Right off the bat, we should probably mention that this Sea Point apartment isn't going to be for everybody. It's modest in size, especially the kitchenette, which can only handle the most minimalist of meals imaginable. There's also no lounge, which lends the feel of a hotel room rather than an apartment in its own right. So why have we included it in our collection? Well, there are a couple of reasons. For starters, once you accept the size, the living quarters feel fresh and contemporary, all muted greys and sleek surfaces. It's a cosy spot to kick back after a day of sightseeing. We also have praise for the communal amenities up on the building's rooftop, from the loungers overlooking a gorgeous view of the Cape Town coastline to the swimming pool – which, you might be sensing a theme here, isn't the biggest in the world, but still a fabulous spot to relax in the sun. In addition, the apartment's location is truly wonderful. There's a great selection of beaches close by, with the nearest – Rocklands – just over half a kilometre away. Signal Hill lies in the opposite direction if you fancy heading a few metres above sea... level, while the galleries and restaurants dotted about the V&A Waterfront are all of a mile-and-a-half away.
