Closer to home, you can wander up the street from your door and discover plenty of options, from high-end dining to ‘hole-in-the-wall’ gems that locals frequent.

Whether you choose to take in the sounds of Bourbon Street or enjoy a meal with great background music, is entirely up to you. What’s more, your neighbourhood also boasts some of the country’s premier music venues, vibrant nightlife, and fine dining establishments, so you won’t have to go far to find great venues.

The famous streetcar transportation, which inspired Tennessee Williams' writing, is reachable in just five minutes by foot from this home, opening up a city of opportunities for you. Take an evening stroll by the cathedral, which is twenty-seven minutes away on the tram, visit the House of Blues – reachable in twenty-two minutes, or even take a steamboat ride up the Mississippi River – which can be reached on the tram within twenty-seven minutes.

When you’re not devouring modern Creole fare in intimate eateries or sipping Sazeracs in casual music dives, you’ll be brushing up on your history knowledge at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, a twenty-minute streetcar ride away. 

Back at your pad, an open-plan living space awaits. There’s a comfy leather couch for putting your feet up at the end of a busy day and a fully-equipped kitchen for when you fancy flexing your culinary muscles. Elsewhere in the building, you’ll find a games room, gym and a rooftop terrace – it was our favourite spot to watch the sunset with a glass of wine in hand.

It’s in the Lower Garden District of the city, a five-minute drive (or twenty-five-minute walk) to the buzzing French Quarter where old-world architecture is on display and the jazz bars of Bourbon Street toot long into the night. Your neighbourhood is a quiet spot to return to, where cottage-like houses stand side-by-side, but there are still bars and restaurants a-plenty, especially on St Charles Avenue.
