This home in the heart of the charming Swiss town of Meiringen is part of a popular resort complex, with bags of on-site amenities including a children’s playground, bar, bistro, and sauna. A modern, well laid-out space, the apartment has been specially designed to accommodate wheelchair users. Set on the ground floor, there’s a terrace to enjoy the mountain scenery from, and a large living and dining area that’s perfect for socialising after a day of adventure. The town itself is home to the Reichenbach Falls, where a certain fictional detective faked a fatal fall – which explains the Sherlock Holmes Museum nearby. Surrounded by mountains and stunning scenery, it’s not hard to see why Conan Doyle was drawn to write about this region. In the summer, you can hike from right outside your apartment, while in winter, the Meiringen-Hasilberg ski area is just a kilometre away.
