Vicar's Sermon, Norfolk, UK

The heated swimming pool at Vicar's Sermon, Plum Guide home in Norfolk, UK

Click to book Vicar's Sermon now: from £200 per night We're willing to bet that there aren't too many vicarage and pool house combos out there, which is more the shame if this wonderful address is anything to go by. Surrounded by six acres of private grounds, these two properties combine to make for a truly unique stay. The main house dates back to the Georgian era and overflows with regency charm, from the chandeliers and antique furnishings to the tapestry on the living room wall and the chequerboard tiling in the hallway as soon as you enter. Just next door is the slightly newer pool house, which holds an impressive games room underneath the twenty foot-high vaulted ceiling. As the name of the second building suggests, there's also a heated swimming pool for guests to splash about in. This looks out over the walled garden, where afternoons can be spent playing croquet or tennis on the fenced-off all-weather court. Come evening time, the only thing for it is to fire up the two barbecues and gather everybody together on the patio. If you ever feel like leaving the address — which we wouldn't blame you if not — you can borrow one of the ten bicycles and explore the nearby Thetford Forest, or drive half an hour over to Oxburgh Hall to see its moat and gardens. Sleeps up to 15 | 8 Bedrooms | 5 Bathrooms

Hancocks Farm, Somerset, UK

Click to book Hancocks Farm now: from £500 per night A beautiful amalgamation of 500 years of history, this stunning Somerset farmhouse and converted dairy spans the centuries. Stone floors run throughout the home – some old, some more recent – each documenting the evolution of this building over time. The garden pool is certainly a new addition, along with a dreamy pool house complete with changing rooms and a restorative steam room. On fine days, lounge out by the heated waters and enjoy a lazy alfresco lunch before treating yourself to a steam – plus, an automated cover keeps the pool at the ideal temperature all the time. The home itself is furnished in a contemporary farmhouse style with every detail attended to – offering a combination of cutting-edge modern spaces and a cosy cottage feel. The large kitchen is the heart of the home, with a beautifully restored AGA offering post-walk warmth on cold winter days. Of course, if you’d rather sprawl out on the couch, there’s plenty to choose from with their own wood burners to keep you warm. For spring and summer living, the kitchen conservatory is pretty remarkable – floor-to-ceiling sliding doors in the dining area open out onto the garden and rolling countryside. Upstairs, the impeccably styled bedrooms are decorated with floral print wallpaper, super-soft throws, and armchairs. The master bedroom even manages to fit an elegant freestanding bath alongside the dressing table – sneak away in the afternoons and take a blissfully relaxing soak. Outside, a terraced garden is spread over various levels, complete with a croquet lawn and even a mature woodland. If you’d like a break from country solitude, it’s just a twenty-minute walk to Babington House, perfect for Soho House club members to grab drinks, food and use the facilities. Otherwise, head into Frome, just a ten-minute drive away, with plenty of options for dining, shopping and sipping tea in town. Sleeps up to 8 | 5 Bedrooms | 5 Bathrooms
