And, of course, there's the Great Aletsch Glacier, easily reached by cable car and offering majestic views no matter what time of year. When you're not venturing around Riederalp, this stylish flat is the perfect spot to kick back and relax. Sliding glass doors lead onto the wooden balcony, where you can savour a mug of cocoa or a glass of wine with the Alps as your backdrop. Inside, curl up on the plush pink chair with a good book before rustling up a warm and tasty dinner in the compact kitchen – something like fondue is sure to do nicely.
