Situated on the second floor of a modern apartment block, this light, bright, uncomplicated home features an open plan kitchen, dining and living room which opens out onto a spacious glass fronted terrace.  You’ll love waking up to views you could never dream of tiring of, taking your morning coffee at the breakfast bar or out onto the terrace for swoon worthy scenes of great natural beauty. Head over to the resort hub and treat yourself to a soothing pre-sauna soak in the hydro massage bath. Alternatively, get your sweat on in the resident’s only fitness centre followed by some laps of the indoor pool and some well-deserved me time in the relaxation room all while gazing out across lovely Lake Geneva.  

Truly a home for all seasons, in the winter you’ll be able to make the most of your close proximity to the ski slopes, while in the summer you’ll be able to hike, play a round of golf, lounge by the lake or even attend the mighty Montreux Jazz Festival, what could be better? 

Jazz & Joy

On the ground floor of a traditional chalet-style resort, this comfortable apartment offers sublime Alpine views and easy access to sensational ski slopes. Large windows dominate the living room, filling the space with light and offering the most scenic backdrop you could hope for. The simple styling makes for a homely feel, with big, plump sofas. The bedroom has its own private terrace, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee while you breathe in that crisp, clean mountain air. Set off to explore Grindelwald’s centre just minutes away, then take the gondola or the free ski bus to reach the pistes. After a day of fun in the snow, come back home for a fondue feast followed by a glass of mulled wine with a movie. In the summer, the area offers countless hiking and cycling trails to explore, as well as canoeing and river rafting for the more adventurous. 


Frosted Pine

Set in the heart of Switzerland’s Sherlock country, this apartment is just a kilometre from the Meiringen-Hasilberg ski area, surrounded by stunning Alpine scenery. Known for its connection to the fictional detective, the region is home to the Reichenbach Falls – where he faked a fatal fall alongside his nemesis. Away from its literary links, there are hiking trails and paths right outside the door, and in summer you can choose between horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding, and lake swimming to keep you busy. Visiting in the winter? You’ll be glad to hear the resort complex comes with ski storage, as well as a free shuttle to the ski lifts. The resort itself has a bar and bistro on-site, as well as a children’s play area and a sauna. The apartment is decorated with light wood and bright pops of colour, making for a warm welcome, while a private terrace offers views of the surrounding mountains.

Moriarty's Place

Overlooking Lake Geneva, this modern apartment puts you in the heart of Montreux with the lake on your doorstep. Our favourite spot is the balcony, where you can sit back with a coffee and admire the calm waters. It can get noisy, but the scenery is worth it. Better still, you'll also have first-class panoramas from the communal facilities, including a heated indoor pool (open year-round), an outdoor hot tub, and a fitness centre. There's also a sauna, hammam and a shared garden to take advantage of. Shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so a car isn't necessary – but with ski slopes and hiking trails further afield and on-site parking available, it might be useful.

Laze by the Lake

If you’re looking for a quiet sanctuary, with panoramic lake and mountain views, your search is over. This stunning Swiss home, sitting proudly by the water, really packs a punch when it comes to the surrounding scenery.

The interior purposefully tries not to distract you. That’s not to say it isn’t lovely – it’s beautiful. Neutral, open and airy with just the occasional pop of colour. Comfortable furnishings and artwork adorning the walls that remind you of the nature that surrounds you. But with walls of glass wrapping around the apartment, your eyes will naturally be drawn to what’s outside the window. 

Whether you’re lounging on one of the comfy sofas indoors or sipping a refreshing glass of crisp white wine on the sun-drenched balcony, you’re blessed with the lake languishing before you and the mountains stretching their way skywards. In the gorgeous Engelberg resort, this apartment is perfect for families and friends looking to make the most of the twenty-eight ski runs in this part of the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by mountain peaks, it’s just a few minutes' walk from your front door to reach the Titlis cable car to take you straight to the action. After a day on the slopes, you’ll come home to find a comfortable living room with a flat-screen TV and a four-seater dining table for enjoying a nice hot meal made in the modern kitchen. There are two cosy double bedrooms, but there’s room on the sofa bed for two more if you’re a larger group. Relax in the evenings with a trip to the building’s wellness oasis, where you’ll find a Finnish sauna, herbal and steam baths, a multi-sensory shower and more. 

Snowy Owls

This apartment positions classic Swiss design in a modern space and celebrates minimalist style alongside natural materials. Wood is used throughout, from the hanging lamp to the TV table and headboard. You're perfectly positioned to explore the postcard-pretty mountains at Meiringen and discover their history – Arthur Conan Doyle immortalised this very valley when he left his fictional character, Sherlock Holmes, for dead at the base of the Reichenbach Falls. Detective memorabilia can be found scattered around the apartment and there’s even a museum dedicated to the famous sleuth. The ski lift is just one kilometre away, so you can making a beeline for the slopes as soon as you've fuelled up on breakfast (taken out on your beautiful terrace, of course). Once home, rent a fondue kit from reception and spend an evening indulging yourself in life's little pleasures. 

The Magnifying Glass

This smart apartment is in the heart of Meiringen in Switzerland, close to the setting of Sherlock Holmes’ infamous (spoiler alert) fictional – and faked – death at the Reichenbach Falls. The town has taken to its mysterious connection well, building a Sherlock Holmes Museum in a picturesque former church that fans of the sleuth will want to pay a visit to. For those visiting the area hoping for more skiing than sleuthing, you're also in luck. The ski region of Meiringen-Hasliberg has a total of fourteen lifts and twenty ski runs and is a kilometre away, while further afield you’re within easy reach of Axalp, Schilthorn and Jungfrau. For summer stays, we recommend bringing your hiking boots – there are hiking paths within fifty metres of the apartment, and you’re surrounded by stunning scenery such as the Aare Gorge. The apartment itself, part of an aparthotel, offers a serene and comfortable place to retreat to after a day of activities, with mountain views from the living room and private balcony. For extra relaxation make use of the building's sauna, while the storage room is great for keeping your bikes and skis secure.

Both enjoy scenic mountain views, the perfect backdrop to an alfresco dinner or morning coffee. Swap the snow for a session in the spa with complimentary access to the resort’s wellness oasis. Here you’ll find a Finnish sauna, herbal bath, steam bath, ice shower, multi-sensory shower, relax lounge and spa garden (including bathrobe, slippers and sauna towel). There’s no better way to relax after a fun-filled day on the mountain. 

Slate & Ice

This is an ideal stay for skiers who don’t want to waste any time getting onto the slopes. Simply and elegantly furnished, the apartment is suited to a family or two couples who want to be totally immersed in the Engelberg Alpine experience. After waking up from a comfortable sleep in the hotel-style bedroom, enjoy a coffee on the snow-swept terrace, pull on your gear, and walk the few steps to the Titlis Cableways. Eighty-two kilometres of piste await, from beginner slopes to more challenging runs. When you’re back home, head to the wellness oasis to unwind in the Finnish sauna, before sipping a tea in the gardens or indulging in a massage – robe and slippers included.
