A stunning view is best enjoyed from a stunning terrace, and the one belonging to this ocean-view home doesn't disappoint. With glass balustrades so nothing gets in the way of your vista, it's the showstopper at this place near Robyn's Beach but it's far from the only thing we love about it. There's a superb private pool too, and a state-of-the-art home cinema system so you can screen some of your favourites in comfort.

Inside, this stylish home is all about bright whites and contemporary furnishings – think glossy kitchen units, a striking modern dining table and a big leather sofa. The open layout in the living space makes it perfect for socialising and a wall of sliding patio doors opens it up to the magnificent terrace, where you'll find a barbecue, an outdoor dining table and comfy seating – not to mention sea views you may find it hard to drag yourself away from.

From here it's just a short walk or drive to the rocky coast, Beta Beach or Camps Bay Tidal Pool, or head just a little further to the superb, sandy Camps Bay Beach. Table Mountain and the city centre are within easy reach by car too.

Dance with the Ocean

Located in a prime spot in the very heart of Sea Point, just a sunny stroll away from Queen's Beach and Sea Point Pavilion, this apartment is all set to provide a smart and stylish base for happy holidays exploring Cape Town. Filled with natural light thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows, this home exudes executive elegance, with plush soft furnishings and contemporary design touches. The outdoor space may be a little on the small side, but we still think it makes a lovely place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee on a summer morning. There's also a shared swimming pool on the complex.

The Dream Weaver

This exquisite glass house has a wrap-around private terrace leading to a shared 25-metre lap pool set amid lavender, olive, and pine trees. We love the open-plan living space with its floor-to-ceiling windows offering views over the garden and the mountains beyond. The studio-style bedroom opens out onto the terrace and the glass-roofed bathroom lets light flood in. The location here is great too – it’s just a short walk from the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Cape Town is a short drive away and some of the area’s stunning beaches can be reached by car in just over twenty minutes.

The Lavender Cottage

Contemporary and traditional come together at this unique penthouse that is decorated with masks, carvings and other African artefacts from places across the continent including, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa. The home’s crowning glory, however, is its position above Camps Bay, offering incredible views of the Twelve Apostles and the Atlantic Ocean. Whether you’re soaking up the sunshine on the terrace during the day or watching the sunset as you dine alfresco at night, the views will truly captivate your every moment. 

Enjoy the vistas almost from the moment you wake up, with both bedrooms and the living space opening right onto the terrace overlooking the mountains and ocean scene. When the South African sun gets too hot, cool off in the plunge pool and listen out for the faint sound of the surf from the waters below. 

Fire up the barbecue in the evening and dine alfresco over the golden sunset bay, sipping a glass of Cape Town wine until the night descends and a crescent of lights illuminates the bay. While on colder nights, romantic evenings would be perfectly spent in front of the fireplace.

Situated in Plettenberg Bay adjacent to Goose Valley Golf Club and overlooking Keurbooms Lagoon, this remarkable home brings a taste of modern luxury to a truly idyllic location.

Given the glorious climate, this is an address in which alfresco living is prioritised. A swimming pool takes pride of place in the middle of the outdoor space and is sure to see plenty of dips during the summer months. Add to that a luscious garden full of old milkwood trees, a rooftop bar and a bar that sits behind a large glass wall, and it's easy to pass countless hours out in the open air.

That being said, there's plenty going on behind the stone walls, too. The interior is full of curios, from the varied collection of furniture sourced from across the globe to the antique chandelier hanging over the grand dining table. When it comes to amenities, there's a games room in the main house, plus a steam room and gym in the separate cottage.

Although you may well be thinking that there's more than enough to keep you occupied at the home, there's also plenty to see in the local area, too. Keurbooms Beach is just over five minutes away by car, as is Goose Valley Golf Club. A little further afield, there's a great range of nature and game reserves to explore.

Inside, neutral decor and floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright, cheerful feeling from the moment you enter the door, and we love the sliding patio doors opening the living space up the sunny deck. With a covered dining table and a barbecue, it's the dream spot for evening meals as the sun sets. Follow the steps down to a lower level for comfy sun loungers and down again to your own pool.  

Pursuing Happiness 

Nestled in the centre of the city of Cape Town, adjacent to the stunning St George's Cathedral, this home offers all the luxury and convenience of city living with breathtaking views to boot, with guests always welcomed to the home by a stunning bouquet of complementary flowers. This two-bedroom abode offers modern, comfortable, sleek furniture and finishings, looking out across the city and towards the majesty of Table Mountain, as well as beautifully-contemporary artworks by established South African artists including Zanele Muholi, Igshaan Adams and Mohau Modisakeng.

When not relaxing at home, Cape Town is the perfect place for adventure. With restaurants, markets and bars all within a five-minute walk, guests are spoilt for culinary choice. A leisurely meander around the Castle of Good Hope is always recommended, and what visit to this beautiful city would be complete without a hike around Table Mountain National Park or Skeleton Gorge. Adamastor's Rest

Nestled in the spellbinding suburb of Bishopscourt, this villa makes an impressive first impression by blending elegance and eclectic African pieces by local artists. The patio – complete with a swimming pool and ample outdoor seating – overlooks some of the mountains that make the mother city special, and those vistas stay mostly within view thanks to the architecture and large windows. With a private tennis court, gym, games room, and cinema, there’s plenty to occupy. The beach is a short drive away, and so is the golf course, but it’s Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden that's a must for any bucket list.

The Golden Gleame

Surrounded by The Twelve Apostles mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, this colonial home in Camps Bay's best feature might be the large sash windows that create the illusion of being right in the water. Take advantage of that by watching the tide change from the striped wing chairs, or grab a book from the small library and sink into the brown leather sofa – with the windows open, of course, you want to hear the lapping waves beyond. 

Get the coffee dripping first thing in the morning and once breakfast has been prepared, you can take it all out on the sun terrace where to eat alfresco. Breathe in the fresh, sea salt air from your position on the sunlouger, take a dip in the clear, solar-heated swimming pool, and when lunch inevitably comes around, be sure to try South Africa’s favourite pastime, the braai. If you’re not up for barbecuing, you can of course sample the eateries of the area. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes around a five-minute walk away. 

Spend sundrenched days at the beach – there are plenty of options to explore along the coast, including the famous Clifton Beach. Swim in the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only a short walk away, or pick any one of the tens of hiking trails around – Lion’s Head is an especially popular choice and the starting point is only seven minutes away by car. 

After a long, tiring day, soak in a bubble bath with a glass of wine in hand. Afterward, why not sit out under the stars with koeksisters or peppermint crisp tart and end the day on a sweet note?

Don’t miss a spectacular sunset from your balcony with a glass of South African wine, although it’ll be hard to – you’ll end up spending most of your time here soaking up the magical views. 

A stone’s throw from the beach, you won’t be able to resist a stroll along the white sands before cooling off in the turquoise water. Grab a bite in one of the many laid-back cafes nearby and have a rummage in the local boutique shops.

This apartment is a perfect base to explore Cape Town. Go hiking in the incredible Table Mountain National Park, which is pretty much on your doorstep, or take a day trip to visit the African penguins at Boulders Beach.

This home is hard to beat for its unforgettable views and central location, just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of exciting Camps Bay.
