Shimmering Sienna

Minutes from downtown Old Town, the Entertainment District, a choice of ten golf courses and multiple hiking options up and around Camelback Mountain, this newly renovated home is excellently located in the Old Town district of Scottsdale. Though it looks fairly simple from the exterior, this home has been recently renovated and the open-plan kitchen and living space feels fresh, modern and comfortable. The master bedroom is particularly enviable - we loved the love seat next to the bed - but guests should note that one of the bedrooms doubles as a children-oriented games room.

Desert Pool

Looking for a fun-packed family escape? This recently remodelled and colourful mid-century-inspired home is as good as it gets. It’s a five-minute walk to Old Town Scottsdale, where you'll have access to world-famous restaurants, shopping, art galleries and more. After exploring, come back to the spacious garden and kick off some games – why not shoot some hoops in the heated pool or challenge the group to a mini-golf championship? The winners can bask in the sunshine while the losing team fires up the barbecue. Rain stopping play? The high-spec kitchen has everything you need for a Michelin-star-level dinner, and we particularly love the mini wine fridge. But if cooking is absolutely not on the cards (well, you are on holiday), your host can arrange for a private chef and a butler, among many other five-star services that will turn your holiday into a completely hands-off affair.

Two Palm Golf

Enjoy an abundance of entertainment, from the exquisite pool to corn hole and Jenga, when you stay at The Gnamma. This oasis in the middle of the Sonoran Desert is located just two miles from Scottsdale Fashion Square and Old Town, making a great choice for those that want to be close to the action whilst still enjoying a little peace and quiet. Offering three very comfortable bedrooms, all of which sport a sleek mid-century look, we think a few friends or a family will be well looked after at this incredibly chic and fully equipped home just moments from all of Scottsdale’s downtown action.

The Gnamma

Choose to live the good life by staying in this Southwestern-inspired Scottsdale home. Built with family fun in mind and featuring a large pool that's heated at no extra cost, a patio with multiple chill out areas and an outdoor bar, everyone can pick their favourite spot to enjoy the Arizona sunshine. We picture ourselves relaxing on one of comfortable loungers for hours, before heading out to shop at Scottsdale Quarter or golf at the world-class Torrey Pines Course. Nominate the group's chef and have them fire up the barbecue for an evening grilling session under the stars. And if cooking is not on the cards, your hosts can arrange for a professional private chef and a butler instead – their five-star concierge service is always just a message or call away.

Cactus Garden

This Phoenix home has some serious swimming pool game. The pool is fed by seven waterfalls and has won awards for its design. Taking a dip or soaking in the integrated hot tub is like sliding into a pool in a magical grotto, uplit at night. The yard is set up for all kinds of fun and games, with beach volleyball (bring your own ball), a basketball court, cornhole and a ping pong table by the pergola-covered bar. A gas grill can fuel sports tournaments long into the evening and a fire pit and chiminea provide a little warmth on cool desert nights. Practice on the putting green before hitting the real thing – there are world-class golf courses within an easy drive this home (like Stone Creek and Paradise Valley). The games continue inside, where a pool table awaits in the huge open-plan kitchen, dining and living room. After the excitement of gameplay all day, the bedrooms are a soothing medley of grey and white with big, comfy beds. 

Game Face

Set on one acre of land, Sonoran Circle offers plenty of room to spend time with your loved ones. A retreat in itself, we recommend spending the day swimming in the saltwater pool, cooling down under the stone waterfall or relaxing in the jacuzzi. If you feel like it, you can also challenge someone to a game of ping pong – or gather around the fire pit and watch the most beautiful sunsets. Inside, you’ll find a gorgeous living room with a grand piano, a family room that’s perfect for cosy film nights, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. And did we mention that there’s also a private gym with a spinning bike, power plate, pull-up bar, bench and hand weights? We also can’t get enough of the breathtaking mountain views offered in some of the bedrooms and bathrooms. But best of all? You’re close to lots of exciting hiking trails traversing the Sonoran Desert, along with beautiful golf courses.

Sonoran Circle

Looking for the ultimate getaway for a large family? This fabulous home in sunny Scottsdale has something to impress everyone - even the impossible to please. First up there's the kitchen. It has all the high-spec equipment you need to create a banquet, plus room for a head-chef, sous-chef and diligent vegetable peeler/washer-upper without squabbles breaking out. The open-plan living room is elegant space, with a large flat-screen TV and L-shaped sofa big enough for small army of popcorn munching movie-watchers. The bedrooms are all individually designed, and we particularly love the children's room with its comfy bunk beds, blue-and-white teepee and pastel-coloured bean bags. Out in the garden there's a good-sized turquoise pool, plenty of games equipment (including small, moveable football goals for pool footie), a roaring fire pit and wicker hanging egg chairs. And if you can tear yourself away, this home is in the heart of Scottsdale, and the bars, restaurants, shops plus Scottsdale baseball stadium are all a short drive away.
