Top 20 Century City, Los Angeles vacation rentals & luxury serviced apartments
A compact commercial district, Century City is marked by sleek high-rise hotels, condos and offices. It wouldn’t exist without 20th Century Fox - the neighbourhood was built on one of the movie studio’s backlots. In 1956, Fox’s president decided to repurpose the land for real estate development and commissioned a master plan from an architectural firm. The first building went up in 1963. Though its population density thins at the end of the workday, Century City has lots of neighbourhood infrastructure. Several shopping malls and a host of upscale restaurants contribute to a thriving retail and nightlife scene within this commercial centre, including the 422,000-square-foot Westfield Mall development, which is home to Eataly, over 67,000 square feet of Italian food, which opened recently with much fanfare. Century City probably isn't going to win any prizes for olde worlde character but that won't be a deal-breaker for everyone.
