This cosy apartment near Ruka is the best of both worlds. Surrounded by lush Finnish forests, at the foot of nearby ski trails, and facing the stunning Lake Talvijärvi, it's got outdoor activities for every day of the week – no matter the season. Wood and stone accents and a neutral colour palette give this home a rustic cabin-like feel that blends perfectly with the great outdoors. A comfortable base, with everything you could need, we love the private terrace and the traditional fireplace. After a day of adventures, soothe your muscles in the electric sauna before settling down for a movie night. If you'd prefer to get out and about, head into Ruka. One of the largest ski resorts in the country, it's got dozens of shops and restaurants to explore. In the winter it's all about skiing but visit in the summer for hiking, kayaking, fishing and much more.
