You’d be forgiven for expecting Julie Andrews to come running over the grass outside this home. But even though this isn’t Austria, the hills are truly alive in the natural open setting and the clear mountain air certainly blows away the cobwebs. The minimal interior of this home is designed for functionality and simplicity, and is a great sociable space where guests can gather – throw open the balcony doors and it feels even bigger. Just a few minutes walk to the ski lift, restaurants, bars and food stores, this home lends itself well to a group of friends and is suited to visitors at any time of year. It’s also in a brilliant position for visiting Switzerland’s capital Bern, which is just over an hour’s drive north. For fondue fanatics, it’s worth mentioning there’s a raclette grill in the kitchen. Fireside cheese fondue and a glass of red? What a way to spend an evening.
